Huge congratulations Caipirinha!!!

I had a rotten birth with my DS but you will soon heal and forget all about it! Great news.

Hey Time! Yep - big bump already. People were giving up their seats for me on the tube today. Am deliberately wearing bump enhancing clothes though! I was huge with my DS (put on 3 stone) and am going to be a rhino again this time. You will probably find that your bump will pop out any day now within the space of a week. I didn't really show until I was 15 weeks last time, other than growing an enormous pair of boobs!!

nobeer · 26/04/2014 20:43

Congratulations Caipirinha Thanks Thanks Thanks Enjoy being with your lovely boy, and hope you're being well looked after.

chocolocodowninacapulco · 27/04/2014 10:00

Congratulations caipirinha Grin Thanks lovely news!

time2deal · 27/04/2014 15:32

Congrats caipirinha. Lovely news.

I've finally managed to find the heartbeat today with my cheapy Doppler. Yay! Little tyke kept moving around (presumably because I was poking it) but definitely the baby's heartbeat. :)

Congrats Caip - we cycled together in the summer - lovely to have seen you reach the goal!

talulahbelle · 27/04/2014 20:22

Congratulations caip the end of one long journey and the start of another.

Anyone else got any miracle heartburn cures? Gaviscon works but tastes like drinking minty mucus. Gross.

vallinnapod · 27/04/2014 21:07

Frozen yoghurt was mine Talulah...and working out what makes it worse, bread and chocolate this time!

BeetlingAbout · 28/04/2014 11:05

Congrats Caip! Wonderful news Flowers

Talulah with the twins i found that I had to eat my main meal really early, about 6pm, or i would get heartburn in the evening. Gaviscon was the only thing that really worked for me, but the texture / taste of it is pretty grim!

Also, sleeping on your left hand side is better for giving the stomach room.

Thinking of nobeer today - let us know how your scan goes.

Hi all! I've had my scan and my embryo is doing really well! I'm 7 weeks today and my baby is 11mm. I can't believe something so tiny makes me feel so sick haha! I got to hear the heartbeat too so I now feel like it's real.

time2deal · 28/04/2014 12:55

Congrats Nobeer! It's crazy to see isn't. I'm not sure about you, but I've had to many scans I feel like I know my uterus quite well, so it was weird to see something in there after all this time.

Wait til you get to 12 weeks and you suddenly see a fully formed baby in there jumping about.

Ferreroroche123 · 28/04/2014 13:05

Excellent news nobeer,

All sounds just as it should be right now.

Badhairday76 · 28/04/2014 13:53

Am so happy for you Nobeer!! Absolutely brilliant news! Awful as the sickness must be, it's a very reassuring sign. Congrats again!!

Time - I know what you mean - I wept uncontrollably after all the scans I had had showing ectopics or miscarriage. It's amazing when you see something, isn't it!!

I really feel for you ladies having heartburn. I had it just once with my last pregnancy and once - so far! - with this one. Both times I felt as though I was having a heart attack. Awful! The most recent time was after scoffing a huge portion of fish and chips and haven't been able to stomach them since. Probably a good thing, really! Hope everybody is well today and having good Mondays xxx

vallinnapod · 28/04/2014 13:59

Yay Nobeer Grin

eurochick · 28/04/2014 16:43

Wow, it sounds like you went through the mill Caip but congratulations on your gorgeous boy! I hope the recovery from all that is not too bad. x

Hurrah for your embie nobeer. Hearing the heartbeat is amazing, isn't it? Time I know what you mean about the 12 week scan. As pregnancy is 9 months long, it is amazing to me how much happens in the 10 weeks between sperm meeting egg and the 12 week period.

