Hello all!! Hope you find me!!!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Lupe · 20/07/2004 10:39

all my sympathy carwillin - I'm not even due till Saturday and I feel impatient already! Have you tried reverse pyschology, you know like when you really want your period to arrive and it doesn't...

If you can remember what that feels like!

HelloMama · 20/07/2004 11:07

I have 1 week to go today but I just cant wait any longer! Lupe I am definitely getting stronger BH now but no 'contractions' like before. Baby has been quite quiet last few days although it is still doing its 10 movements per day so i'm not worried. We too did a lot of tidying and sorting last week! I have 2 essays to finish this week for a course, so thats keeping me occupied but otherwise baby is welcome to arrive whenever! I have tried sitting over my birthing ball, hip rotation, pelvic floor exercises... the list goes on, none of the other techniques have worked!

sponge · 20/07/2004 11:37

I've still got 2 weeks to go but I've certainly had enough already.
It's quite dispiriting to see how many of the July girls are going overdue - the idea that I could still be pregnant in 4 weeks time just doesn't bear thinking about.
Good luck to you all .

Quackers · 20/07/2004 11:55

Hiya all, I'm due a week today too!!!!
Last night I had tightenings with some period type pains and I sat up thinking, could this be it?? Then they went. Have been niggling a bit today, but I feel nowhere near.
I have my last scan this afternoon and see consultant tommorow, I'm going to beg that I don;t go more than a week overdue, but hopefully that will be fine as DD was small and distressed (anything but now though I might add!)

I definitely had another 'contraction' pain last night and BH all morning but again nothing regular. It really hurt though so now I'm quite scared! I feel a bit out of sorts today. Baby was very active through the night and I think I am just tired. I keep finding it difficult to get to sleep because i get excited that i could wake up and that'd be it - baby on way! Anyone else feel like this or am i going crazy?? I wish something definite would happen....

Quackers · 21/07/2004 11:54

This thread is really quiet!!! Are you all in labour????
Had my appointment with consultant today. I'm 3/5 engaged pretty much, so explains why I can hardly walk! Good news though for a second baby I believe! I had to convince him that leaving me beyong 41 weeks was really not good going off past history and he has agreed to induce me at 41+1 weeks. Feels like forever, but he normally leaves you till 42 weeks, so at least it's a little earlier. Till then lots of bouncing! DH has 'kindly' offered to use him to bounce on IYKWIM! I graciously refused! It didn;t work last time and more trouble than it;s worth!

Hi everyone. I can't believe that no one else has had their little bundles of joy yet! You must be all going crazy, as I was at the end of my tether at 6 days over. I'm just off to post my labour story on the announcement thread, so tune in for details. I'll keep checking in, in between dancing attendance on little marmalade; I can't stop staring at her, she is so perfect. There is no feeling like it in the world. Good luck all of you.

sweetkitty · 21/07/2004 20:16

Can't believe I had a July baby! Still in shock. See August for the gory details!

serenequeen · 22/07/2004 08:32

congratulations to you both!

i'm 39 wks today and saw the mw yesterday who said we're "ready" and it could be any time now... but then could also go to due date.

plan today is to get everything ready for the homebirth just in case.

HelloMama · 22/07/2004 14:10

Also am 39+3 and all set to go. Baby 3/5 engaged midwife said today. Am wearing a loose t-shirt and have very leaky boobs... big wet patches already and the baby isn't even here yet! Could this be a sign things are imminent? I hope so! Wishing you all lots of luck as I know how frustrating this last few weeks are!

hermykne · 22/07/2004 20:59

hello girls
i cant believe for a month with so many pregnant all those babies are really hanging in there!
i have 4 daysto go to due date and if nothing happens by then its in for a c/s xt fri, as baby is big 9lb presently with a head diameter of 10.1 wk be4 last! so i casually said how does the .1cm get out? my 1st also was a c/s with dd at 9lb 3.
feeling very strong tightenings in my uterus if thats the word! god its agony, actually took some pain killers today for it - bad idea??

good luck to all
and congratualtions to the those who got thru it!

