I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

Always you put what I was trying to say so much better.

RoseberryTopping · 20/06/2014 17:07

Oh ch1a, sorry it's not going to plan :( it must be a massive shock for you. Hopefully by now you've got your baby safely out though, and that really is the main thing that you are both safe.

Had my sweep today but not feeling hopeful that it'll do anything. She managed to get in and feel the baby's head and said it was quite favourable, so not sure if that's good or just normal for a 2nd baby? Sat bouncing away on my ball now in the hope it does something!
Got to think of something to keep me occupied tomorrow, DP is away at the wedding and my friend is kindly taking DS off my hands for the day so I'm all alone!

Ch1a - what a shock that must have been. i hope all is going well and that you have your baby cuddled up on your chest now.

Not much to report here. 2 kind friends did school run this morning and afternoon for me so I didn't have to deal with anyone's inanities today :)

No symptoms today apart from se stabbing pains in my cervix over the last hour.

Booked an acupuncture session for tomorrow. I know 2 people who went into labour within hours of seeing this lady, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

TheOriginalWinkly · 20/06/2014 17:55

Oh ch1a, I hope everything is ok and that you're holding your baby now.

I thought maybe my waters had possibly started breaking today, but I think actually I'm just leaking wee a little bit when I sneeze/cough Blush

mummy2beJune2014 · 20/06/2014 18:12

I can relate too...
I'm 39 weeks 2 days and tumors feeling tight keeps getting Sharpe twinges at the bottom of my tummy and the sides. He hasn't fully dropped yet which is annoying. Me... He's 4/5 engaged but am sometimes feeling intense pressure on my pelvic region feel like I need to pee all the time and sometimes when I go only a little bit comes out or nothing at all... I don't know what's going on is this a sign that labor is near or is it just normal??

ch1a · 20/06/2014 18:29

So after waiting 5 hours for a second opinion the consultant did another examination and scan and told me head is engaged. It's just an emotional rollercoaster. I made a bit of a fuss about all the waiting around on the ward and I am surely getting a reputation around here for being demanding. I now have a room and induction is back on. Had yet another sweep and now awaiting atom...

TheOriginalWinkly · 20/06/2014 18:38

Oh what a ballache! I'm sure its not you being demanding, more like a day - long clusterfuck. Not surprised you're all over the place.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 20/06/2014 19:10

Iwill not at all, just read your post and it made perfect sense to me!
Roseberry keep bouncing! I'm going to do the same
everton let me know how acupuncture goes, I'm very interested
ch1a good news in a way, no c section now. They really are messing you about aren't they, I think you have every right to be demanding
I'm the same mummytobe exact same date as you too so I bloody well hope it is a sign of something!
DS (aged 6) reckons the baby will be born tomorrow, hoping he's right! If it's not our baby that appears I hope its one of yours Smile

AlwaysDancing1234 · 20/06/2014 19:11

winkly I think I may have had the same leaking problem a tiny bit too, baby is so low now I think my bladder is squashed to a thimble size so need to wee every 5 mins!

seasaltbaby · 20/06/2014 19:45

Oh my goodness ch1a, what a day! A complete emotional roller coaster....and at the end of it will be your beautiful baby! Not long to go now

Keeping fingers crossed for you too roseberry that sweep has done the trick.

Well we've survived the first week with our newborn DS. Today I'm feeling totally drained but mostly due to dd full on day of tantrumsConfused she's brilliant with her brother but really testing our boundaries, there have been tears all round! It's to be expected I know but god it's hard! Now got feet up with a cuppa & popcorn & crap tv, phew.

Iwillorderthefood · 20/06/2014 20:03

Oh my goodness ch1a hope it all works out soon.

Everton it will happen

Winkly and always this is how my waters started to break put a pad on and check what it smells like. If it is waters you need to let the labour ward know.

I had a mw visit today. The fb help was useless, she got DD latched on properly on my sore breast despite me saying it is going to hurt. This ended with me screaming in agony. Dr thinks I have thrush. With the feeding drama not having anytime to spend with my other two children. More or less decided to stop bf but feel devastated as I have really enjoyed being so close to my beautiful girl.

