Morning all - welcome to carwillin

I'm feeling rough at the mo - getting a cold and have got a horrible cough! Didn't take me long to realise that if i coughed without bending it really bloody hurt feeling sorry for myself as whenever i usually get a cold they last for weeks and weeks and weeks - now not being able to take much this one will probably still be here when buba is born!

Will try and go through old thread today and get the other's date so we can have a proper list.

SpringChicken · 12/04/2004 12:55

Right - Done...........I think....

Aplogies in advance if i have missed anyone out but i cannot be blamed for my actions with this bloody cold

Ooohhhh Wonder if i've got it right?!?!?

Helsbels · 12/04/2004 13:00

sorry to hear you're off it SC, coughing is a deveil isn't it? It really hurts to sneeze as well... look after yourself and rest as much as possible. I find that big mugs of hot chocolate help, especially if it has squirty cream on top

littlerach · 12/04/2004 13:21

Hi, Carwillon, this is my second, have DD aged 3, who is very excited!! Guess you have had your scan etc, do you know the sex?

SpringChicken · 12/04/2004 14:06

Thanks Helsbels - trying to pile myself with boiling water and freshly sqeezed lemon at the mo!

At work so not much resting going on Never mind, got 4 days to recouperate soon.

Starting to wonder whether i will actually make it working until 25th June though ?!?!?

Helsbels · 12/04/2004 14:46

yeah - of course you will - I think it is better to have the time afterwards rather than before - you may need extra rest but think you'd probably end up sitting at home thinking and worrying - keep busy for as long as possible!! This time for me - I am working up until 23rd June but may have a couple of weeks hols before - I am truly knackered with work, a two year old and a house to run!! We go on holiday on 28th April yippee!! Can't wait!!

SpringChicken · 12/04/2004 15:23

That'll be lovely for you helsbels - where are you off too?

Can imagine how you are feeling - i have days where i am so tired at work and then have to go home and cook and clean and do washing etc - although don't have a toddler to deal with too. I think people with other children already deserve a meddle - s'pecially if their DP is as useless as mine usually is

SpringChicken · 12/04/2004 15:29

Or maybe they even deserve a Medal ......

Quackers · 12/04/2004 18:57

HIya, thanks for doing that Jems!!
You get used to having to juggle all the things in your life. It took me a while when DD was born, you really do become an expert multi tasker!!! My friends at work cannot believe how I do the lot and they have no kids etcc and have cleaners!!
Hope the cold gets better BTW!

Helsbels · 12/04/2004 19:00

I made the mistake of saying to my mum and dad (after my dad had told me how tired I looked! Thanks Dad) that I may get a cleaner from now until July for 2 hours a week - my mum was like ' I'll do it' straight away - - I don't want her to have to do it so now I can't get a cleaner or I'll upset her...ho hum....

We're off to Spain Jems - can't wait. Near Alicante it will be good - we went lst September - my aunt has a house there that we use

NorfolkTurkey · 14/04/2004 17:20

Ohhh Jems - how nice to be remembered! Yes you have got the delivery date right! Glad to see that everyone is ok. Have been in hospital for a while, just being observed until 28 weeks, just in case....... They've let me out of my padded cell today to come home for a few hours. All progressing well and have reached the point where my stomach turns the corner before me!

hermykne · 14/04/2004 23:40

oh my god i feel terrible, spring chicken you remembered me on the list. i have been an absentee for quite awhile so i didnt expect to be there. thanks

my 18mth old has been very busy so i am too.
plus by 8pm i am wrecked so in bed nearly always by 9, oh what happened????!!!!

i am going to print this off and refresh myself on everybody.

my d/d is either 20/7 by the scan or 27/7 by my dates. much bigger this time round .

needed a boost so i went to have hair done and instead of normal highlights, i said lets go auburn / mad red !!
just as well i am pregnant allowed to do nut things lie that!

littlerach · 18/04/2004 12:46

Bumping this thread up a bit, how are you all?
Did you eat lots of eggs? And rest a lot?

