I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

Not at all darkside - She's been measuring small for a while and have been having growth scans - just below the 5th centile. Can't quite believe we'll have a (rather teeny) baby next week.

I sympathise with the back pain. I did rather selfishly think that was a huge benefit to being induced - it'll get rid of this hideous rib and back pain...

seasaltbaby · 28/05/2014 19:23

Drama-sounds as if tomorrow could be the day for you! Good luck to all u ladiesSmile
Re expressing/nipple stimulation, I really couldn't bring myself to do this but desperate times could call for desperate measures if I go much past due date, still little while yet!
Lots of crampy type pains & those horrible sharp shooting pains right down below but don't think it's anything yet-seeing midwife tomorrow for 38 week appointment too...
Also love the feeling when swimming, you might inspire me to go again tomorrow!

TheOriginalWinkly · 28/05/2014 20:13

All happening here! Good luck! :) (Not jealous at all, nope...)

I'm finally feeling much better, amazed myself by doing some cleaning and managing to make, and more importantly eat, a proper dinner. Saw the midwife this evening, baby has dropped a lot but isn't engaged at all, but I'm only 35+6 and she has at least finally shifted from her back to back position - well done baby.

nugget05 · 28/05/2014 21:58

Baby nugget was finally born at 1:53 Tuesday morning exactly 42 week's, after starting induction Sunday night it wasn't an easy journey for either of us they took him straight to the table loads of drs rushed in to revive him then they finally gave him to me and I had to be taken to theatre to have the placenta manually removed after a Dr broke the cord. But we are both healthy and home now and he's worth all the pain and drama
Hopefully everyone else's babies will come soon and be an easier ride Grin Grin Grin Cake

PurplePunkPrincess · 28/05/2014 22:09

Congratulations!!! Xxx sorry to hear it didn't go as smoothly as it could have. My 2nd was revived, it's scary, I'm glad all is ok now! Enjoy your beautiful bundle! Xx

TheOriginalWinkly · 28/05/2014 22:11

Scary stuff nugget, delighted that everything is ok now, congratulations Flowers

Iwillorderthefood · 28/05/2014 22:16

Congratulations nugget

livingzuid · 29/05/2014 03:43

Congratulations nugget!

Waters broke at 2.30 am in hospital waiting for contractions to get stronger. Which I think they are. Baby so far seems very happy.

Another thing about pregnancy they don't tell you - wow there is a lot of fluid! And it just keeps going. Currently in incontinence knickers kindly provided by the hospital!

Will keep you ladies up to date :)

dramajustfollowsme · 29/05/2014 04:47

Congratulations nugget!

Scary stuff but I'm glad you are both ok now. Enjoy those newborn snuggles.

Nothing happening here but dd has a tummy bug. I'm scared that I'm getting it too and that has been the cause of the contractions. Only time will tell, I suppose.
Hope it is just a 24hr thing. Not sure how I'm going to cope with an ill toddler and early labour. Dh has to go to work incase labour does really kick off and he is then off. I think I may need reinforcements today.

evertonmint · 29/05/2014 05:47

Congratulations nugget! Good luck living!

I'm suffering and up early - cough from a cold 2 weeks ago not going away. V hard to clear throat, breathing just not quite right, and diaphragm/tummy shaking violently with every cough. And as for my non-existent pelvic floor... I had to buy Tena Lady for the first time ever yesterday GrinBlush

Up for the day now I think and going to try to get an emergency drs appt to rule out a chest infection. I feel alright in myself otherwise, but this cough is getting worse rather than better and I really don't want labour to be affected by coughing fits and shallow breathing. Sigh.

evertonmint · 29/05/2014 05:48

Drama - hope your DD gets well very soon and manages to avoid infecting you. Try lots of hand washing today in hope of preventing transmission!!

dramajustfollowsme · 29/05/2014 06:02

Everton, your pelvic floor will be under pressure from you coughing too. Good idea to get yourself checked out.
I've taken paracetamol for my period like pain. The thought that this could potentially go on for weeks is really not pleasant. Confused
Dd now can't sleep so we are up for the day. I think I could cry. I have a mountain of washing too.

dramajustfollowsme · 29/05/2014 08:02

Going to phone the MAU as my pain is not going with paracetamol and I am still quite early to have a baby.
I just want to know if I should be worried or not. Really feel awful.

seasaltbaby · 29/05/2014 08:12

Congratulations nugget! Sorry it was traumatic for you but most important is that baby is here & well-enjoy those snuggles.

And good luck living-hope it's going well!

Drama-I would so try to get in reinforcements today, heavily preggers + toddler is so so hard. I've roped in extra grandparent help for today & tomorrow. Which was great except for when they arrived last night they couldn't help but comment on how big I am & if I'm sure there's only one in there-thanksHmm

evertonmint · 29/05/2014 08:33

Oh definitely rope in whoever you can, drama. I am sure people would be only too pleased to help if you ask. I'm terrible at asking but invariably get the help when I do. Even if it's just a friend for an hour or so then you can focus on yourself for a short while and see if you can work out what is happening. And do call the MAU for advice. Hope your pains die down soon - suspect today is not really the day you want to be giving birth.

My pelvic floor has been surprisingly good for a 3rd timer until this cough came along and now it's shot to pieces! There is such joy (and indignity) to be had in late pregnancy. Got a drs appt so we'll see what she says.

dramajustfollowsme · 29/05/2014 09:15

No one available to help. I thought that pils would at least help in this situation but nope. Confused
I was told that I should have expected this to happen when having 2 dcs with little space between them...there is 3 years between them.
I really miss my mum on days like today. Sad
I phoned the MAU. I just wanted to check things were ok. I've been told basically to suck it up as this could go on for weeks. Blush I want the baby to be fully cooked but this pain is awful. 3 weeks! I will have lost my mind if I get no sleep because of contractions and pain for 3 bloody weeks.

