For pregnant berries at any stage. Scary thought but this is the one where some babies will appear!

Top tip girlies - put coloured sticky dots over places in your house where you'll see them to remind you to CLENCH!!!! Grin

Bunnygirlie · 02/04/2014 08:37

brod your appt yesterday sounds frustrating

Bloody hell (literally) had a nosebleed this morning for half an hour Sad

So potentially this month we have 4 lots of berry babies being born, that's insane!!!!!

Brodicea · 02/04/2014 09:09

Thanks all - was incredibly frustrated and also strangely grateful! Just want to hear all is OK and hope to the lord above that they don't send me for any more blooming scans (although always nice to see baby).

Thanks for the clench reminder kitty - I keep forgetting!

Poor you bunny! Has the flow stopped now?

Berry Baby Bonanza coming up Smile

SidneyBristow · 02/04/2014 10:00

Tally and/or Boom, are you the OP on this thread? Wink Can't believe how insane some people are!!

Blind one of my best friends had diarrhea every day for the entire 9 months, but no vomiting or nausea at all. I'm at the point now where I'm leery of eating anything, and honestly feel better after a good vom, which is making me paranoid that I've gotten some sort of pregnancy eating disorder. Either that, or I'm very sensibly tired of being sick of weeks on end. Or maybe just tired. I haven't been sleeping well. Plan to talk to the nurse about it tomorrow at my booking-in appt.

Maybe it's my foreignness showing, but the idea of a home visit (for inspection purposes???) really rubs me the wrong way! I can imagine sitting here trying to impress with what a good mother I'll be, meanwhile my dog will be going mental, trying to jump in the MW's lap. Hmm Is it a mandatory thing, or can you opt out? Merk and Charming, did you two have one? Maybe they don't do that down here?

Blind the 2 scans in a row thing, the one on Mon is our 12-week nuchal scan with the FMC - it's the 2nd part of the first appt I had previously, where we'll get blood test results for Down's, Edward's and Patau syndromes. And the baby's gender too! Grin along with a proper nuchal scan. The one on Tues is with the NHS, another nuchal, and possibly results from bloodwork they take at the booking-in which is tomorrow, for the 'combined' test. Or maybe they'll take bloods on Tues and give me results at the next MW appt, who knows, there weren't many details in the letter. Either way we'll have results from our private test by Mon so whatever they do on Tues will be a bonus.

Boom so organized, with your cooking! Will be putting that on my to-do list but praying that my mom will be here to do all the cooking

SidneyBristow · 02/04/2014 10:01

oh yeah Bunny I've had some wicked nosebleeds - scary, aren't they? Hope it doesn't happen again and that your nausea subsides soon, for good. Thanks

Brodicea · 02/04/2014 10:09

Sid the health visitor visit wasn't inspection-y at all, I was just totally worried it was going to be. She didn't look around the house, didn't ask any questions about where baby would sleep etc, just asked for DH's name and phone number, phone number / name of anyone else helping to look after baby (my mum) and then gave me lots of information.

I gather it's a fairly recent thing, seeing you before the birth, just to get you acquainted (and to give you all the government information, baby health record etc so that they can tick their boxes). I agree it feels a little intrusive when you get the letter, but it wasn't an inspection - thankfully.

Brodicea · 02/04/2014 10:09

Oh sorry sid I see you were talking about a MW visit! Forgive my brain fug!

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/04/2014 10:18

Sid I didn't get a visit beforehand but the rumour is that the health visitor here is quite lecture-y (she comes on Friday). Clearly I will wait to set up the co sleeper until after she has gone Wink

Brod, that sounds really frustrating - hope things go more smoothly now they've worked out what they want to do.

Bunny, Kitty, sorry you're feeling rough - it never fails to amaze me just how many bits of the body get affected by pregnancy!
Tally your nursery looks great - and reminds me that we really need to start clearing out the nursery-to-be (where on earth are we going to put three big bookcases?) Hope no HV's visit me any time soon!

I spent a bit of time chasing the hospital this morning as I'd heard nothing about my referral for the low Papp-A - had to get paperwork resent but at least they have it now. Being a passive patient really doesn't work!

Brodicea · 02/04/2014 15:57

Oh jess hospital frustration is something it looks like we're all contending with! Good work getting the referral ball rolling

Foodylicious · 02/04/2014 20:09

Hospital/appt/referrals are a bit of a nightmare arn't they!?!

I saw my GP on 13th Feb for referall to womens/pregnancy physio and am still waiting for any contact. Apparently there can be an 8 week wait - 8 weeks till appt is bad enough but its been 7 weeks already and the appt is likely to be a few weeks after i finally get a letter, grr.
I have a 10+ year history of back, neck & sciatic problems so this is not helpful.
Maybe I have just been spoilt before - never had to wait more that 2 weeks for letter with an appt date.