Lupe · 23/07/2004 09:07

they are all hanging in there, aren't they!

Just needs one more to come out to open the floodgates, I reckon...

My due date's tomorrow, got the MW coming round today for a visit - maybe she's going to bring round a bottle of gin and a curry!

HelloMama · 23/07/2004 16:33

I have booked myself in to have a reflexology session next wednesday to help bring on labour (if baby hasn't already arrived by then)! 'Gentle encouragement' is how the reflexologist lady described it. I wonder if anyone else has experience of this? The reflexologist said she saw a lady last week who went into labour 24 hours after her treatment, so it must work for some. I just don't fancy going down the whole induction route and really don't want to be any more overdue than I have to be.

rosies · 23/07/2004 16:43

as a reflexologist, specialising in maternity care, i have had good success with special techniques to vitalise the energy and get baby moving.

as a matter of personal interest, did you have regular reflexology during pregnancy?

good luck and best wishes

rosie

HelloMama · 23/07/2004 17:05

I've never had reflexology before so this will be a new experience, but I am very open-minded and have enjoyed having osteopathy during my pregnancy for a bad back and to ensure my pelvis is in the right position for birth. I really hope it works! The reflexology lady says one session tends to be enough if its going to work, would you agree with this? I just read on another website that the reflexology tends to work best if you have already started to dilate, is this true?

serenequeen · 25/07/2004 18:55

hello everyone

it looks like i am in pre-labour stage - am having contractions - but not regular or frequent enough to be established labour. the foetal position is ok (not optimal, but not op either - unless it turns during labour) and the head is fully engaged.

pre-labour can, unfortunately, go on for days.

will let you know when there is some definite news.

tigermoth · 26/07/2004 11:59

serenequeen, just caught this message of yesterday! things are moving, it seems. good luck!!!

good luck serene queen. it's 26th today- just can't believe my ds2 is now 3 weeks! please someone have their baby soon! dinosaur- how you going?? mgx

HelloMama · 26/07/2004 14:03

Good luck Serenequeen! I think I am in the same boat with regular BH and baby (almost) fully engaged. It feels odd. Thought things were happening for real on Saturday night as strong BH were happening every 15 minutes. It all stopped when we went to bed though... then I couldn't sleep because I'd got myself all excited! Oh well. I'm due tomorrow so still have a day left before I can feel really impatient!

Hope all goes well SereneQueen

I am 42 weeks today and have managed to put off the induction until Wednesday. As much as I would love to wait for this baby to come naturally I just can't see it happening, even though baby has been fully engaged for 3 weeks and been having contractions daily for 4 weeks (BH or other). It still feels like a small victory though as the local hospital policy is in after 10 days so I've had a good go at it.

Quackers · 26/07/2004 20:51

Hi! Good luck serenequeen!!!!
Hellomama, my due date tommorow too!!!! Having BH's all day today at very regular intervals but I just know they are not quite the real thing yet, even though a couple were very strong! Had cramps in the night too, but again, amounted to nothing! Seeing Doc tommorow for antenatal, hopefully head is even further down, it certainly feels like it!
Good luck Carwillin, if you don;t get chance to post again!!!

good luck ladies

anyone heard from springchicken? she must have had the baby now?

bzhmum · 26/07/2004 23:27

hello all
my baby boy was born on 18 july by emergency ceasaran - went in sunday morning to be monitored after 2 or 3 nihghts of uneven contractions. During the monitoring, it was found that the heartbeat was slowing down during the contractions, then it sowed right down and I was rushed to the theatre. Cord was around baby's neck and body apparently, and he became distressed (though he had been moving a lot the day before).Registrar said I was very lucky to be in the right place when it happened, could have lost the baby otherwise. Anyway, he came out fine, 6lbs 2 oz, we've named him Iolo Brieg, breastfeeding is getting easier every day (NO-ONE said it was this painful!) and parenthood is SHEER BLISS!
good luck to everyone else, Lupe, I'm awaiting your news too (we were both due on the 23rd, it's your turn now)
