Hello berries.
bushy Great news on the scan. Did you get a picture?
11 days til mine, not that I'm doing a countdown
In the meantime, I'm doing a weekly CB digi to reassure myself, especially as the symptoms have all but disappeared. The occasional dull ache and I still feel a bit queasy if I don't eat the very second that I feel hungry not nothing major.
Pip hopefully we will cruise through this without any symptoms Smile

So I've just seen the home birth MW this evening and feel really happy with that as a choice :)

She was great, really calm but with a sense of humour. Has been doing HB for 14 years and will be on call 24/7 except just the very week before I'm due but then I have 2 other MW on call as back up and she said to ring her anyhow as she would come off her leave if she didn't have alternative plans that day. Really great! She did all the standard AN checks on my sofa, inc listening to the dino's heartbeat and blood pressure (though I did go to the loo for wee sample Wink).

So now I just need to keep my BP down as it was slightly elevated today and I really don't warn that being a reason to go to hospital. Although if it happens, it happens!

How's everyone else?

FeatherFeather11 · 04/12/2014 16:56

Sounds like it's all go for your hb, rp - brilliant news. I'm sure you've read the latest news out yesterday on HB and Nice guidelines?

I've made the mistake of downloading the Tiny Beats app to my phone. Doesn't seem to work as I can feel baby feather knocking about in there but can't find her heartbeat. Confused

Coming down with a bit of a cold so I called in sick and stayed in bed all day today. Feeling guilty seeing as I only have three weeks to go before I leave. 31 weeks today. Still can't believe it! Just ordered a bednest for baby feather off the nct website and really considering renting one of their baby car seats - it's only £45 for six months. Am I mad for considering not buying that? I trust the nct shop, so have no concerns about safety etc.

How is everyone else doing?

thelentil · 04/12/2014 18:12

Hi all, went for a scan yesterday, booked at A&E on Monday, saw a heartbeat, in fact, it's so tiny it looked like the entire thing was a heartbeat, bleeding again this morning though, sigh. It's been dated at 5+2 so when I go on Tuesday I can see if it's progressing

I found some apple, pear and brussel sprout juice today, it's actually quite nice, probably because it's only got 6% sprouts in, just enough to give it a sludgy green tinge

I read some reviews of those heartbeat apps, there was a doctor on there that thought it was useless

FeatherFeather11 · 04/12/2014 19:05

Brill news re scan lentil. Have everything crossed for you. I had a bleed and a long night in a&e when I was around 6-7weeks. I'm sure you've read that it happens a lot - still scary though. Having said that, someone earlier on the thread that to see a heartbeat at such an early stage is a brilliant sign. As I said, got everything crossed for you.

Pipbin · 04/12/2014 19:22

Great news Lentil. Still counting down for my scan.
Felt sick yesterday morning but nothing today.

thelentil · 04/12/2014 20:39

Yeah, apparently some bleeding after the scan is pretty normal, still nerve wracking after two MCs and at my age!

greatbigbushybeard · 04/12/2014 22:55

Hi there, that's great news lentil. So good to see the hb that early. Your juice sounds urgh!! Think it's the Brussels sprouts. Must be v good for you though.

feather I've got a cold too!! Started as a ick feeling at back of throat, then to a slight sniffle, now full on snot, sneezing, sore throat and general crapness. Does it sound silly to be worried about baby? I'm a bit annoyed I'm ill really as have been doing really well up to this point. I haven't taken anything apart from soluble vit c and berocca. Trying to tough it out as there isn't really much you can take apart from paracetamol. Any advice from the more experience berries on how to treat a cold when pg?

Dh said to me earlier so you're 'greatbigbushybeard' then!! He was googling ( get this) a certain piece of jewellery and when you're meant to get it for a lady and mumsnet came up. He then looked for the berries, read the posts and I had totally outed myself with 2 posts that could not have been anyone else other than me!! He did say he didn't read anymore than that though!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 05/12/2014 10:35

I thought those apps all had disclaimers saying they were bullshit?
I have a thing if anybody wants to borrow it? (That's what pregnancy does to your brain - can't remember the word Grin The thing you listen to heartbeats with). Was a cheapo off amazon but worked surprisingly well.
Colds in pregnancy - like much else in pregnancy I'm afraid you just have to muddle through. Lots of Vit c and take the paracetamol if you need it,it won't do any harm.
I had a bleed too, it was around 11 weeks I think. Very scary but all was fine x

RevoltingPeasant · 05/12/2014 13:53

Doppler Merk? Wink

The MW listened to heartbeat on Weds with a wooden ear trumpet! She said she always carrires one in case the batts on her portable monitor go. It was v retro!!

