I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

I really thought we were getting somewhere earlier today: went out for a two-hour walk around the woods with DP and was having 4-5 contractions in every 10mins, most of which were pretty excruciating and the best of which were more-or-less bearable. Unfortunately this dwindled away to pretty much nowt when we came back home and I dared to sit down for a bit, only to start up again when I had a nap - but not nearly so strong or frequent. Sick to death of this now - first started Tuesday night ffs!!

seasaltbaby · 06/06/2014 22:17

God has it been that long, you must be so Confused I'm sure you're doing all you can & just hope you can get some sort of rest, although must be hard.
Not sure what to suggest to help but feeling for you both drama & darkside!! Will keep my fingers crossed for two new babies v soon

dramajustfollowsme · 06/06/2014 23:55

Mine have stopped too. This is day 10 of these stop-start contractions. They are getting quite close together now but just keep stopping.
I've been told it is an irritable uterus and that it can just happen like this but nothing suggested as a solution. I'm only 36+4 weeks but they want me induced at 39. However, another potential 2 1/2 weeks of this is an awful thought.

Darksideofthemoon88 · 07/06/2014 06:56

Is there a point at which the HCPs will say enough is enough and do something?? Mine haven't even been stop-start I wouldn't say (though I'm sure that's awful enough, Drama - they've been constantly there, just varying in frequency and intensity and getting me nowhere further forward! Bloody frustrating! We thought - as did the hospital midwife - that I was going to have our baby on Wed/Thurs and it's now Saturday! Sad

dramajustfollowsme · 07/06/2014 07:26

I've been up since 3:30 with period pain. Paracetamol has not helped and now contractions are building again.
I am so tired. Confused
Darkside, in your position I'd be tempted to go in again and explain how exhausted you are. Surely they should do something or you are not going to have the energy to push the baby out.

Iwillorderthefood · 07/06/2014 07:28

drama I know someone who went to be induced as she was overdue. They tried for three or so days to get her started, and they were about to send her home for a break so that they could start again, when she pointed out to them, that perhaps this was never going to happen, and that they should just cut their losses and give her a c-section. Her argument was that she had basically been up and awake for the best part of those three days and that she would be so tired if her body actually. Started to labour that it would be likely that she would need loads of help anyway. She has had two children, and actually never been in labour. She is really short, and both her babies have been very large. She thinks it would be unlikely she would have been able to deliver naturally in any case.

Perhaps you could emphasize how tired you are, how you think if you endure another 2.5 weeks of this, when you do eventually go into labour you it is unlikely you could endure it due to what has come beforehand. Also remind them that you actually have to look after the baby once it gets here, and if you are so exhausted after all of this, this too is going to nigh on impossible.

I am no t suggesting a c-section, but perhaps you could get the hospital to come to an agreement regarding how long they are going to leave you going through this.

Iwillorderthefood · 07/06/2014 07:29

dark maybe you should consider similar?

evertonmint · 07/06/2014 09:28

You poor ladies :( I've still got the continuous BH (had since Tues night) but there's no pain just discomfort so I know a little how you feel although know it would be so much worse with pain and not sleeping. I can sleep through them, but if I wake for the loo then it takes me a while to get back to sleep as everything is so tight. I feel worse for about an hour when I get up but then gradually get going with the day and cope once I'm up and about and can shift position more easily, but if I move or touch my bump it sets them off. If I had pain and lack of sleep with these as well it would be horrendous. As it is, it is just an irritation at the moment.

I can't think of anything practical to suggest. It might be worth posting on the pregnancy boards to see if anyone has any ideas on what you can do.

TheOriginalWinkly · 07/06/2014 15:21

Any more updates? Lots of sympathy all round Flowers

I am ignoring my BH and pelvic pain and going to the cinema to see X Men. Could be the last chance for a while!

dramajustfollowsme · 07/06/2014 16:33

I managed a sleep for about an hour this afternoon.
The problem is hardly being able to catch my breath. That is really tiring in itself. I just don't know what to do with myself. Confused
I feel quite sick on top of everything else - I think because of the pain and exhaustion.
How are you feeling, darkside?
I totally agree with taking advantage of the opportunity to go to the cinema. Dh and I did that a couple of weeks ago. It was really nice just to be a couple instead of mummy and daddy for a while.
Everton, bh are bad enough though. I had that for the last month of my pregnancy with dd.

Iwillorderthefood · 07/06/2014 21:08

Nothing doing here. Took DD2 to swimming lesson this morning. DD1 has had a friend here all day.

It's my turn to have a lie in tomorrow morning, I am guessing there will not be many more of these when number three is here.

I went for a walk at a lovely little national trust property this pm, got to drive the new car, and I am pleased to say I think we made the right choice.

