For pregnant berries at any stage. Scary thought but this is the one where some babies will appear!

Morning berries. Wow bunny 15 weeks! You will have a baby in no time!
The sun is shining and it's a beautiful day to have twins isn't it boomGrinGrin?

Thunderpantsarego · 10/04/2014 10:49

Ha merk that made me chuckle. Think sorting on hand should actually be trying to jiggle, placate and then position a wiggly lump though. Perhaps a pug?

15 weeks bunny - whoop! Nice feeling? I loved 16 weeks as it suddenly felt so proper. And then 24 weeks was the next lovely milestone.

Oh yeah boom nice day for it?! lol do you know something we don't?

jessplussomeonenew · 10/04/2014 11:12

All this talk of breastfeeding clothing arrangement practice is reminding me of the octopus and string bag preparation exercises for parenting (worth a Google if you don't know what I'm talking about)! I have been wondering about getting some more maternity tops so it's a helpful thing to be reminded about.

Had 20 week scan today, all looking good (they didn't look at anything that FMC hadn't looked at back at 13 weeks, but probably today they saw it in more detail now it's all bigger.) I am puzzled that they keep saying that the baby is the right size for dates but then slightly tweak the due date (only by a day so far) every time - seems like moving the goalposts to me! Anyway, all looking pretty much bang on average growth and all in proportion which is reassuring. We decided not to find out the sex in the end.

Strange to think that, if I don't end up having extra scans, the next time we see it will be once it's out! Which suddenly seems a lot closer now I am about at the halfway point (everybody still clenching?)

Thunderpantsarego · 10/04/2014 11:20

Oo jess congratulations on good scan news! That's fab. Lovely to see the little one too- as you say that's the last glimpse before it arrives! Off to look up octopus thing...

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/04/2014 11:35

Jess good news on the scan. After I had 2 private plus 2 NHS scans if had 4 scans by 20 weeks and the thought of not having any more for another 20 weeks was weird. I squeezed in a private one at 30 weeks to keep me going!

Bunny 15 weeks. Time flies Shock

boom is awfully quiet.... Grin maybe the Berry baby playgroup is about to get a couple of more members?

Merk what sorts of tops do you mean, the kind that's like a nursing bra with the clip on the strap? I haven't thought that far ahead but am going to try to mat shop in earnest now, so thanks for the reminder to think ahead Cake Yesterday I got in a couple of dresses from Gap; one was hideous and cheap-feeling but the other was nice, although too big in the bust, so have returned them both and might pick up the 2nd again when it might fit better. Hoping my shopaholic SIL will have some pointers once we tell her next week; if so I'll be sure to share.

Bunny 15 weeks OMG! Time flies when your head is in the toilet not. BTW after my post yesterday I immediately had such a violent vom that I burst a bunch of blood vessels under my eyes, and had a nosebleed into the toilet Sad Wishing you better luck than I'm having!!

Jess great news on the 20 week scan! Amazing to see how different the baby looks from scan to scan, isn't it. Halfway to due date, woohoo!

Charming am ordering that book right now!

Thunder 2 weeks, where has the time gone! You and Merk can use all your spare time to write us lagging Berries a new-mother manual Wink

Dream genii is set for delivery today. I can only sleep for 2 hrs at a time, between weeing and feeling like I'm on fire. And as of today, I think the pleurisy is back - fun times!

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/04/2014 11:52

Sid you will need nursing bras or vests (the ones with the cup that unclips for easy access) - I'm mainly wearing the H&M nursing vests (2 pack) as they're cheap (compared to everywhere else), comfy and long. But on top of this you need clothes that also give baby access to your boobs. Seraphine have some good nursing tops that have hidden access (ie a hole in the front hidden behind another panel of material) or a v stretchy v neck would do. Obviously button up shirts work too but these or v necks are not quite as discreet. In essence look for tops that you could expose an entire boob easily without having to pull it up Wink

Apologies, I have turned into one of those people who say baby instead of your baby. I shall go and give myself a good slap!

