For pregnant berries at any stage. Scary thought but this is the one where some babies will appear!

I'm in. She is awake and staring at the mobile. Think I will get 5 mins max!
On the plus side have just realised I can fit into my onsie again and it is perfect for lounging around the house with easy boob access for breastfeeding!

Note the hour from when I first ran bath to getting in it. This is how long everything takes now Grin

kitty new born cuddles were great!
he is very, very cute!
Mum and dad are recovering well, they had a right time of it with induction on Mothers day then birth finally at 10pm on Thursday!

Have foolishly just spent the last 2 hours sawing, sticking and nailing skirting board to the walls. It looks a right mess, really shouldn't have done it myself but am stubborn and refuse to be defeated by anythingand not when I was already tired. But hey ho, a bit lot of wood filler and it will look alrightish once its painted and all the furniture is hiding it Grin

Hope you are enjoying your bath merk and don;t you dare go anywhere! we need you here and want to hear all about you and mini-merk

BlindKitty · 13/04/2014 19:30

merk hope e let you have a decent bath!

boom looking forward to the boom baby birth story!

jess we've had a fair amount of hand-me-downs too. Wish I'd not spent so much on new stuff now!

Guys, question.. I have this friend who has been typically unreliable over the years. When she's single, we're so close, and I've confided in her a lot over ttc'ing. So now she's got a fb the texts, calls have become few and far between again. Yet I always make excuses for her even though everyone knows how shit she is. So when she texted the other day to say she wasn't coming to the baby shower I was so mad I didn't text back. Am I being petty or is it just best that I wean her out of my life now?

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/04/2014 19:39

Blind my advice is always to wean out friends who don't give you as much as you give them

Another hour on and I've just got back in the bath! Managed 5 mins earlier before I had to leap out. Fed her and then did 15 mins of dancing walking up and down the hall as she was uncomfortable and grizzly. Then DH came home, brought me a cold beer and took her downstairs so I am going to shave my legs to celebrate Grin

merk as sad as it makes me, I'm inclined to agree. We've been friends for almost 10years now and nothing has changed in that time!
Enjoy some 'me' time even if it is only for a short time!

Foodylicious · 13/04/2014 20:06

yay for shaving your legs merk! I could really do with a good 'de-fluffing' might give it a go tomorrow, see what interesting positions I have to get in to!

blind I am with merk on this one, just let the relationship slide.

I have let a few inbalanced 'friendships' go over the last few years and am honestly better fot it. I know you need to make an effort to keep things going, especially as we get older, have busyer lives and people move around. But it shouldn't feel like hard work, or that you are the one making all the effort, or are only really wanted when the other person has nothing better to do.

BlindKitty · 13/04/2014 21:31

Yeh, it's not like we haven't spoke about this before. The shower meant to so much to me, like a celebration of finally having a baby.

On another note, does anyone know how much to use a birthing ball each day? Going to start using it each night in front of the telly to try and get baby in position

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/04/2014 21:54

Kitty you can't do too much. Try to replace all your sofa sitting with the ball, even if you're not bouncing your seated position will be better on the ball

OP posts:
BlindKitty · 14/04/2014 06:58

Oh really? I got bored after about 15 mins!

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/04/2014 07:03

Yep the ball used to drive me mad. Just try to sit on it rather than bounce, it does just as much good

OP posts:
PuppyMummy · 14/04/2014 07:10

I like my ball, I find it very comfy unless im really tired (then I prefer to be laid down!)

like merk says I just sit on it while I watch tv. I bounce, just sit, clench!, rotate hips, go side to side and back to front!

you can look online for 'exercises'/movements to do while pregnant

jessplussomeonenew · 14/04/2014 09:04

Tht reminds me that I must get my gym ball pumped up... would help if we could find the pump adapter!

Hope you had a relaxing bath Merk - I found I spent a bit longer in mine as I realised my relaxed bathing days are numbered....

Foodylicious · 14/04/2014 15:10

I need to get my ball pump back from my sister, thing is I leant it too her about 15 months ago, her little one is now 13 months so I doubt she has any idea where it is Hmm

31 week appt for me this aft then whooping cough jab. Both very short appts so home on the sofa now trying not to stress about work. Apparently I have upset someone (one of the nurses) with the way I spoke to them when they called this morning. To be fair I was in the middle of something else when she called, but mostly I think its because I she did not get what she wanted. Grrr and Sad because I really am quite nice and don't like to think someone is upset because of me.

