I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

I spent a lot of the day with a 3 month old, feeling more impatient now! But equally I still haven't really had any signs that this baby will come out soon, though I'm still hoping the baby could come before the end half term!

Hope everyone is feeling well. Xx

Darksideofthemoon88 · 29/05/2014 18:53

Best of luck, Living - glad things are finally moving for you!

Darksideofthemoon88 · 29/05/2014 18:54

Does anyone know if you always get some kind of warning that labour is imminent? Just I've had the sharp pains down below that are supposedly my cervix opening up, the period pains, the lower back and abdominal cramping, etc for several weeks now and I'm no further forward Sad. Could I still go into labour at any time or does something else have to happen first??

TheOriginalWinkly · 29/05/2014 19:43

iwillorder I've booked a cut and colour for next Friday for the exact same reasons! I have a wedding at the end of July so will need my roots done then too, going to be interesting with a newborn but pretty much non-negotiable.

darkside my mum and my sister both had their waters break with no advance warning whatsoever with their first, so it can just start.

TheOriginalWinkly · 29/05/2014 19:46

drama what an awful day. I feel your pain, I had awful diarrhoea at the start of the week but only myself to clear up after, I don't envy you. Hope you all feel better soon.

36 weeks exactly. One more week and technically Operation Eviction can begin (though it can wait until my hair's done.) Its getting hard to walk, i'm joining the John Wayne brigade :)

SicknSpan · 29/05/2014 19:47

darkside no previous warnings for me with ds1 or ds2. This time I've had all the symptoms you describe and still nothing! Due tomorrow. Gah.

dramajustfollowsme · 29/05/2014 20:04

I'm another with a hair appointment booked but I'm getting my eyebrows waxed at the same time! Grin
I've had a pedicure so I'm sure my feet are ok - no idea myself, haven't seen them in weeks !
I look really awful in pictures with newborn dd - to the point that I'm hardly in photos as I hated my hair etc, vain I know.
This time I will be happier with the colour at least.
Dh found my hot water bottle, oh the relief of having it on my back! Bliss.
Much more effective than the paracetamol.
No more diarrhoea, thank god.

My waters just burst without warning last time too, at 34wks. It was a complete shock as I had been fine. Initially I thought I had just wet myself without knowing but it just kept coming!

TheOriginalWinkly · 29/05/2014 20:06

I was thinking of getting my eyelashes tinted Blush

Iwillorderthefood · 29/05/2014 20:54

Yes the roots are a definite no no. I am not sure if my hair is unusual but it seems to grow really quickly. The white shows through after about 4 weeks. Is this normal?

seasaltbaby · 29/05/2014 22:19

Drama-well done on surviving through today-that sounds really tough! Hope tomorrow is much betterSmile

Living-hope that induction is going well, looking forward to hearing the good news!

Had 38 week midwife appointment today, apparently baby is 3/5th engaged but not sure this really means something, other than heading in right direction which is good. Next appointment on due date where they can do stretch n sweep (oh the joys!) which according to midwife is v effective for getting things going 2nd time plus. I'm not sure it is possible to say for sure what the early warning signs are for labour-so different for everyone but I reckon you will know when things get going.

Also got cut n colour, waxing & pedicure booked in for next week! I can't envisage having time for any of these things in the next few months so making most of it, if baby hasn't arrived by then.

Right, time to attempt another nights 'sleep'

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 29/05/2014 23:35

Living, hope all is going well - good luck!

Darksideofthemoon88 · 30/05/2014 10:13

No more babies yet? Sad Doubt I'm the only one who's fed up of waiting! I've even taken to running on the treadmill (albeit only for 5mins and probably looking very silly) at the gym again as I figured that the more pressure she puts on my cervix, the more likely things are to start.... Hasn't worked yet though. And DP is killing me with accupressure. It obviously does something as it starts off pains in my groin/thighs, but so far it hasn't pushed me into labour. Maybe I should go off hiking somewhere very remote on my own and hope that Sod's Law intervenes...

PurplePunkPrincess · 30/05/2014 10:20

I'm also fed up, but only 38+2 so may have a while still :(
I've bought a couple of fresh pineapples (69p each in morrisons!)
Planning to have lots of sex and go for a walk. Maybe even a bumpy car ride.

A friend said that hand expressing milk is a REALLY good way to bring labour on. I'm reluctant to try though!

It's one of the few times in life I'm wishing for pain!

Darksideofthemoon88 · 30/05/2014 11:14

I've been hand-expressing like mad for the last week+ and it's done NOWT for me so far Sad.

PurplePunkPrincess · 30/05/2014 11:41

I think I will leave that then! Confused

Ilikecakes · 30/05/2014 14:00

40 weeks today and hubby has taken day off, my parents have taken DS1 and 2 out for afternoon so we're strolling furiously in the sunshine around town! Last few days I've had a sweep, curries, awkward and uncoordinated sex but nothing seems to be working so far. Just resigned now that baby's not budging til he or she's ready....just hoping they're ready soon!

livingzuid · 30/05/2014 14:01

Mini zuid was born at 7.30am this morning :) we a cone and stitches delivery but combined with the most marvellous epidural everything was OK. There was meconium in my waters so I was induced, but everything seems OK. She's currently with the nurses whilst I grab some sleep and dh has gone home for the same thing!

Good luck ladies :) it's been a roller coaster of a nine months and God labour was exhausting but it's worth it!

PurplePunkPrincess · 30/05/2014 14:23

qazxc · 30/05/2014 16:03

Congratulations!
This week MW had a feel and reckoned head was well engaged. Subsequent scan proved that it wasn't the head qazlet seems to want to come out arseways (ie is breech). C section booked for 18th of June. It still seems so far away! I'm so huge and uncomfortable! I want my baby NOW! [stamps foot and whinges emoticon]
