Hugs pocket. Hope the midwife is kind to you and you feel better afterwards. I get you tori. I had the flu jabs at my first antenatal appointments with my two last pgs and it turned out later that is about when they stopped progressing but must get over brain trying to create a link. Am all for vaccinations usually.

longestlurkerever · 15/10/2014 08:27

Yes, sorry, to clarify, first antenatal appointment was with gp not midwife.

Thanks longest

I am finding it a bit of a cycle to be honest, I work myself up into a state in the days/hours before appointments/scans, then I have a few hours of numbness when the fact that everything is ok sinks in (having 'prepared' myself for the worst) then a day or so of feeling happy and confident before starting the anxious slide back to major panic before the next appointment - it's exhausting!

StopEatingThatMud · 15/10/2014 09:03

pocket I had an early scan 10 days or so ago, with another booked for next monday due to them putting me back a week to 5w so no fetal pole/hb etc to see. What you've written there sums up exactly how I was and expect to be around the next one.

I hope you're feeling ok about later and it all goes well.

Hi All,

Back from my appointment and flu jab. Thanks for your handholding earlier. All was well, heard heartbeat (and the midwife even humoured my fears that it was just my heartbeat I could hear by getting me to check mine at the same time - definitely to different beats!) The midwife was also really supportive, I sort of thought they might just be dismissive and tell me not to be so silly but they were actually really understanding and have offered to see me more frequently to help reduce my anxiety.

All in all a very positive visit.

Hi all, got my definite bfp this morning. I've had two awful losses so far so going to be very, very anxious these next few weeks.

Best wishes for tomorrow silver

Welcome mrsk, congrats on BFP

Limping along here, feeling achy and broken. Bump will not stop dancing, which reassuring, but not helping the heartburn...
I have made appointments with doulas to try to help with my anxiety issues around the birth, and might even consider buying some bits / painting the spare room ( cannot bring myself to say nursery or baby's room yet) , this weekend, but I guess some kind of hospital bag may be first order, given all of the recent scares! Thanks again for all the support, ladies :) x
