badger I'm so sorry to hear your news, but I'm pleased everyone is being so supportive. Hope to see you here again soon xxx

HopefulHamster · 05/07/2014 14:03

Hi all, sorry haven't been here for a while - lost the thread, then went on holiday.

((hugs)) to Badger and anyone else who needs them.

Big congrats to Nerdy!

As for me, I'm 27 weeks tomorrow and feel grateful to have got so far. On the other hand I'm beginning to feel paranoid again. I think because it's been so long since I heard a heartbeat (21 weeks) or anything.

I'm getting kicks throughout the day now which is good (though when I was on holiday and busy I hardly felt anything) yet I feel worried my bump isn't big enough. It's just not very bumpy - more solid if you know what I mean. Feel like I'll get to my 28 weeks appointment (not booked yet) and they'll say it's too small. :-/. I'm petite, so surely I should be bigger, not smaller?

Might need fish slap.

silverine · 05/07/2014 15:01

So I did some research on what you can see on scans at different stages and 5mm gestational sack is bang on for 5 weeks, so I feel better for that. But still worried about symptoms going away... I know many have no symptoms at all but if you had them and disappeared is no good... Sad keeping fx for blood results tomorrow!

AddictedToRadley · 05/07/2014 15:44

Oh Badger I'm so sorry to hear that. Have been keeping everything crossed for you. Really don't know what to say as it is just the most heartbreaking thing ever Sad Keeping fx that you're back on here soon. ((Hugs))

Tanny I'm pleased your getting the meds needed to help little bean grow. Also, rather selfishly, I'm pleased that someone else was awake all night too and found DH/DP irritating. Think it was just me being jealous that he could sleep and I couldn't. Plus he kept trying to cuddle me as he slept so I moved away as the thought of someone hugging you when you feel so sick and being that close when you're so hot (even with the fan on full blast in my face!!) ugh it's just unbearable!! Pleased to say that DP is still alive today but more through luck than anything else Wink

Cuppa It's wonderful having an easy problem free pg isn't it? This time around every smell makes me gag and I'm struggling with everything. Sadly it seems to be getting worse rather than better Sad

Just been shopping with the family and had to lean heavily on the trolley just to stay upright. Just felt so ill that I thought I was going to pass out. Keep getting cold sweats where my face is dripping but I'm cold not hot. Ugh this is so miserable.

Oh and nearly drove through a load of wretched cyclists because I was stuck behind them at 8mph whilst they rode FIVE abreast in a national speed limit zone!! Grrrr Blame the hormones!! I've normally got patience for cyclists as they're so much more vulnerable than other road users but cycling five abreast just made me see red especially as it was double white lines so I couldn't overtake!! Maybe it's a good sign though because the hormones must be rising Grin

GandTnow · 05/07/2014 15:50

badger so sorry to hear your news and hope that we see you back here soon Thanks

Davidtennantmistress · 05/07/2014 16:32

Badgers, I'm so sorry my lovely, be kind to yourself.

Hope everyone else is ok, my sickness returned this am with a vengeance it seems ginger ale is the only thing to keep it at bay or at least a manageable it's there but I can ignore it queasiness.

Is anyone else having pg dioahrear? I know it's not nice but I'm having two or three quick succession loo breaks a major bout of sickness feeling like I'm going to come down with d v any minute then ok again, boobs are fine currently heavy on removal of bra but no where near as sensitive as they were.

Doctor has re sent my referral she's sent it to ultrasound not epu, so I'll be bloody lucky to get one, I'll be booking in with the midwife if I can for this Tuesday and demanding that she refers me to epu, I just want someone to bloody listen and get the eps refferal, doctor says they won't see me until 7 weeks, but hospital says no it's from 6 weeks! I'm 7 Monday FFs how hard is it to just send me to EPu, plus hubs is refusing to go private this time as the NHL will do it, hmmm yes if I don't have a heart attack first! I just want to know our bean is ok healthy and has a heart beat, but logically I want to also wait until mid week, or week after if I can as more change of finding a heart beat, arrrrrrggghhhhhhhhh! And breath, I am calm, and breath.