SidneyBristow · 10/04/2014 13:13

As long as you don't refer to him as "your naughty baby" Wink

Peaks of London keep sending me emails but I suspect their stuff is a bit too fancy for me. That's the trouble, it's either really nice things geared for City workers who are pg then breastfeed between Very Important Client meetings, or cheap tat that feels sleazy while it's on and then falls apart on its first wash.

jessplussomeonenew · 10/04/2014 13:28

Have been pondering possible nursing clothing solutions (when I really should be working, but my mind is running on babies today for some reason Wink ). Anyway I wondered if a bump band could be useful to wear under a non-nursing top. I was thinking it might work best around the belly, givibg you a bit of cover under a top you could lift up. But it might work as a boob tube for a top that could be slipped down - more fiddly as you'd have three layers of cloth to fiddle with one handed. Not sure if either would meet Merk's test though!

Boomgoestheweasel · 10/04/2014 13:44

Sorry folks, no baby arrivals today! Just trying to get the house clean and tidy(ish) ready for when they do make an appearance!

Feeling very chuffed, Mr Boom's been and ordered me an iPad mini so I'll have it to take to hospital with me for music/books/films because I'll have so much free time with twins to look after HA I've wanted one for ages anyway but couldn't justify the expense so feeling very loved Grin

Jess oh my word, 20 weeks already! And Bunny I can't believe you're already 15, it's all happening so fast! Glad your scan went well Jess and yay for another on Team Surprise Grin. We've decided that Mr Boom is going to be the one who tells me what they are and I'm really looking forward to that, I think it'll be a lovely special moment (if he can manage to talk through the waterworks, he's prone to being very emotional!)

Merk hmm thinking about my wardrobe I have NO bf friendly clothes. But luckily I also have no shame and will probably just wap a boob out wherever - I'm most likely going to have to contend with nipple shields as well so sod trying to hide what I'm doing, it would take forever especially with two! Might get a scarf or two for once they're on though if I do manage to get BF going, I'm not sure how realistic it is to expect to be able to tandem feed at home let alone in public.

Sid poor old you, can only hope it's a momentary relapse..

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/04/2014 14:49

Jess I have some vests that sit under a bra and achieve the same thing (belly cover). The issue is that I can't lift a top with one hand and position and latch her with the other. So I have to lift top and tuck/roll so it stays up, then undo bra, (boob now on show for the world) then lift her, position her and latch her
As I said its likely just that I am crap at it and you all will manage fine but try it one handed and see!

OP posts:
jessplussomeonenew · 10/04/2014 16:38

Ah, I see the problem, Merk. With all the ways our bodies change when pregnant you'd think growing a spare arm wouldn't be too much to ask!

MotherOfCleo · 10/04/2014 22:05

Merk this may be no help, but I used to sit on the sofa with my knees raised up and H laid on my legs, facing up towards my knees while I sorted myself out then I'd get H latched on. I had to find a way of putting him down prior to feeding as I had to put a nipple shield on before being able to feed the wiggley little octopus child. Wink Might be worth a try, either that or I used to lay him across my lap, also a cardy is handy as you can hide your nips from others and then slip bubs between top and cardy to feed.

Foodylicious · 10/04/2014 22:55

Yay for 15 weeks bunny & 20 weeks jess, its going so fast!
bunny have you tried eating in bed before you move? I used to eat lying on my side before I even sat up, did not get rid of all the nausea and coming but cut it by half I think.

Have vommed a few times this week though, think its a bit of refluxy heartburn and going too long without eating.

Been to my sisters this evening and she had given us lots of little vests and grows, a steriliser, tens machine and even her breast pump! Very pleased as this will save us lots of pennies and time too. OH really enjoyed looking through the clothes, especially liked the little socks!

Well done on the cleaning boom we have a friend staying for the weekend again, I really must do some tomorrow

I have a couple of nursing tops but am going to have to think about other clothing combos

PuppyMummy · 11/04/2014 06:49

Hello berries. VERY happy Friday! last day of term today. Bring on the sleeping! Grin

merk again apologies if not helpful but are you still feeding at home? would it be useful to practice at home so it doesn't matter if your boob is out! so u can get confident in baby manouver and latch without worrying about exposure?

We did breastfeeding at nct this week. very interesting I thought and quite useful.

bunny & jess time is flying!

33 weeks here! Nursery done, next on list finish hospital bags and do birth plan!

have a good weekend everyone!

BlearyeyedLol · 11/04/2014 09:05
