Hey! Hope everyone's well? I'm just through a bout of tonsillitis :/ never had it before, absolute agony! But feeling much better now the antibiotics have kicked in (worried about taking them but figured me being ill wouldn't help the baby anyhow) also had a midwife appt today, heard the babies heartbeat which was lovely and my midwifes referring me for counsiling due to me being so stressed (burst into tears in front if her, so embarrassing) stressed due to mmc, worries about this pregnancy and work. I'm so run down at the minute, just need a break.
Though work really is the worst, just hate it there at the minute. How are you all finding dealing with stress from being pregnant again and work? X

Hope your felling better tea tonsillitis is the worst :( can't really say anything about work stress as I am a stay at home mummy with DS was planning on starting part time where DH works in September but that's on the back burner now until this baby starts school. I do hope things get better for you soon though :)

tea I'm in the same boat with work stress... no solution yet though! Ended up telling my boss yesterday about the pregnancy (even though I'm still only 5 weeks) because she was trying to get me to do jobs I wasn't happy to do. She's not the maternal type so it didn't go down too well, especially as I've had loads of time off with my last 3 miscarriages.
Hope antibiotics kick in soon and you're feeling better. Are you off work until you recover?

I currently have year end going on, (I'm in finance) so bit stressy, summer shut down and a new boy starting in two weeks so need to re arrange my offices to fit his desk in, the find time to train him and keep my feet on the ground.

Can't moan though as today in the space of half an hour the boss went from 'pay rises will be reviewed with appraisals in January' to 'you and x can take 5% payrise each effective end of August' now this is great my lady is over the moon, I'm pleased don't get me wrong, however, I have a week off booked end of August and was planning on telling boss when I get back oh btw I'm 15 weeks pg and I plan on going on maternity leave after the Xmas shut down! (So at 30 weeks) but taking my holiday entitlement in one go so maternity will actually start about 36 weeks. PS love you thanks for the pay rise. Wink thank god he's just got a new lady friend who seems to be cheering him up no end. Lol.

tea I don't know any good strategy about coping with work stress. I was very stressed about it since I started a new job in December with a 6 month probation period, and I'm due in September. The timing, as you can see, is not great at all, and that's what got me most stressed. Otherwise work itself isn't stressful. Luckily I do love the work so I could forget about it when I'm very busy working away. What is getting you very stressed at work? The workload? Your boss? The colleagues?

Great scan news baby!!

tea I echo OLTT's questions - re what is it causing the work stress? I told someone my boss early at work as needed him to understand where I was emoti

Thanks for the comments re my probable cold. Baby started to move more as day went on so feeing reassured and yes, it's likely just a cold!

Sorry - half my message was lost! Was saying about telling me boss as needed him to know where is was emotionally and mentally about being pregnant again after my losses. I felt such a nutter that I needed him to understand if I was a bit random and also to understand that I couldn't do the usual and work all the hours - I could only manage til 6 then that was it. End of. No turning on lap top again once ds was in bed. He was suprisngly supportive so glad I told him.

Am I allowed a little moan? 33+4 and really struggling with this heat, was 27 degrees here today!! And my grow bag egg in my bedroom is currently reading 30 degrees, like being abroad! All I want to do is lay on my bed and do nothing. Doesn't help that the monkey is still breech and squashing my ribs and lungs almost continuously :-(

Actually to be fair my boss is nice and I get on well with my colleagues but the big issue is we're owned by a larger company and they've started making loads of changes to procedures and systems etc which do make sense but they've gone about in such a shit way it's causing loads of problems.
Extra work, slowed everything down so things take twice as long, this in turn means everyone's seriously under it and a few people have walked out, those of us left behind are all struggling and there's near daily screaming matches between people higher up. It's basically all just a horrible atmosphere.
At the end if the day I know it's just crappy timing and I could normally deal with most of it but it just all feels too much at the minute, I keep praying I'll win the lottery but surprisingly that's not happened yet....lol
Thanks for asking ladies, I really need to just get my head down and get through the next few months.
I am feeling better in the tonsillitis dept though thank god, hats off to those of you that have had it multiple times.

david good news about the scan :)

Hello, can I join you ladies? I got my BFP last week, 5 weeks after I had an ERPC for a MMC at 6 weeks. I am scared to be honest, no idea how far along I am but can't be more than 5 weeks. As yet I have no symptons, probably normal but I can't stop worrying it's a bad sign! I have a DD who is almost 3 so 1st pregnancy seems a while ago now. Docs have told me to go for an early scan next week to check dates and that it's developing 'normally' as last time the sac seemed to collapse in on itself.

It's nice to read lots of positive lovely stories on here.

There is nothing worse than having to go on the tube in this heat whilst pregnant. Practically kills me. Apparently it was 37 (or maybe 47) degrees down there. Inhumane.

I've had 3 nose bleeds today. And always in difficult situations. In a meeting. And on a train - I had to ask for tissue donations Blush

Hi ilovechops do you know when your scan will be yet? It's ok to be scared we all are it's natural and especially given how close to your mmc it is sending hugs and hoping everything goes well for you this time :)

OneLittleToddleTerror And cuppachuplaz had my scan today and my consultant told me something similar to onelittletoddleterror's, he said I should expect regular movements from 23/24 weeks. (We were talking about this on the old thread)

Scan went well today. Baby growing well. Blood sugars good. Found out sex of baby.

Met a lady just before the scan who assumed I must be excited. So tricky to explain to random person that I felt neutral! I was happy when I left the scan though. She was going for her 12 week scan so I could hardly tell her what can happen, and did happen to me. Tricky.

Apologies but seems I didn't fully explain myself about listening to the heartbeat and the heat being a mc risk. I didn't mean listening via a Doppler, I meant listening to the heartbeat whilst having a scan. My consultant said that the trust's policy was not to listen to a heart beat via the ultrasound scan probe (either internally or externally) as it can cause some heat transfer to the baby and can be a risk of mc. Not sure if this is just EPU babies because there's already risk of mc or whether that's for all departments. Obviously we were disappointed not to hear baby's heartbeat at the scan but now I know there's a risk of harm to baby (no matter how small that risk may be) there's no way I could risk it. I'll happily wait!
I've heard several ladies say recently (on mumsnet) that they've heard baby's heartbeat from 6 weeks via ultrasound so am wondering if this is just Yorkshire hospitals or whether it's a new policy coming out Country wide?

I've got my scan this afternoon (Thursday) and am so excited but so nervous at the same time! My head's all over the place and now I'm super scared that I'm jinxing things by allowing our DS (he's 5) to come along. I know we have no choice with him being off school BUT....!! Major fish slap needed to calm me down....I'm thinking that a haddock won't do - perhaps all you ladies could fish slap me together with a 4m long great white?!?! Perhaps that would knock some sense into me?? :)

So pleased to see so many new ladies. It's hard to believe that I'm now 11 weeks pregnant!!! Grin the past 7 weeks seems to have flown by yet the next 29 weeks seems like an eternity away!! It also means that I'm moving up the stats pile and am now 5th from bottom!! Yippee!! Feels like a massive achievement.