Darksideofthemoon88 · 29/05/2014 09:16

Congratulations Nugget! Sorry it was so traumatic, but glad you and baby are in one peace Flowers

Good luck Living!

RoseberryTopping · 29/05/2014 09:37

Congratulations Nugget! Sounds scary but I'm glad you're both ok now :) Flowers

Oh drama I could just hug you after your last post. You've always got us to moan to whenever you need to. Don't know about you but whenever I'm feeling low on energy I take DS to one of them big soft play places, that way he can run off and not bother me for an hour or so while I slump myself in a comfy chair, then when we get home he's knackered so I get more time to sit and watch a film quietly with him. Dunno if that's just DS though, he's a ball full of energy so any time sat still with him is sacred!
I would still say to keep an eye on your pains though and take it easy if you can.

Hope your cough goes away soon as well everton, coughing fits are not useful at this stage of pregnancy! How comfy are them big tena pants though. So reassuring to know you can sneeze and cough as much as you like and not have to worry Grin

Ilikecakes · 29/05/2014 10:07

Congratulations nugget and good luck living - all so exciting!

drama, sorry to hear you're feeling so crap. Can you just ignore the housework (know that can be difficult and it's hard to relax when there's stuff to be done), and just curl up with DD on the sofa with a Disney DVD or something? You might be able to get a snooze in then too?

So at this end, after a few days of 'starty-stoppy' (how I HATE that phrase now!) contractions, lots of pressure and discomfort, full on show etc, it's all well and truly stopped! Feel great again, exactly as I did right up to the labours with my boys before - aside from the mahoosive bump, I don't even feel preggers! So weird, as I've been to bed the last few nights fully expecting to wake up with contractions during the night ahead, but nothing. Baby must be comfy in there. Due date tomorrow and will be with the midwife in the morning, but don't know if they can do anything, as they already gave me a sweep on Monday so I guess I'm just having to wait it out now, which isn't a problem now actually as I'm feeling better. Gonna take boys to soft play this afternoon and let them knacker themselves out while I chill with a coffee!

Poor everton with the Tena pants - pregnancy is the sexiest time of our lives eh? Grin

dramajustfollowsme · 29/05/2014 11:20

Only housework I'm doing is putting a wash on, to get rid of sick covered bedding.
I've just had explosive diarrhoea. Now I'm not sure if it is a sign if labour or me getting dd 's bug. Confused
It is quite literally crap!
Dd and I are in my bed. She is still ridiculously hot. I'm just giving her sips of water and calpol and ibuprofen. She attempted some dry toast earlier but couldn't eat it.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 29/05/2014 15:39

Drama, that sounds awful. Sad Your ILs sound like right gems. Hmm

Ilike, how frustrating for it all to stop! Glad that you feel well and energetic, though.

Iwill, swimming is too hard for me now! My pelvis aches afterwards, so I've had to give up. Well done you for managing with 2 DDs.

I am so tired this afternoon. I'm at work and I went for a pee just now and then stood up and leaned against the wall with my eyes shut and honestly, I nearly fell asleep like that. I don't remember this happening in my other pregnancies...although I got signed off at about 34 weeks last time because I just couldn't face it any more, so perhaps it did and I've just forgotten. Currently 32+1 and aiming to work until 36 weeks, boo!

Have had terrible indigestion all day - had the runs last night and then again this morning (I blame the extra-large pepperoni pizza DH and I scoffed last night), followed by really sore tummy all day plus acid reflux. Ouch! I'm self-medicating with chocolate and tea.

evertonmint · 29/05/2014 17:07

Drama - hope DD is perking up and that you've survived the day and not got worse yourself. Is DH on his way home soon to look after you both?

Well, it's not a chest infection just a bog standard cough, which In some ways is good as I don't particularly want antibiotics at this stage, but means there's no quick fix either so I just have to hope it goes before labour starts. Tena Lady is doing its trick though so I'm feeling less soggy down there Grin

Very uncomfortable Braxton Hicks this afternoon, so I've stopped doing laundry, not started the ironing and am doing desk-based admin, from the comfort of my sofa!

livingzuid · 29/05/2014 17:37

Oh drama that's rubbish. Hope you get some respite soon.

Well there is meconium in my waters so I've been hooked up all afternoon to a monitor. The baby has a good heartbeat and seems quite happy. The upside is that, rather than having to wait till tomorrow I will be induced around 9pm yay! They have started dilation and with no contractions I was already 3cm Grin

Very bored lying round in hhospital but so glad to finally have some action. Feels like worst period pains ever!

Iwillorderthefood · 29/05/2014 17:50

"Drama" hope you've coped with today, and hope you have a better day tomorrow.

tooextra I was so tired yesterday evening that managed not to wake up two or three times to use the bathroom, so maybe this is the way forward for me! Hope you get to have a good rest this evening.

ever are you sure these are Braxton Hicks?

living I hope things progress calmly for you and that you get to meet your baby soon.

I have had quite a good day, though it did not start out well as I managed to miss a couple of steps on the stairs this morning, made an horrendous falling noise which stressed out DH no end. Apart from a sore bottom all is fine. The girls went to a theatre workshop, I was apprehensive as I have never sent them to anything like this, and they seem to have really enjoyed it. Meanwhile, I had my roots done, and so labour can come anytime so long as my roots have not grown through before it happens. The aim is to not have grey hair poking through on the photos (vain I know, but I just don't to look ancient in DD3s baby photos)