Anyone there?!!

SpringChicken · 18/04/2004 12:58

Morning Littlerach.

Had a nice weekend - my sore throat turned into a full blown streaming cold on Friday but feel much better today
DP didn't buy me an easter egg so my niece and 2 nephews donated me one each - i had the buttons one for breakfast this morning

How has everyone else been?

M2T · 18/04/2004 13:03

Hello All, I'm now 23+4 and hovering over this thread.... I'm hoping this little one is a July baby!

Glad to hear your cold has cleared up Jems.

madgirl · 18/04/2004 13:28

it's my last day at work!! i have 12 weeks until dday. oh my god there is going to be another baby in the house! tomorrow i'm going to clean up the old push chair and call mamas and papas to send it for a service. feels WEIRD! i have eaten enough galaxy to sink a ship. and that's before i start tucking in to ds's leftovers M2T when are you due?
more and more braxton hicks now. hope you're all ok

dinosaur · 18/04/2004 14:34

Just popping in to say hi to Madgirl before you go off on maternity leave - that's come around so fast - it seems like no time at all since I responded to your early post about not believing you were pg even though you had got a positive result!

How is everyone? I had a creme egg on Sunday evening and the baby went bonkers - s/he was leaping about like a salmon!

madgirl · 18/04/2004 14:41

thanks dinosaur, just posted on city thread too. praps its a legitimate excuse to eat chocolate then, for people worried about little movement....hmmm i like it. i read s/where that the brain develops hugely in 3rd trimester, does anyone know what are the good foods to eat? (i winge and moan about what we are NOT allowed to eat i may as well go hell for leather on what we SHOULD eat. As long as the list includes scotch eggs, doughnuts, and the like i'll be fine.

M2T · 18/04/2004 14:45

Hi Madgirl - I'm due 6th August, but ds was a week early so I'm hoping he/she makes an appearance around the end of July.
I had a chocolate muffin and a slice of Cheesecake for Sunday lunch.

Quackers · 18/04/2004 19:11

Glad it;s not just me then pigging out on Chocolate! I didn;t have this with DD! I had a whole creme egg easter egg on Sunday - yes the eggs and the big one too!!!! What a porker!!! Baby seems to love it, maybe it;s true what they say about giving unborn babies choccy!! They love it!!! Getting loads of BH and have to sit down sometimes if they come in multiples, of course they stop again after a while, so no panick! Weather was fab over here all weekend and I could wear summer stuff, felt great!! I do love being pg in the summer. Had DD around the same time and it was nice but hot! Good excuse for sitting in the garden! Well I;ve been going swimmin twice a week now I've finished work and really enjoying it, hoping to go till a week before birth as it;s so nice!!!

SpringChicken · 18/04/2004 19:30

Gosh, you make me feel tired Quacks Don't know how you manage everything you do.

It was bf's birthday at the weekend and a big group of us were going out but i had to cancel in the end - the thought of actually getting ready to out for the night was horrible...........MIL and bf have now managed to drag me into a "ladies night" on 1st May. Dp not very happy, says i shouldn't go to things like that "in my condition"
I'm sure i'll manage somehow

fairydust · 18/04/2004 20:40

gosh M2t it does seem to mins since you found out and already your this far.

Quackers · 19/04/2004 14:54

I'm making the most of having a couple of days a week to myself Jems, it;s great! Havn't had this in nearly 4 years!!! Sad but I love the thought of waking up and being able to clean the house in one go instead of in bits around DD. Won;t last forever I know!!

OP posts:
littlerach · 19/04/2004 21:05

That's one thing I'm looking forward to on mat leave - DD going to nursery!! We are reducing her hrs slightly, but I will still get 2 afternoons to myself - probably to clean!!

sweetkitty · 20/04/2004 23:11

I'm hovering on this thread too due 4th August but have asked baby to come a bit earlier as I will be bored and it will be too hot to be 9 months preg in August.
