I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

Time is a funny thing indeed- as Everton says it moves so slow when overdue & it seems like it will last forever. Now baby is here it is moving far too quickly, the days are whizzing by & he's grown so much already in 2 weeks. Being overdue is so tough but you've got the best times to come Smile

coffeetofunction · 29/06/2014 21:22

Oh I've just found you ladies but please can I hobble on board.... 35+4 & sooo sick of being pregnant but feel selfish complaining Hmm

Huffpot · 29/06/2014 21:54

Welcome coffee!
Sunday night, 39 weeks today and dreading the next week of the school run with EVERYONE commenting and telling me not long to go! I can feel my irritation already!

coffeetofunction · 29/06/2014 22:20

Huffpot, that is the worst comment..."not long now".... How do you know? Do you know when my baby is coming? Do you have any idea how long a day is when your pregnant & uncomfortable? AngryConfused (Little rant there)

ch1a · 29/06/2014 23:22

Ah I have so much sympathy for you ladies still waiting for the arrival of your beautiful babies. Despite everything that happened for me I am finally out the other side all healthy and happy.

We spent 7 days on postnatal ward and it felt like 7 years. But finally had the all clear and left yesterday. Feeding going relatively well...probably have thrush and feel like I have less milk than yesterday but I think I'm overthinking it as plenty of wet nappies etc.

For everyone still being kept waiting I really hope these babies turn up soon!

And thank you all for kind words last week. It was such a testing time and whilst I couldn't bring myself to engage much with anyone in real life or online it was good to read supportive comments.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 30/06/2014 02:33

Hi coffee and huffpot those helpful comments are soooo annoying aren't they, I guess people just don't know what to say!
ch1a so glad to hear you are at home at last, have been thinking of you and your little one. Be kind to yourself and just enjoy every precious moment with your baby. Sending virtua hugs, flowers and cake!!

Mummymidwife87 · 30/06/2014 05:00

40+4 and not as fed up as I was last week. Am coming to terms with being the last pregnant standing out of my friends and enjoying the quiet times with OH.

Am in countdown mode for an induction date at around 42/40 and making plans for that now. I know this will change and I'm sure I'll get all tearful again, especially now the weekend is over and I'm home alone again.
Have plans to see a friend for cake this afternoon.

goofygoober · 30/06/2014 08:57

Jumping on board - very excited about DC4, but have been feeling really crappy all weekend. 37 + 2, loads of quite painful BH and horrid tummy ache. DH not in the least understanding and snipped when I said I was going for a lie down or early night. Didn't even ask how I was feeling before leaving for work this morning Hmm

Just under 3 weeks to possible induction, 2 till stretch and sweep. I'm not going over due to age/history. My lovely DS3 is very demanding and has me run ragged all day long! Looks like I'm going to get more snips later, when I say I'm off to bed early again.

Feel bad for complaining - but need to vent - lots of deaf ears here.

doublechocchip · 30/06/2014 09:23

Hi to everyone, well 40+5 now huffpot coffee Im really starting to dislike those comments as well, luckily between my dh, sis and friends I haven't had to do the school run for a week so am in hiding ha!

I had two friends texting me last night saying they had a feeling the baby would be here today I mean why say that?? I know they mean well but people have been texting me their 'feelings' and intuitions now for the last 2 weeks, its getting old.

Going to do more organising today then its dh's birthday tomorrow so need to go and get him a couple of bits sorted.

I feel like I'm just gearing myself up for being induced now and trying to read up on it all as haven't been with the other 2. Not going to lie, pretty scared by the prospect of it all.

Mummymidwife87 · 30/06/2014 10:18

Ive been lucky so far and not getting the daily texts asking if babys here yet.

RoseberryTopping · 30/06/2014 14:06

Had my 2nd sweep today! Well, 2 of them as the student MW had a go first but couldn't quite manage. Baby is fully engaged so could happen any time now, still trying to not raise my hopes too much though and just counting down till Saturday induction day. Hopefully if I do get induced it'll be quite quick with him being ready.

Just wondered, did you get sorted with getting your mum home IWill?

I'm so glad you're both back home ch1a :) bet it feels so much more relaxing now! Soon it'll just be a bad memory for you. We had a period of time with DS where he was in intensive care for a week or so and it does take a long time to get over and come to peace with, just try not to dwell on it and move forward with your lovely baby now.

Ooh imagine if it came on your DHs birthday Double! That'd be a lovely present :)

Huffpot · 30/06/2014 14:31

double am very jealous of you being able to hide out.
I had an induction with DS1 and hated it. ..I think I had a bad experience and my waters broke at eleven pm and DP wasn't allowed back till I got moved to the delivery suite at 7am the next day and no one paid me much mind so I was hallucinating with dehydration by the time he got there as I vomit constantly in labour and ended up with an epidural. DS2 was triggered by a sweep and a much more positive experience.
induction is now one of my biggest fearsBlush
Here's hoping the sweep works roseberry!
I have mine booked for the 9th but am going to try and push it back as I don't think my body will be ready then of that makes sense?

AlwaysDancing1234 · 30/06/2014 17:21

Hi everyone, we are all getting closer surely!
Goofy hope you manage to get your early night, sounds like you need it. Think you need to have a stern word with your OH as surely if you have 3 DC already he should appreciate you may need to rest a bit!
Good luck Roseberry hope the sweep gets things going. I've got midwife tomorrow so will have my 2nd sweep then too so I'm keen to hear how you get on!

goofygoober · 30/06/2014 19:20

Thanks Always, I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed re my sweep soon as feel terribly anxious about being induced. Though at 39 weeks, I doubt it will do anything. Hopefully, this baby will come all by itself Smile

RoseberryTopping · 30/06/2014 20:10

Oh that does sound awful Huff! Not surprised you are wary of another induction. I'm also a bit nervous as really don't think this sweep will do anything and was induced last time as well. I remember it being extremely overwhelming and I felt totally out of control. I've heard that 2nd babies can be a lot easier to induce though so am clinging on to that.
Will you be 40 weeks on the 9th? Maybe just wait and see how you feel at the time but if you don't feel ready then I'm sure they won't force you to have one.