Lentil great news, and I also had bleeding for most of a week at 6w. Twas fine in the end. The only advice I was given was rest lots, put your feet up but really if anything happens, no one can help it (least of all you!!!). FX for Tuesday.

greatbigbushybeard · 06/12/2014 09:43

Morning berries, it's a beautiful morning here today.

My stinking cold gave me a decent excuse not to drink at friend's birthday party last night, that and that I was driving. We were there for about 2 hours standing up and my tummy did feel quite sore after that.. Although that may have been my jeans being a bit tight!!

I am finding that I am more hungry more of the time iykwim. Last night, after work,I was popping to shop to get birthday present and just had to eat. I end up buying crisps, not the healthiest I know but I just need carbs to fill me up!! Has any else got good snacks that fill them up? I cld do nuts, banana I suppose.

Managed to book in with midwife for 2 weeks time. spare we did get a pic, 2 in fact as she printed too off but I think it's the same bit. Also had a letter arrive from clinic, which they're sending to our doctors about the pregnancy. It says an estimated due date of 21st July. Dh read that & shat himself!! He's like it's not coming for another 9 mths!!

RevoltingPeasant · 06/12/2014 14:45

Bushy I was (and am) all about the breakfast cereal. Also malty hot drinks like Horlicks. That will fill you up if you make it with milk, and the packet says it has vitamins in it, so go for it!

My jeans got tight surprisingly early. I went and bought the famous M&S elasticated trews at about 8-9 weeks and have never been in regular jeans since. Be comfy!

Sounds like you have symptoms galore which is hopefully a good sign :)

Pipbin · 07/12/2014 00:35

I was over at a friend's house tonight and I laughed so much I was genuinely worried that I might laugh the baby out!

thelentil · 07/12/2014 12:06

Oh Pip! Laughing that much has to be a great workout for your abs, and pelvic floor!

RP, my jeans tight already, Mum patted my belly yesterday, I was like, yeah, that's wind and overrating. Horlicks is on the shopping list

Went to a dinner dance last night, my cousin was there and made a couple of comments about me looking "well" and "blooming", she totally guessed straight away, drinking fruit juice was probably a heads up, second person who has guessed, now officially dreading being outed at work party, but then they are all men, so chances of them guessing are low, I've passed off my symptoms as an ear infection so can use the antibiotics excuse

In other news, I'm a big bag of wind and I burst into tears watching Strictly (WTF!!!)

thelentil · 07/12/2014 12:08

Overeating, not overrating, I never stop being hungry

Pipbin · 08/12/2014 07:15

Berries it is my scan tomorrow and I can't stand it. I'm convinced that they are going to tell me the baby has died. I've got no symptoms.

ladybunnikins · 08/12/2014 07:25

Just one more day to get through! You're still early for symptoms and hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones who don't get morning sickness. Still no bleeding/pain? I know you're on progesterone but that is still good since you bled on the other cycles. You had a 25% chance of getting pregnant, now your chances of staying pregnant must be about 75%. If you see a heartbeat tomorrow (if that's 8 weeks) your chances of staying pregnant go up to 98%!

FeatherFeather11 · 08/12/2014 09:22

pip hang on in there. Just one more day. This is the worst bit, the waiting. Much handholding and sending if positive Berrie vibes coming your way. Flowers x

RevoltingPeasant · 08/12/2014 09:40

Pip what time tomorrow?

yorkiebilb · 08/12/2014 10:07

pip lack of symptoms doesn't necessary mean bad news. I was being sick 10 times a day when I had my mmc. With this pregnancy I didn't start feeling ill until my second trimester and then it was only first thing in the morning. Hang in there!

thelentil · 08/12/2014 10:25

Lots of people don't get symptoms at all, my friend was 14 weeks before she found out, she was still getting monthly spotting. It wasn't her first either

thelentil · 08/12/2014 10:32

I know how you feel though, my scan is tomorrow and I've pretty much convinced myself that the heartbeat I saw will have stopped. I can barely talk about it in terms of being a prospect and can't bring myself to plan for the future. I've put it down to being a defence mechanism as I had two MMCs previously discovered at the scan.

Pipbin · 08/12/2014 12:51

What time tomorrow Lentil? Mine is 10am.
I'm convinced it's going to be bad news. You must feel even worse after your MMCs.

As for the symptoms I just keep reminding myself that my friend didn't know she was pg until she was 10 weeks.

thelentil · 08/12/2014 13:18

Mine is 8:30, my Mum is expecting a call straight after, I'm dreading it too

There's nothing we can do to change anything apart from look after ourselves, eat right, plenty of fluids, just give it the best chance and see what happens, after the first two I'm much tougher about it all but still not easy

Good luck and I have everything crossed for you x

Pipbin · 08/12/2014 13:21

Everything crossed for you too.
Please update here as soon as you can.
I'll talk to Ganesha.
