Finally home after several hours as they were busy, all is fine tho, baby started having a dance as soon as the monitor went on, was so relieved I didn't even care that I looked like a liar lol, although in other news he appears to be becoming less engaged over time... At 37 weeks he was 2/5 engaged, then 38 weeks 3/5 engaged and tonight the midwife wrote 4/5 engaged n said the head was free... I'm reallllllly ready not to be pregnant anymore, why is he going in reverse?? I sense this baby is gona be a handful as he grows up Smile

MrsGiraffe12 · 24/08/2014 06:58

alb I'm sorry I can't remember but is this your first baby? I was told with 2nd or more babies that some don't get engaged until labour starts, even if it is your first baby this can still happen so I wouldn't worry too much

Very good news though that the little munchkin is behaving himself and thriving. I think most babies scare us at some point in pregnancy, and I was told that going on the moniter wakes them up and freaks them out a bit as they can hear their heartbeat x

Davidtennantmistress · 24/08/2014 07:19

Squid you always get one friend who spouts that sanctimonious crap my friend wAs told by her he that she'd end up depressed and. It's considered a good day if she dresses herself and remembers to eat/ change baby. It's total bollocks of course. Just don't be in any rush to do anything, with ds1 I had five days in hospital but a highly abusive controlling xh, not good with ds2 I was mid house move so loads of rushing about with db3 I intend to do bugger all but watch crappy day time TV with my boobs lobbed out, it's the only time you can realistically be waited on hand and foot, in reality of course I'll be shuffling about and hubs will be driving me to costa for tea and cake every day. Grin

TeaandHobnobs · 24/08/2014 08:10

squiz what a pair of drama queens / unhelpful bitches (can you block them? Grin). I think I ate a lot of freezer meals, ready meals and takeaways early on, but I certainly never went hungry! I sat down to eat breakfast while DS fed in the morning (and tried not to cover him in cereal!).

I had to get out every day when DS came home - I am not one for coping being at home all day - even if it was just a walk round the park or down the high street. I actually went to meet my parents a lot. It was my way of being "normal" after all the insanity of the weeks leading up to DS' birth and his stay in SCBU.

alb hope monitoring goes ok and baby starts doing the boogie!

squizita · 24/08/2014 08:39

Thanks all.
I actually feel really sorry for one of them. I think she had some issues and wasn't supported and has never realised that shouldn't be 'expected' that you have an awful time and no one raises a finger to help. V glad I have family nearby and a moderately capable DH!
The other person has told me I'll fail at everything since we first met as children, it's just her way. When she feels down she tries to get the upper hand rather than fixing her problems. Hmm She's not a horrible person it's just her defense mechanism.

squizita · 24/08/2014 08:39

Just saw your update Alb, phew, sounds good news. :)

Babytinx11 · 24/08/2014 09:29

She sounds delightful squiz Hmm

Glad all went well alb :)

squizita · 24/08/2014 11:39

Has anyone else had a swollen neck towards the end of pregnancy? I thought I had dodged swelling but DH noticed it. I didn't at all.
Now I am paranoid and keep imagining my neck is going to swell up and choke me and/or I've suddenly got really high BP!
It's just a bloaty fat swelling, no pain or anything. Doesn't even look alarming.

squizita · 24/08/2014 11:52

Just checked and it seems to be a gland or something on one side.

Babytinx11 · 24/08/2014 12:02

Probably coming down with a bug squiz :( hope your ok and feeling better soon Smile seems me and DS have both been attacked by a tummy bugs which is making packing hard not to mention moving around in general but on the plus side I have had lots of really nice cuddles from DS :)

MrsGiraffe12 · 24/08/2014 12:11

baby how long till moving day?

Babytinx11 · 24/08/2014 15:22

Moving day has been moved to the 31st so 6 days mrsg starting to feel like I'm never going to get it done :( hoping I can get ds's room finished today but not holding my breath Sad

MrsGiraffe12 · 24/08/2014 15:25

baby at least more time means less stress and panic :-) but crossing fingers for you all the same that you get it all done x

MrsGiraffe12 · 24/08/2014 16:14

Feeling very very crampy today, and painful. Baby's goin mad in there and also have loose bowels but continuously feel like I'm constipated. Feeling nauseaus and very tired too. I'm hoping it's the start of something but I bet it's not :-(

MrsGiraffe12 · 24/08/2014 16:32

Plus my back is agony and I can't seem to sit still even though I'm knackered :-)

Babytinx11 · 24/08/2014 16:49

I have totally gone off my family with all this constant calls telling me I should be taking it easy and looking after the baby ect but when i ask for help it's too much I give up with them I really do :(

fedupofrainydays · 24/08/2014 17:48

baby I know how you feel... People say the same to me re work and house but no real offers to help either. :(

I felt like that the other day mrsg and it went the next day... But hoping for you as your nearer due date that it's the real deal!

MrsGiraffe12 · 24/08/2014 17:56

Still getting the cramps and back pain and just feel "off". Here's hoping :-)

squizita · 24/08/2014 18:09

MrsG fingers crossed! :)

Baby yep I know that feeling... Take it easy. But make your house magically clean at the same time. Grr.

I rang the hospital about the swelling. They think its a swollen gland (apparently even a healthy thyroid can swell if baby is stripping your minerals) but no need to rush in, visit the GP Tuesday unless it gets worse.

MrsGiraffe12 · 24/08/2014 18:14

Gonna just try and rest for the evening now and see what happens. Sod's law I'll be fine in the morning.
Still, I'll meet baby by Thursday no matter what :-)

Babytinx11 · 24/08/2014 18:19

So glad it's not just the people around me who are like this hmm that probably sounds bad but you know what i mean it was beginning to feel personal Confused just be glad when this move is over and I can smile sweetly at offers of help that will never come to any thing with out actually needing them to be genuine offers

MrsGiraffe12 · 24/08/2014 18:39

baby I've found that because I'm pregnant people offer help, but it very rarely materialises!

squizita good to see that it's hopefully nothing too serious with your neck :-)

Babytinx11 · 24/08/2014 19:05

Isn't it though possay one of the single most annoying things it might be pregnancy rage but I came so close earlier to telling the numerous family members who have called and been generally unhelpful where to stick it and normally I am happy to take this stuff on the chin :( at the moment it's driving me insane

blankfornames · 25/08/2014 08:24

Hi all, been away for a while but have been keeping up to date with all the news!
Very exciting that some of you are so close!
I'm almost 15 wks and feeling good. I can't say I look pregnant, just that I've eaten all the pies! My tiredness is beginning to subside but am back to work this week after being off for ages, so can imagine I'll be wrecked again!

Today we are pregnant! Amen!!

TeaRex · 25/08/2014 09:50

Hi all, sorry having major phone/internet problems, it's just been cutting out for the last two days oh joy :/
jnl so sorry to hear your news :( hope you're doing okay? X

squiz your freinds are joyful aren't they? I agree with the others you will eat fine :) (well if you're like me your diet might consist of cake, crisps, chocolate etc but you'll not go hungry) also I really recommend getting out the house by yourself with the baby as soon as you can as it can be nerve wracking the first time, and I too went out nearly everyday, even if it was only to pop to the corner shop 10 mins away, for milk, which I managed to poor on my cereal, by myself..... Grin

alb glad all's okay with you, mrsg fx for you :)
