I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

Yay always hope this is it

Geminiwitch22 · 22/06/2014 07:45

After nearly 24 hour induction and 13 hour active labour where I was told I had done 70% of pushing due to ineffective contractions. Using only gas and air one shot of pethadin. 4 days in hospital, Baby Gem (little boy) was born 7lbs 9oz at 546am on 19th june

AlwaysDancing1234 · 22/06/2014 07:51

Congratulations on your baby boy Gemini, that was an epic labour and hospital stay wasn't it! I hope you are not too exhausted and are getting well looked after. Sending hugs to you and your little one

AlwaysDancing1234 · 22/06/2014 07:52

I'm still pregnant, baby too c

Iwillorderthefood · 22/06/2014 07:53

Congratulations Gemini! I hope that you are home now, and that you are recovering well.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 22/06/2014 07:55

Gah posted too early!
Meant to say I'm still pregnant, think baby is too comfy in there. I've got visions of going 2 weeks over like I did with DS and it's not an inviting prospect. Yet more stop start contractions yesterday evening/night. Surely they've gotta start getting her to move out soon right?!

Iwillorderthefood · 22/06/2014 07:56

Always it will be your turn very soon. Enjoy the nice weather today, maybe do something you know you will not be able to do with a newborn, it will happen soon.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 22/06/2014 08:17

Thanks I will I'm going to resolve to kick myself up the backside and stop moaning! I'm so grateful to have got so far in this pregnancy after lots of early problems and I know the end is in sight now, I'm just impatient!
How are things going with you today?

Iwillorderthefood · 22/06/2014 08:54

Am ok thanks, breastfeeding still not working but nipple getting better hope to try again this week if she'll still do it. My girls are enjoying their weekend had the paddling pool out yesrerday. We need to resolve the breastfeeding issue as we cannot leave the house otherwise.

La lecheleague is sending someone to see me to try to help this week.

seasaltbaby · 22/06/2014 10:57

Congratulations Gemini! Wow that labour does sound epic but you got there in the end, well done you! You can enjoy your beautiful boy now Smile

Sorry you're still hanging in there always! But will be your turn soon- enjoy the sunshine today & eat lots ice cream etc.

That's great you've got someone from LLL coming to see you Iwill, good on you for persevering. I hope they can help, but if not you know you've tried your best to continue. Bf is so intense!
We've already resorted to using a dummy here-DS loves to suck (well all babies do I know) & it seems to help him to sleep. I was hoping not to as took ages to wean DD from it but I'll deal with that battle in the future....

Mummymidwife87 · 22/06/2014 11:40

I am so bloody fed up at 39+3.
I have cried all morning, bf doesnt quite get it.

TheOriginalWinkly · 22/06/2014 12:15

Congratulations everton and gemini on your lovely baby boys Flowers

39+3 here, baby still very comfy. Had legs waxed on Thursday (ouch), went out for lovely lunch with a friend yesterday, trying to not drive myself round the bend too much :)

Illhaveabpleasebob · 22/06/2014 12:53

Can I join in?
40+4 and bored bored bored. Not particularly uncomfortable tbh which is a blessing but have done everything I need to and struggling to fill my time.
Thought it was all starting the other night but all came to nothing.
And if I have one more baby name conversation I'm going to spontaneously combust.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 22/06/2014 13:13

iwill hope the laleche can help but if not at least you know you've given it your best shot. Hope you are not in too much pain.
Thanks seasalt hmmm icecream sounds good!
mummymidwife I know how you feel, I couldn't stop crying on Friday for no particular reason other than I was fed up of constant on off twinges and just want my baby to be born now. Sending unmumsnetty hugs x
Welcome I'llhaveab , you Winkly and I are all willing these babies to get a move on now!

Iwillorderthefood · 22/06/2014 16:32

Baby Iwill has thrush in her mouth. So off to the doctor for her. This may mean once treated that we were actually ok with latch (more or less in the first place!!!!)

Winkly, mummy midwife and illhaveab hope those babies come out soon. Meanwhile try to sleep.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 22/06/2014 17:05

Poor baby Iwill but at least you know what the problem is now. Hope she gets better really soon and you can feed again without any discomfort to either of you

evertonmint · 22/06/2014 17:49

Iwill - good to have a diagnosis and I hope this means you can get back on track. Both you and the baby need to be treated otherwise you can keep passing it back between each other so make sure they give meds to you too. Also some GPs can believe thrush doesn't exist from breastfeeding so if you get one being a bit funny be prepared to be stroppy or ask to see another.