Babytinx11 · 05/07/2014 17:18

So sorry to hear your news badgers :( sending hugs

davidtennatmistress the EPU where I live saw my Wednesday gone at 4 weeks only saw a sac but the still scanned me I would pester them a bit so you get seen to put your mind at ease

I have another scan Wednesday and between throwing my guts up and hideously sore boobs I'm feeling pretty pants but still can't seem to relax and believe things are going to be ok ?? anyone know how many weeks you need to be for them to see a heartbeat?

Davidtennantmistress · 05/07/2014 17:22

My epu doesn't do self referrals hence my keeping on at the doctor, I have a gyne apt for a consultant for rmc on the 17 th so hoping he will finally bloody listen but that's 10 days away. :(

Ellisisland · 05/07/2014 17:24

I had a scan at 7 weeks and they could see a heartbeat then. My EPU will see you from 4 weeks but I had a private scan at 9 weeks and the sonographer there said that they could refer me to the EPU if they spotted anything as well.

silverine · 05/07/2014 17:43

Hi tinx i found these 2 sites which are great showing what can be seen when on scans: www.baby2see.com/development/ultrasound_sonogram/first_trimester_scans.html and www.brooksidepress.org/Products/Military_OBGYN/Ultrasound/1st_trimester_ultrasound_scannin.htm

badger meant to send hugs earlier on. Please take care of yourself and keep up the posifrickentivity! Hope you get there soon! Thanks

Babytinx11 · 05/07/2014 18:48

davidtennatmistress my gp sent referred me to the EPU when I went in and told her I was pregnant keep asking Hun and maybe if it's a group practice your with ask to see a different doctor :)

Thanx sliverine I'll take a look at those I am so nervous :(

AddictedToRadley · 05/07/2014 19:51

Tinx I saw a heartbeat when I was 6+4. You usually see a heartbeat during week 6. Good luck and hope it's sorted soon.

David I had it really bad the other night. Was sat on the toilet for a couple of hours in the small hours crying and rocking as I was having the worst stomach cramps and cold sweats that I could remember. I don't even remember it being that bad when I was hospitalised with severe salmonella food poisoning in the Dominican Republic!! Honestly it was hideous. Still struggling with the sickness big time but the diarrhoea seems to have gone the other way now! Biscuit

Pregnancy is so hard sometimes!!

I can't believe how big my tummy is getting and I'm only 9 weeks tomorrow!! I know I showed early with DS but this is something else! :) Perhaps I'm showing so much because this will be my 14th pregnancy?

amicablemoomin · 05/07/2014 20:54

sorry to hear your news badger

NerdyBird · 05/07/2014 21:15

Just thought I would pop back on to let you know we have a name -Abigail.
Finding it hard to leave the thread as I still feel I'm supposed to be here. Would have been 38+1 today, but instead I have a 4 day old baby! Surreal.

Really sorry to hear your news badger take care

HollyBen · 05/07/2014 22:35

Congratulations nerdy and a lovely name. I hope you are all adjusting to you new life. It's hard but so rewarding x

So very sorry badgers. You positivity is an inspiration. Take care and hope you are back soon x

I now have a date for an 8 week scan. EPU were lovely on the phone. Fx this is my second positive epu experience.

Cuppachaplz · 05/07/2014 23:07

So sorry for you badger, such posifrickentivity! I'm so sure we'll see you again soon! hugs x

Lovely name nerdy :)

tinx I was told 6w, didn't see one at 6 and freaked, was told then DURING week 6. Saw HB next time, so at 7 one should definitely see one. Good luck x

radley sorry you're in the vomtastic pits! wishing you better soon. Do you think many PGs make a difference? I am on pg 16, but not got past 6-8w for the last 8. Never had weight gain before, and I am currently bigger than when full term with DS. I had nightmares last night about going for 20 week scan and bring told, 'nope, no baby, diet you fat bint!'

tannyLoo · 06/07/2014 08:46

Bleargh... who turned up the smells? Fuck me, this had better mean it's a healthy one. I haven't felt this rank since I was pg with ds!