May try once more after the weekend, but til then am expressing my milk and chucking it. DD has diarrhoea and can't help thinking its due to is chopping and changing her feeds btwn ff and breast milk. However I will as I say try again once more on Monday. I hope things have calmed down a bit by then. I have too many demands on me to concentrate on this.

evertonmint · 21/06/2014 03:05

Waters went just before midnight. Meconium in them so I'm in hosp for the duration now. Baby seems fine, may be starting drip soon which I'm slightly stressed about as I've had a bad drip/epidural experience before. So hoping contractions get going in earnest without - having a few at the moment but quite early days.

Will keep you posted but looks like I'll be having a midsummer baby :)

Iwillorderthefood · 21/06/2014 03:27

What a beautiful date for a birthday Everton. I hope you get your wish for contractions to start up. All births are different so even if you need a drip there is no saying the same would happen as last time.

Your baby is going to be here soon! No more bump comments!

TheOriginalWinkly · 21/06/2014 05:42

Good luck Everton, hope all goes well.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 21/06/2014 06:04

Good luck everton summer solstice today so it really will feel like the 'longest day' for you but your baby is nearly here. Try not to panic if you do end up on the drip, doesn't necessarily mean it will be a bad experience like before.
Iwill I've got a pad just in case but nothing seems to be happening yet. You gave the BF a good shot and persevered despite the pain. It's now about doing the best thing for you and your DD and if that means formula feeding with a happy pain free mummy then that's surely better than struggling on.
Thinking of you both

evertonmint · 21/06/2014 07:03

Well we have my body a good chance. Regular contractions every 6 mins or so but not had much effect on dilation so we're going with the drip in the next half hour.

Passed a lot if meconium but that has cleared now and the baby is doing well so fewer worries than when I first came in. They've given me breakfast and I've had a short nap, so time to get going!

Iwillorderthefood · 21/06/2014 07:35

Good luck Everton your busby will be here soon.

Iwillorderthefood · 21/06/2014 08:52

I am sure you are hoping for a baby not a busby. Sorry about that.

seasaltbaby · 21/06/2014 10:48

Good luck Everton! Hopefully meet your baby very soon SmileSmileSmile

Sorry you're no further forward with bf Iwill, but as always says formula may be best for you both now. As I'm finding too, it's so much harder to concentrate on bf properly with other dc around! The only thing I can think is to express & give her that in a bottle for now & then try again when nipples have recovered?

Iwillorderthefood · 21/06/2014 12:18

Hi seasalt, that is exactly what I am doing, my supply is great so it would be s shame to waste it, but with the other two DC here I am terrified she is going to tip off my nipple like DD2 used to. The other concern is winding it down that is going to take a bit if effort too. My parents are here for another week, then DH takes over for a week, so I have a bit if a chance, however I do not want this to ruin the bond with DD3, which I know it will if I keep messing about with expressing. Experienced this with DD1 as I expressed for 6 months with her, and I just did not bond with her, had a terrible birth experience too which did not help.

Hope we hear newsr from ch1a and Everton soon, as well as Gemini.

Iwillorderthefood · 21/06/2014 13:01

Rip off not tip off

evertonmint · 21/06/2014 17:14

Baby boy born this afternoon weighing 9lb3 GrinManaged drip without epidural for 3 hours to get to 6cm. Had epidural as so tired from no sleep, a bit weird but much better than DS1 and an hour later i was mobile enough to deliver him kneeling up - about halfway through a contraction I realised his head was coming out without even really pushing! Gravity and 2 prior 9lbers were a big help today Grin

Iwillorderthefood · 21/06/2014 18:08

That is fabulous news congratulations Everton. I am so pleased you had a better experience with the drip this time. I am so pleased for you, enjoy your beautiful baby.

seasaltbaby · 21/06/2014 18:36

Congratulations Everton! That's brilliant news-glad it all went well. That's a good weight indeed!! Smile

AlwaysDancing1234 · 21/06/2014 18:50

Congratulations on your new baby boy everton I'm very jealous! Have lots of cuddles and cake!!

I had a 'show' this morning about 9:30am, never thought I would get so excited about a bit of mucus!! Have been quite uncomfortable today, lots of pressure low down and contractions every 10-15 minutes most if the day but just need them to get more frequent and more productive! So sick of waiting and not quite 40 weeks yet!