Hello everyone else. Congrats Gemini!

I had DS at 40+9 - a long, long wait but completely irrelevant and forgotten now he's here! It will happen for all if you waiting and you'll no longer care about how long you waited!

Will catch up properly later but need to go and feed him and get the older 2 fed and in bed: a busy few hours ahead of us :)

Iwillorderthefood · 22/06/2014 18:14

Thanks Everton, they have already given me a cream to apply to my nipples, but now I have to go back and sort out baby Iwill. So hopefully they will not be funny. It is pretty obvious if you look in her mouth since it is white coated, could not see this when they checked out me, but there is no doubt that it is there!

RoseberryTopping · 22/06/2014 19:51

Wow lots of updates!
Flowers for ch1a, everton and gemini! Congratulations!

I'm very bored too. I'm a SAHM so used to filling my days but it's getting hard now I'm so tired and heavy, I'm just ready for him to be here now so I can get on with lots of lovely baby cuddles. Due date today but am having no signs of anything happening, bit of mucous and that's it. I have had 20,000 texts/phone calls to inform me it's my due date today though!

Hope baby IWill gets sorted at the doctors. Do you think that's why you've had problems feeding?

Huffpot · 22/06/2014 19:54

Have been watching this thread and at 38 weeks today and the most enormous swollen feet finally feel justified to wade in and say me too! The feet are destroying me in this heat and am dreading the nursery walk tomorrow with my two eldest. I can't even flex one of them wails

seasaltbaby · 22/06/2014 19:56

Ah thrush-yes glad it's been picked up & hopefully can get it all sorted soon.

Just realised roseberry not posted much since her sweep-hopefully she's having baby?!?

RoseberryTopping · 22/06/2014 20:20

I'm here seasalt :) no baby yet unfortunately. Think I'm going to go right over and be induced like last time. Looked at my notes and saw I got a bishops score of 4.5 so I'm not feeling too hopeful.

Welcome Huff! Love the name Grin have you tried sitting with them in cool water? Or do they have a scooter or something they could pull you along on?!

OP posts:
Iwillorderthefood · 22/06/2014 20:48

Hi Huff, swollen feet sound tortuous.

Poor you raspberry the weight of those last few days is so hard. I don't think that anyone truly understands how hard it is to keep carrying on when you feel so heavy.

Yes I think in part this has been the issue with feeding. However I do have rubbish nipples in any case, wide, and slightly inverted. Always, yes you are right I have tried very hard to establish bf, so if it does not work after this, I need to throw in the towel and get on with looking after my baby. With all of this hanging around everything is so up in the air, and I need lots of extra help as expressing is so time consuming. I want to start being able to be out and about, having coffee with friends and so on, and if possible being able to easily feed via bf (bf appeals to my lazy nature!).

Huffpot · 22/06/2014 21:10

Hi Roseberry and thanks
Ahhh sweeps...fantastic if you are ready to go. I had one with DS2 and was in labour within 5 minutes. Midwife has booked mine for 4 days after my due date so am going to negotiate with them and try and move it as I just don't think it'll work so early. I was 41 + last time.
They did it too early with DS1 due to a cock up with the dates and it was no good and he ended up being induced as well.
I'll cross everything that isn't puffed and swollen for you!

I just hosed them off and its eased slightly but I feel ever so pretty (not!)
I did suggest the mummy on their scooter thing the other day and the looks of disgust and vehement protests mean its a no good...still can't blame a girl for trying!

BF is amazing when it works...was no good for me Iwill but am aiming on trying again. My friend has not long had her 4th and makes it look so damn easy

ch1a · 23/06/2014 06:47

So I ended up with arom And they wanted to give 2 hours for things to start. I asked for a bit longer. Then they used the drip but after many hours there was no progress at all. Then my heart rate rocketed and I got a fever and shook like a leaf so went for a scary crash c section. Now we are both on antibiotics and they had to do a lumbar puncture yesterday on him to see why his infection levels are increasing. I'm generally crying a lot and being distressed by the thought of him being ill. Some staff lovely and understanding, some just telling me I need to be less stressed. Very tough all round.