Foodylicious · 14/04/2014 15:46

Finally met the woman who is actually my named midwife though!
Will see someone else next time apparently then her for weeks 36, 38, 40 etc.

Was eveyone (who has had it) ok with whooping cough jab? the nurse pretty much told me to expect a localised reaction, said it would be because I have the antibodies already, anyone else been told the same?
Not usre if she was referring to the antibodies for tetnus and dip or for whooping cough as I had whooping cough 2 yrs ago.

Foodylicious · 14/04/2014 16:23

hellooooo

PuppyMummy · 14/04/2014 19:57

foody I had a really sore bruised upper arm for about 3 days after my whooping cough jab.

Luckily nurse warned me so I had it in my right arm, not my left cos thats what I sleep on! was glad I had!

no other issues tho!

Foodylicious · 14/04/2014 20:05

Thanks puppy I am sleeping on either side, but turning over many, many times a night so not expecting to get much sleep between my hips, back and arm Sad

MW has re sent my physio referal, first one was sent 9 weeks ago and have not heard a thing. I am givning it a week before phaning the practice manager and asking who a complain to. I know its not the surgeries fault, but need to start somewhere - hopefully they can give me the details of which dept to complain to.

PoppySeedBun · 15/04/2014 13:38

Really quiet today - is everyone locked out because of the password reset??
Checkup today, and finally got around to whooping cough jab - bit late (38+5) but better late than never, I think. Hoping it isn't going to be sore for as long as yours puppy

foody thanks for updating the list - looks good to me! Though eek at being near the top! Can't quite believe that this time last year I was having an MMC. Amazing what a year can bring.

re: gym ball, I'm finding it really helpful - much more comfortable now than the sofa. It does make a difference to have it pumped up properly though. I find if it doesn't support my hips above my knees then it makes things worse (I have a 75cm ball, as I'm quite tall at 5ft10)

PuppyMummy · 15/04/2014 14:24

very quiet!

Maybe everyone is out enjoying the sun!

I hav midwife next week, hoping bump isnt goin to measure massive!! (was a teeny bit big last time!)

Today I hav done a little gardening in the sun, took the pooch for a stroll and now getting my nails done!
love the holidays Grin

jessplussomeonenew · 15/04/2014 15:41

Am in the office, wishing I was out enjoying the sun, and trying to sort out maternity/extended paternity leave provisions.... oh, and trying (unsuccessfully) not to be totally distracted by the slightest abdominal sensation just in case it's the first detectable movements!

Meantime, any recommendations for good books on giving birth? So far I really like Birth Skills (Juju Sundin) but wondered what others had liked?

Tallyra · 15/04/2014 17:15

hi guys. sorry for being awol, I couldn't be arsed to reset my password. I'll catch up and talk properly soon.

Foodylicious · 15/04/2014 18:35

Helloooooooooooooooooooootally

puppy I was worried I was going to measure big this week as bump is very sticky-outy, but she said I was ok (after measuring twice).

poppy I feel the same/similar, so much has happened in the last year!!!

Had a better day at work today and my boss has said ok to me taking 2 weeks AL before mat leave so I now offically finish in 5 weeks!
Has made me feel much 'lighter' finally deciding and now now knowing I will finish at 36 weeks instead of 38. Had been deliberating about it for a while.

I have finished fitting the skitring board today and started filling the gaps (we have a wibbly wobbly house with wibbly wobbly walls and now wibbly wobbly skirting to matchGrin. I hope to be able to paint 1st coat tomorrow after work, 2nd coat thursday then can start getting the room back on Friday and maybe even assemble the crib! Obviously it will be in our room once baby arrives, but want to put it up soon to make sure there are no parts missing.

jess I have not read any books at all!!! so no help here, sorry

CatsCantFlyFast · 15/04/2014 18:56

Ooh jess, books on giving birth...
Really recommend reading Ina May's guide to childbirth (and her breastfeeding book if you're interested). These were recommended to me and I'm so glad they were. Be prepared for it to be old fashioned and a bit 'hippy' perhaps BUT it really stayed in my head during labour and also REALLY helped me believe I could do it when it got tough. Even if you only read the birth stories section I think its worthwhile, they're realistic but optimistic and positive.

I also read birth skills by juju sundin but don't recall any of it being helpful/in my mind during the actual labour