I do hope that dark and drama have more progress as this protracted start to giving birth is just so exhausting.

seasaltbaby · 08/06/2014 08:16

Nowt to report here either Hmm thought I might be having some very mild contractions in the night but came to nothing. Took dd swimming yesterday & off to an open farm day today so trying to keep busy & active.
I'm v lucky that my DH gives me lie in everyday-mostly cos I'm so grumpy when we're woken at 6am that he rather I stayed in bed ! This morning was 5.45 bless him...enjoying it whilst it lasts as I'm sure we'll all be up at that time soon!
Hope dark & drama are surviving?

TheOriginalWinkly · 08/06/2014 13:17

The cinema was really good and it was lovely seeing my friend but I suffered for it - my train home was cancelled so I had to go a longer way which involved two very painful crossings of railway bridges. My pelvis did not appreciate it and I was exhausted and in agony by the time I got home.

I've taken today off work, my feet are the size of my head and my bowels seem to be having a bit of a clear out (sorry for the tmi!) so I think a day of resting is in order.

Hoping drama & darkside are making some progress or at least getting some rest.

RoseberryTopping · 08/06/2014 14:36

Nothing going on here either unfortunately. Been making the most of DP being home and seeing if sex will kick start things but it's done nothing so far! Just getting a bit nervous about when I do go in to labour if he'll make it back in time, can't imagine doing it without him.

Baby brain is really playing up as well, I'm all over the place!

moomin35 · 08/06/2014 16:18

Are any of your overdue? How many weeks is everyone?

TheOriginalWinkly · 08/06/2014 17:52

Not overdue here, not even really due, I'm only 37+3 but I am sore and tired so shall continue to whinge :)

DH has a rubbish pointless 'leadership' day at work tomorrow, so he would be very pleased if I went into labour tonight Grin

RoseberryTopping · 08/06/2014 18:04

Not overdue either, exactly 38 weeks today. I am massive and hormonal though, plus I love a good whinge.
Had a complete screaming melt down in the car earlier because a strange looking bug was on the dashboard and suddenly flapped at me! DP had to pull over while trying to control his laughter, everyone outside was staring Blush I am NEVER like this with bugs, I don't know what came over me!

Ooh what goes on at a leadership day? Is it where they do trust falls n stuff?

OP posts:
seasaltbaby · 08/06/2014 18:10

2 days til due date here! So not overdue but feeling it now. Seeing mw on tues & think they'll give me a sweep which may get things started....all my family are convinced baby is coming this week, I keep reminding them they may have other ideas!

seasaltbaby · 08/06/2014 18:19

Ah bless you roseberry! Grin

TheOriginalWinkly · 08/06/2014 18:23

I don't know what goes on at a leadership day to be honest. I think there will be quite a bit of chat from senior managers trying to bolster their image amongst the underlings. Anything corporate is DH's nemesis, he's very good at his job but the least corporate person you can imagine, so whatever happens tomorrow he won't like it.

The bug story is funny, sorry. Nothing wrong with a good overreact though.

seasalt my mum rang me up on the 1st of June to say "your baby's coming this month!" Er, probably not if its my first and I'm not due until the 26th, but thanks anyway...

TheOriginalWinkly · 08/06/2014 18:24

On an aside, I have noticed the things I've gone off during pregnancy are suddenly palatable again. The thought of prawns had made me feel sick but I wolfed down a gorgeous pad thai without thinking about it, and I thoroughly enjoyed a sip of DH's beer whereas before, the slightest taste of any alcohol was making me gag.

Iwillorderthefood · 08/06/2014 18:33

I hope that Drama, Darkside and Everton are having some luck, they are very quiet.

I have spent a lovely if tiring afternoon in our local park with the children paddling in streams and me trekking the mile (May be an exaggeration) or so to the bathroom! Beautiful day.

Iwillorderthefood · 08/06/2014 18:34

Original, maybe a sign.

I would prefer it not to happen today as I am really tired.

evertonmint · 08/06/2014 21:38

No luck here Iwill - just a busy weekend! Saw BIL and SIL with their 3 yesterday then strawberry picking and the beach today. Well, I say it was busy but I didn't actually do much of the busy stuff - lots of sitting, lots of eating strawberries Grin Poor DH did all the beach entertainment and barbecuing for our 2 today!

Still got the BH going on but nothing progressing. I am completely convinced I'll be going overdue, quite possibly to the outer reaches again! 39+3 today so at least I know it's only about another 16-17 days at most. Although past experience has shown me that beyond about 3 days overdue time just passes slower and slower. By 12 days over each day seems like a year!

moomin35 · 09/06/2014 07:08

Does anyone know if clareyfarey had her baby yet? I didn't see another post from her?
