I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

My waters broke last night at around 6pm. Since then I have not had one contraction or even much pain. It is very odd.
The hospital wanted me to come in due to everything else that has been going on in the build up. Now I am just playing a waiting game.
Hope everyone else is getting some action.

Iwillorderthefood · 09/06/2014 07:52

I hope that things start to move now. At least there has been some progress, and you know that all the rest of it was moving you to this point.

evertonmint · 09/06/2014 08:14

And now you know you'll have your baby very soon :) A friend's waters broke recently at a similar time of day to you - she didn't go into labour for 20 hours but then all progressed well. Good luck drama!

seasaltbaby · 09/06/2014 09:15

Ooh drama that is good! And a little respite from the contractions but yes, baby is definitely on its way now. Good luck Smile

moomin35 · 09/06/2014 09:23

ooh exciting dramajustfollowsme!!! Smile Lets hope this is the start of something....How many week/days are you now?

TheOriginalWinkly · 09/06/2014 11:03

Oooh drama good luck! Hopefully it won't be long now :)

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 09/06/2014 11:09

Oooh, Drama, good luck! Any cx yet?

I'm not even due yet, much less overdue. 33+5. I'm having an ELCS at 38 weeks (9th July!), though, so I'm getting really impatient now. Keep thinking about what if I go into labour right now, even though I know perfectly well that it's far too early. My next scan is 2 weeks today, which also seems eons away.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 09/06/2014 20:07

Can I please gate crash this thread?! I'm 38 weeks and getting pretty uncomfortable now. Just want to meet our little one. Got all excited earlier as 'tightenings' were coming every 10 minutes then they just fizzled out and only getting the odd one here and there now. Baby is so low I can't help but waddle and just want things to get going now. Hoping that by reading about everyone else having their babies it may trick my brain/body into copying you all!

evertonmint · 09/06/2014 20:24

Hello Always Grin

At mw appt this morning, it turns out this pesky baby has disengaged. Was breech 6 weeks ago, then had turned and gone to 3/5 4 weeks ago and I thought we were getting ready. Then back up to 4/5 a fortnight ago and now floating free. Gah!

Still, I have confirmation that I can be induced at +12 which means I only have 15 days max to go. And I know I have survived that long being pregnant before Grin

Darkside, drama - any progress?

RoseberryTopping · 09/06/2014 21:05

drama must have had hers by now?!

Of course you can Always :) I'm 38 weeks as well and feel a bit daft being so impatient, but like you I'm just desperate to finally meet my baby!

Oh no! I didn't know they could disengage, that must feel seriously frustrating. How many weeks are you now? I've never understood how the engaging thing works, is 4/5 not good?

OP posts:
evertonmint · 09/06/2014 21:44

4/5 is how much of the head they can feel above the pelvis - so 0/5 means head is fully engaged in pelvis, 5/5 is completely free of the pelvis. First babies usually just keep on moving down and lock in place but subsequent babies can do this moving in and out or just never drop in at all until labour commences. DD never went beyond 3/5 and popped back out, and looks like this one is the same. Just frustrating that they've both been taunting me by pretending to engage but then thinking better of it Grin

evertonmint · 09/06/2014 21:45

I'm 39 + 4 by the way, so not too long to go even if I go all the way.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 10/06/2014 08:33

Thank you roseberry!
I've been following the thread and hope drama has her baby by now
Hi everton how frustrating. DD was 3/5 a few weeks ago then moved back to 4/5 at last appointment so hoping she doesn't disengage altogether! Have MW appointment Thursday so keeping everything crossed that she has moved downwards rather than upwards or sideways!
The little ones like to keep us guessing don't they.
Made all the more annoying by the constant "anything happening" and "any sign of baby" calks and messages from irritating but well meaning friends and family. I'm 'only' 38 weeks and went to almost 42 with DS so I imagine I shall be very irritable and fed up if we have to wait another 4 weeks!

seasaltbaby · 10/06/2014 08:46

Right, due date today! Last time I went swimming & did yoga on my due date & dd arrived next day so I'm trying the same & keeping fingers crossed! Also seeing mw who may do a sweep & was told last time it's more effective for second time mums, so we shall see....

Hello alwaysSmile

Hope dark & drama ok, v quiet. I guess either they're still pregnant & fed up of saying, or they have their hands full with the baby-hopefully the latter!

Everton that is v frustrating, naughty babyHmm

RoseberryTopping · 10/06/2014 09:42

Know what you mean always, the constant supply of enquiries asking if you're still pregnant is quite frustrating! Plus people saying lovely things like "Wow, you're enormous!" isn't the best self esteem booster Grin I'm pretty sure I've said similar to other women though Blush

Come on seababy, get pushing that head down! Hope the sweep works for you, you're lucky to be having it, we don't get a sweep round here till 41 weeks with 2nd babies. God knows why!