I had a bit of menkulling yesterday as centime didn't move for ages (not ideal when you are several thousand miles from home and need to catch a plane!) but in the end some spicy food and an iced drink seemed to wake him/her up. And then, as with previous flights, there was much movement during turbulence. I'm not sure whether he/she loves or hates flying, but it certainly provokes a reaction.

nobeer · 28/04/2014 18:19

Thanks everyone Thanks It really is amazing to think that something so tiny has a heartbeat. A magical moment I'll never forget! I felt very reassured to a. hear it, b. see it and c. be told that the cramps I'm still getting are normal. I'm sure I'll find something else to menkul over soon but at the moment I'm enjoying feeling extremely happ Grin

euro I bet that was a bit stressful. Good to know spicy food and cold drinks do the trick! I remember a friend recommending another friend to drink coffee or a coke to liven it up if it's been quiet for a long time. Is centime called centime because of its size? But I guess at 22 weeks it must be bigger than a 2€ coin now!

SecretGeek · 28/04/2014 19:54

Congrats on good news nobeer

Hope everyone had lovely weekends.

Major menkulling has now commenced over my next scan on Thursday. I am irrationally terrified about MMC. Had 2 previous scans at 6+1 (private due to freaking out after symptoms went away) and 6+6 (at FC) and both times had HB but also measuring behind - 5+5 at first scan and only 6+1 at second - so just fearing the worst.

Lovely nurse at FC offered to scan me again at 9 weeks due to my extreme anxiety. How anyone goes through assisted fertility without extreme anxiety is beyond me but still very glad she booked me in for another scan.

Thanks all for the constipation tips. I can report that a daily glass of prune juice is doing the trick Grin

Bearsandhoney · 28/04/2014 20:43

Hi everyone, I recognise many of you (but not all) and would like to join. I'm around 7 weeks and have my first scan tomorrow afternoon.

No beer: congrats again. You should enjoy this moment, its been hard fought for. I also have a lot of cramps (and my belly is black and blue after all the clexane I've taken) and I am praying that this doesn't mean bad news tomorrow.

Caips: we've not met but congrats on your beautiful baby boy. It's always lovely to hear of the success stories!

Beetle: well done for starting this thread, where we can all menkulling together, without potentially upsetting other egg buddies. How are you?

Hi to everyone else, I've a little catching up to do it seems!

vallinnapod · 28/04/2014 20:45

First HCG tomorrow....not sure why I am nervous when it will tell me bugger all!!

vallinnapod · 28/04/2014 20:45

Yay Bears, you're here!

Bearsandhoney · 28/04/2014 21:11

Hi val ! Will you get your results tomorrow? Got any symtoms?

nobeer · 28/04/2014 21:44

Good luck tomorrow bear!

BeetlingAbout · 29/04/2014 08:49

Such wonderful news nobeer. It is amazing to think that such a little speck can have a heartbeat that goes like the clappers!

Good luck with your scan today, Bears. Will be thinking of you this afternoon.

Euro, that sounds very scary but thankfully all was well. It can feel very lonely when things get worrying so far from home, so I am very glad that a good curry was able to sort things out!

Well, i finally got my midwife booking in appointment. I badgered my GP to chase it up yesterday and they just rang me to say that the midwife will do my booking in on the 7th of May. I will be 12 weeks then. My scan is then not until the 15th. The day after my last provisional surgery date (the earlier one is the 8th May).

So frustrating.

It's going to screw us over financially, but i think i'm going to do the harmony test package with nuchal instead. The results will get back the day before the op if we postpone until the 14th.

YAAAAAAY!

I finally got through to my hospital after 30+ calls over the last week. I was so shocked to hear a voice i thought i had the wrong number!

Managed to change my appointments changed so booking in and nuchal scan will be at 12 weeks.

YAAAAAAAY!

Good result beetle!! Kingston is a possible hospital for me but I have decided to go to St Peters in chertsey. I have heard good things about Kingston but also that they are just very very busy! I have a few friends who had their babies there and have nothing but praise.

nobeer fantastic news :-D and bear good luck for today!
caip congratulations!!!

I'm glad I haven't really had any sickness but am so fed up of the tiredness, I'm having to come in a few hours late to work at least once a week just to get more sleep. Luckily I work somewhere super relaxed and can easily hide it...