Good luck for tomorrow always, I would have thought you'd made a lot of progress since the last one.

OP posts:
Huffpot · 30/06/2014 21:26

Always will be thinking of you tomorrow!
How far did they leave it between 1st and 2nd sweeps? Its been 4 years for me so I've forgotten!

Roseberry my second labour was a dream compared to the first one! He was 9'8 and flew out in 20 minutes pushing! Someone has recommended lots and lots of fresh pineapple to me...worth a shot?

I'll be 40 weeks on the 6th so only just....I have to organise DP to come with me just in case I have it and labour starts! It started within 5 minutes with DS2. It's just hard as he's self employed so don't want to waste time he doesn't have being so busy :/

AlwaysDancing1234 · 01/07/2014 07:13

Thanks everyone. First sweep was Wednesday last week when I was 40 weeks exactly. Just asked them to have a quick check what was going on as I had been having bunches of contractions and lots of low down pressure and that's when midwife said I was 3cm. She offered to do a sweep while she was there so to speak, it did seem to step things up a bit but still no baby yet!
Second sweep today at 40+6
The midwives keep saying they can't believe I haven't had this baby yet, lots happening but contractions always seem to stop after a couple of hours.
I'm not to worried just yet, happy to have sweep today to see if it moves things along but I went 2 weeks over with DS so not expecting miracles.
If I get to 42 weeks they'll start pushing for induction which is when I'll start stressing as really would rather go in to labour naturally.

Mummymidwife87 · 01/07/2014 07:35

40+5 today. Seeing consultant, I suspect this will include a sweep. But then I also suspect my cervix will be closed

Huffpot · 01/07/2014 13:18

always what a long drawn out time you're having!

Would be lovely to go into labour naturally. ..will be thinking of you! Thanks

Iwillorderthefood · 01/07/2014 14:32

Wow always, I am pretty sure that when it all really kicks off that this is going to be a quick birth.

Roseberry, my mum has decided that she is fit enough to go home by national express coach. I have tried telling her she is more than a little bit mad, but to no avail. So I shall accompany them to the bus station tomorrow, and they should be on their way. To be fair she is a lot better than when she first came out. I have just done an internet grocery shop with her, so that she has stuff at home without needing to do a supermarket shop, given that she will not be able to drive the car.

Feeding is still not great, but I am not stressing about it, she is putting on weight with our mixture of breast milk, fed directly from me and via a bottle, plus formula. Eventually my milk is going to tail off and that will be that.

Huffpot · 01/07/2014 16:19

I think you've done brilliantly Iwill I have complete admiration for you for battling through it all.
I don't think I'll be that brave if it not working for me this time round (again!)

The internet shop is a great idea for your mum as well!

AlwaysDancing1234 · 01/07/2014 17:08

Thanks Huff had the second sweep this morning. Now 4cm (was 3cm at last weeks appointment) and my cervix is favourable apparently. Midwife said I should go in to labour very soon... but she said that last week!
Going to DS school concert tomorrow so hoping we don't upstage the school kids!!
mummymidwife did you have sweep today? Anything happening?
I'm hoping you are right about the quick birth Iwill although not too quick I hope! Glad your mum is feeling better, good idea about the online shop. I think you've done brilliantly to persevere with the feeding and it sounds like your DD is thriving so try not to stress about it.

RoseberryTopping · 01/07/2014 20:30

Cor, 4cm is nearly halfway there! I really think that when it happens it's going to be quick and easy for you. Get some rest tonight, you don't know when you'll get it again :)

Oh bless your mum, she probably doesn't want to be a burden. She sounds lovely. I also think you've done great with the feeding, and if your milk tails off then at least you gave it your best shot and baby has had all that lovely colostrum.

I've got myself prepared that I am not going to go in labour naturally, I really think it's going to be another induction. Bit sad about it but trying to think positive. Hopefully it won't be a long drawn out thing as he's so low down and ready to go, he just needs that extra push. The main thing I'm nervous of is wanting another epidural. It was so intense all of a sudden last time that I don't know how I would have got through it without it, but then I was stuck on my back for pushing and felt horrible not being able to move. Hope I can be brave enough to avoid it this time.

Baby Darcy born today at 1:35pm and on my dh's birthday! Had a show at 3am and went from there. Was the best labour I've had midwife was awesome, no tearing/stitches at all. So happy and I feel so much better after it all than previous births! She's a gorgeous girl and I'm loving having her all to myself at hospital for tonight before the craziness begins when we get home tomorrow. Am on a birth high!

Hope it all hurries soon for you ladies x

AlwaysDancing1234 · 01/07/2014 20:56

I know what you mean about induction Roseberry
I've been booked in to the Maternity Ward next Monday when I will be 41+5 as per their policy. Midwife said I won't be made to have induction if not wanted but I feel that the consultant will probably bully me into it by saying greater risk of complications etc. However it even says on the hospitals own website that induction increases the chances of you needing a c section, epidural, episiotomy, forceps and all the rest of it. As DS was 2 weeks late I think I just have long pregnancies and would rather be monitored then left alone to go into labour naturally.
Was discussing it with DH earlier and he just says "let's cross that bridge if we come to it" and just hope she arrives by then. Getting a bit stressed about it now but nothing we can do except wait I guess!