Happy days...Envy Grin

GandTnow · 06/07/2014 08:52

Morning all, I think I might need a bit of a fish slap please and maybe some advice too. I'm 7+5 today and have started getting lower back pain. I had this last time (when I had a mmc) from about this stage and so I've pretty much convinced myself that this is a sign its all going to go tits up again.

I had a scan on Tuesday and saw heartbeat and all, but last time the baby had died at 8 weeks so of course I'm pretty convinced that this is happening again. I don't have any bleeding or abdominal cramps, just really scared. Has anyone else had this? Could it be because of my 'retroverted uterus'? Should I call EPU? Wait to see GP? or just wait a bit?

fedupofrainydays · 06/07/2014 08:59

Knackered here. Hen do yesterday and didn't get home til 1 am. Thank goodness dh has got up with ds this morn!
But so tired and everything aches!!

g&t I had / have back pain and doesn't necc mean mc. But can see why you are worried. I really don't think gp or EPU would listen unless there was blood / pain was really bad. It could be due to uterus so stretching is in the back. My was retro and then changed to something else! My advice would be for you sanity to book a private scan after the 8 wk mark )or persuade EPU to scan you again) to help reassure you made it past that milestone.

Davidtennantmistress · 06/07/2014 09:01

G n t, I have lower back pain and failure for hips to walk sometimes, it's like having the body of a 80 year old, are you keeping your back/lumber region warm? If not try keeping it warm and toasty to see how it helps. M.c reduces significantly once a heart beat is seen. :)

Trix, there's several others in the practice however this is one doctor I've been seeing for months ref my fertility issues, I had the thought last night to ring up and say I had been bleeding (soo very wrong) which then led to a dream of having another m.c and me waking up freaking out as boobs are no longer sore, sickness has majorly subsided.

Nerdy, love the name. :)

Still queazy, will be ringing ultrasound dept tomorrow as soon as I get into work after my morning meeting with the boss. It's month end so could do without the distraction, but likewise the stress will be too much otherwise.

Psmith83 · 06/07/2014 09:06

Hi all,
I've been lurking on this thread for a while, and have found some strength in all of your strength, so thank you. I had a molar pregnancy in Feb which ended in a D&C. Am now 4+3 and reminding myself 'today I am pregnant.'
I have had very few symptoms (as with the last one) just some lightheaded ness and sore nipples.
I'm quite scared.
I'm going on holiday in two weeks, I think I'd be eligible for an EPU scan because of the molar, but I'd only just be 6weeks then, and as I'll be out of the country for 14 days,I'd be about 8w when I got back. I want the best chance at seeing a heartbeat! Last time, I started bleeding (light) at 7 weeks and when I went in there was very strange things going on in my uterus. Confused (Including no HB) Do not want the agony of wondering if it's no HB because of molar pregnancy or no HB because it's too early. I think I shall call EPU and see what's what. (Also had v light spotting Friday and yesterday, only when I wipe, so only 70% freaked out by that, not 100% freaked out) Grin

GandTnow · 06/07/2014 09:50

Hi Psmith, congratulations! It's always good to keep chanting 'today I am pregnant'!

I think you're right about phoning the EPU and seeing what they suggest. Don't worry too much about symptoms at this stage - plenty of time for vomming later on Grin

GandTnow · 06/07/2014 09:52

Thank you fedup and davidt, I just can't quite face the idea of going through all of that again. I think I'll do what you say and book a private scan for nine weeks to get past the dreaded 8 week painc zone.

Psmith83 · 06/07/2014 09:59

Lol thanks Gand! Ha ha

Davidtennantmistress · 06/07/2014 10:23