I'm proud of myself this morning, managed to paint my toe nails all by myself!

OP posts:
TheOriginalWinkly · 10/06/2014 09:56

I don't really mind people saying I'm enormous. I am, inarguably, huge. I have my own centre of gravity. I wouldn't be surprised if a very tiny moon began to orbit me. Even my feet and ankles are huge. The only shoes I can wear are cheap primark flip flops.

Iwillorderthefood · 10/06/2014 11:23

My due date tomorrow, even the children at my DCs' school are starting to ask me when it's coming. DH has complained he is getting it at work. I said try bring the one who is going to participate. The moaning stopped pronto.

DD2 has asked me if I will be ok in hospital. Made me want to cry, poor little thing, she is worried, and just wants things to stay the same.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

On the size front, I keep getting told I a small this brings it's own frustrations, since our bodies allo the baby to grow to a size which it can cope with (for the most part). I feel huge, just want my body back.

evertonmint · 10/06/2014 11:32

I'm bigger than my previous 2 pregnancies yet I feel comfier and both I and two midwives think this one is smaller than my 2 9lbers. DH told me he is officially bored of me being huge - he wouldn't have dared to say that first time round! It is a very good job he does all the cooking and a lot of the child-wrangling at the moment or he would have been really stropped at! However I think I prefer huge to the wrinkly, deflating aftermath. Let's face it - everyone loves a balloon, until it pops Grin

Just bought a couple of comfy non-maternity transition outfits. I'm totally ready for this baby now!

Iwillorderthefood · 10/06/2014 11:52

Everton you are so right, DD2 asked if I would still be big afterwards and before I could answer Dd1 said something along the lines of yes but big and floppy instead of hard. Grin

TheOriginalWinkly · 10/06/2014 11:58

Noooo that's not what's going to happen! The belly will ping back into shape, Hollywood style. I don't mind the belly hugeness too much, so long as I remember to leave enough room between my car and whatever I've parked next to for me to get out :) Its just the feet that are a bit problematic.

I am tempting fate by booking my car into the garage for some (much needed) repairs on Monday. The garage does offer a courtesy car so perhaps fate won't be tempted that much.

RoseberryTopping · 10/06/2014 12:45

I'm with you Original! My belly will be flat and toned within a week of giving birth, none of this flabby, deflated balloon nonsense for me Wink
I am actually looking forward to getting out and doing some exercise and I never thought I would hear myself say that. It'll just be nice to go for a run without feeling like I'm carrying a lead weight. Mind you, I don't plan on doing this straight away. Going to give myself a couple of months to lounge around eating cake and drinking tea :)

OP posts:
TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 10/06/2014 13:30

Yy, my tummy also will just ping back into place and the stretch marks will magically disappear too. Hmm I am also quite looking forward to a bit of exercise - right now the mildest walk makes my bum/hips hurt and exhausts me completely.

evertonmint · 10/06/2014 13:36

Hollywood bellies only ping back into shape straight away because they have lipo at the same time as their C-sections. Fact!

I'm looking forward to proper exercise. I stopped running at 17 weeks mainly because the winter weather got so treacherous - made the fields so muddy and slippy. I carried on with my exercise class until 29 weeks, but am only doing the walk to and from school now - and not every day either! So, I'm looking forward to getting back to something but I will allow myself a summer of eating ice cream and lazing under the parasol first though :)

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 10/06/2014 14:27

I spent between weeks 10 and 18 increasingly crippled with SPD, so exercise was pretty impossible. Then I saw a private physio who re-aligned my hips and suddenly the pain was much more manageable, but sadly my fitness levels had dropped a lot and I still get bum/hip pain if I walk uphill at all (probably because all my muscles have atrophied after 6 or 7 months of inaction) so I can't really do anything right now. So much for my plans for an active pregnancy! I'll do some walking, building up gradually, for the first 8-10 weeks (think it's 10 weeks after a CS for starting strenuous exercise) and then give the Shred a go.

seasaltbaby · 10/06/2014 15:04

Well I didn't get a sweep after all today-it is at 41 weeks which are the nice guidelines apparently. We did discuss & they would have done if I'd insisted but I declined that pleasure. Something to look forward to next week if I'm still waiting! I'm feeling pretty calm & relaxed about whole thing today-baby will come when it's ready-but DH is starting to become a nervous wreck waiting now so it's me reassuring him!!

Yes also looking forward to doing some more exercise, other than swimming that is! I was getting quite into my Davina DVDs before I got pregnant but didn't keep it up for long once we got the bfp. I doubt v much my stomach will be pinging anywhere but downwards afterwards-still big but flabby is about right I'm sureHmm

I also don't like the comments about my body-yes I am huge but I don't need reminding thanks! And yes there is definitely only one in there!!
