I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

Thank you Smile
Yep pretty quick once it got going, contractions woke me at 4:30, every 10 mins. Then every 5 mins from 7am onwards. Got to maternity unit 10am, examined and found to be 5cm. Didn't have to have another internal as they could see contractions getting more and stronger. Got in pool with gas and air and she was born in the pool at lunchtime, 12:49.
Amazing experience, still can't quite believe she's here!
DH was a great support. DS brought up by grandma after school about 4:30, very proud big bro. He and DH have just gone home, we are staying overnight as few stitches for me and DD needs to have paediatrician checks in morning before we go home. DD sleeping now and I know I should try and sleep too but replying to some of the messages on my mobile and just too excited to sleep!!

AlwaysDancing1234 · 03/07/2014 20:46

Oh and she was a decent size, 8lb 6oz (I think!) luckily less than her brother who was 9lb 2oz!

seasaltbaby · 03/07/2014 21:59

Hurrah!! Congratulations always-you got there!! Sounds like a brilliant birth experience & yes u will be far too excited to sleep-I was exactly the same first night too! Well done you & enjoy this momentSmileSmile

Glad you're ok roseberry & feeling lot more calm & collected about it all, your time is coming....hang in there. Hope you're coping in the heat!!

evertonmint · 03/07/2014 22:05

Congratulations always! The first night is magical, if exhausting, as you try to get to know the new person you made and try to get them to learn how to sleep Smile

AlwaysDancing1234 · 03/07/2014 22:51

Thankyou
To you ladies still waiting, I know it feels like you will be pregnant forever but then it happens and you wonder what all the fuss about due dates and sweeps etc was all about!

Huffpot · 04/07/2014 06:33

always huge congratulations! I'm so glad she's finally here! Thanks Thanks Thanks

Mummymidwife87 · 04/07/2014 07:37

Congratulations, sounds a fab experience.

I'm 41+1 and had a melt down last night... literally. The heat is hideous, spd is intermittently awful where i get stuck in a position, baby will never come out.. im starting to believe there isnt actually a baby there.. this is just what i look like

AlwaysDancing1234 · 04/07/2014 20:03

Thanks everyone. I know it's hard but hang in there. At times you felt like the baby will never arrive then all of sudden pregnancy is over. Look after yourselves

seasaltbaby · 05/07/2014 14:14

Thinking of u today roseberry-hope all going well so far, baby time soon Smile

frankiebuns · 05/07/2014 16:00

This is my 2nd and last pregnancy I wwnt through the heat of summer 3 years ago so think id learn but no! I had enough at 28 weeks but seriously ghot the hump now! My feet and legs look like tree trunks so now in fetching disabled shoes cos nothing else fits I had celulitis last week and I nearly went to pieces over it thankfully its subsided but the heart burn by christ that's intense think I'm either growing rapunzel or she has her feet on my bile duct and is finding this funny! I can't wait to evict her!

RoseberryTopping · 05/07/2014 16:29

Thanks Sea :) just hooked up to a monitor now, got to wait 20 mins before first pessary. Fingers crossed it works it's magic!

How far are you now Frankie? I feel for you, this heat has been awful. I had everything crossed for a dreadful summer as well!

I am waiting for news of Roseberry.

ilovemonstersInc · 06/07/2014 08:34

Never been over. Had ds1 at 38+5, ds2 induced at term and this 1 will be induced too.

Ive seen roseberrys birth thread and she had a boy at around 4 and he weighed 8lb9 Smile

AlwaysDancing1234 · 06/07/2014 12:13

ilovemonsters thanks for update - congrats Roseberry FINALLY!!
Sorry for the random incomplete posts yesterday, phone wasn't cooperating! Enjoying being at home adjusting to life as a family of 4. DD is 3 days old already, milk starting to come in so breasts are enormous and bit painful and it's hurting a bit when she latches on but going to persevere. Midwife visited this morning and all fine, just need to fiddle about with latch position a bit as she has a mild tongue tie.
Hope everyone is doing well and not too hot and bothered

seasaltbaby · 06/07/2014 12:33

YAY! Congrats roseberry! You are no longer fed up & pregnantSmile hope all went ok & u can come back to tell us how it went.

Always-yes it's really hard when milk first comes in-really hurts & baby struggles to latch. Give it another 24-48 hours & it will already be better. I used ice packs & ibruprofen to help with the pain & it did help a bit. Hope you're enjoying being a four-we're three weeks in now & I'll be honest that it's hard work-baby pretty easy but toddler tantrums less so! DD has turned into a bit of a madam since ds arrived! All worth it of courseWink

RoseberryTopping · 06/07/2014 16:05

Thanks everyone, sorry been all over the place letting family know, beating tiredness and having family round already.

I'm so glad he's finally out, the relief is immense! By the time labour actually started it was only 2 1/2 hours, managed to do it all in the bath with only gas and air, such a lovely water birth experience.

Will come back later to read through and maybe update properly, once things have calmed down here!