Made it to yoga this evening and was glad I made the effort, not been the last few weeks as I've been too tired/stressed to enjoy it.

BlindKitty · 02/04/2014 21:14

sid re the other thread...I'm going to have a horrendous birth if I'm to atone my sins!!!

Re diarrhoea it pissed me off that the fc insisted I had a stomach bug which freaked me out even more as was convinced it would make me mc

Re home visit I actually asked if it was like when cats protection com and check your house before giving you a kitten. The mw laughed nervously so clearly yes!!!

Tallyra · 02/04/2014 21:36

sorry for the hospital crap. I'd phone to check the letter hasn't got lost in the post... I didn't receive my 12w scan letter until I was about 10 1/2 weeks and was getting nervous so I phoned. it turned up the next day, but they were fine with me checking.

Bunnygirlie · 02/04/2014 22:24

Hi y'all!

brod nosebleed stopped after a while, fingers crossed it doesn't happen tomorrow!

Ah sid you've had the nosebleeds too, annoying aren't they! Sorry you are still feeling crappy too, not yet blooming are we!

I REALLY need to get some new work trousers now, things are a little tight now Sad

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/04/2014 22:59

Dunno if it affected anybody else but I had v bad bleeding gums especially at the end of pregnancy, sometimes they would bleed profusely for 5 mins. Still haven't totally stopped. Nor has my linea nigra gone... I found it was both above (which I could see) and below (hidden by bump) my bellybutton in the end, and all slightly off to one side. Anyway am hoping it will start to fade soon. Managed to avoid nosebleeds though
Just off for two hour sleep before the cluster feeding begins Shock

Hey foodie I've just been referred to physio today, they said it could take a while but if its 8 weeks it's hardly worth it, only 11 weeks to go.

BlindKitty · 03/04/2014 06:48

angelina that's come round so quick!

bunny I'd just get some mat wear, you'll be loads more comfortable

So day 2 of nct later. Let's hope we actually learn something this time!

Boomgoestheweasel · 03/04/2014 08:14

Morning folks!

Sorry to hear people are having referral problems - I second the suggestion to just phone up and chase. Half the time they just lose the referral I mean who the hell sends referrals by fax in this day and age

Sid fnar no wasn't OP but if a nutjob someone had said that to me there may have been tears before bedtime! Although I wouldn't have told her to F off, I'm far too refined for that Grin

Merk yeah my gums have been bad, I swapped toothbrushes and it seems to have helped. My linea nigra is also wonky, and sort of goes round my belly button rather than through it! Belly button gave up the ghost yesterday too...now got a fetching outie..

Bunny get some nice mat trousers. Honestly, you won't believe how comfy they are.

Had a strop yesterday, having batch-cooked up a storm I went down to put a second load in the freezer...and realised the first lot hadn't frozen! Yes, broken freezer, it's cold (colder than fridge) but not freezing. AWESOME, I now have 50 portions of cottage pie, chilli and fish pie to store somewhere or get my freezer fixed in the next 12 hours!

In better news, consultant appt went well. She's happy that growth is normal and I just need to go back to check my BP (I have full blown white-coat hypertension, every time it's well over 140/95 until I go and get a series done, then it drops to 120/75). So all is well Grin

Tally are you all ready yet? Eeeeeek!!

Bunnygirlie · 03/04/2014 08:28

boom broken freezer grrrrrrr

Are there such things as nice maternity trousers? Will have to look online later, do you just go for your normal size? Over wobbly tum bump?

14 weeks today! Consultant appt this afternoon, scary!

Bunnygirlie · 03/04/2014 08:31

Oh and where is best for plain black trousers my lovelies?

Boomgoestheweasel · 03/04/2014 08:33

Bunny I went for normal size but since I'm usually between sizes I went for the bigger one. I've had the same pair of jeans since I was 12 weeks and they still fit perfectly! I preferred over-bump but that's just me, you do feel a bit of a fraud in them for the first few weeks as there's a lot of extra material but you'll soon fill it Grin

Kitty how did NCT go?

Tallyra · 03/04/2014 09:24

oh no boom! have you got freecycle near you? someone nice might be able to help.
We are nearly there now. nursery is done and I'm clearing the bedroom for the Moses basket today. I went to a La Leche League meeting yesterday I was randomly invited to so I'm feeling a bit better about being able to breastfeed. might try expressing today for a few days in case there are problems.

Sid, no that's not me either. I feel for her but there are some horrible intolerant people here on mn sometimes!

kitty, I got my mat work trousers from new look and went a size up. they still want to fall down! they are under bump ones and would be great apart from that.

jessplussomeonenew · 03/04/2014 12:26

Boom, hope you manage to find somewhere to freeze all your hard work.

In the last few days I've started wearing maternity stuff for work and am enjoying both feeling comfier and actually looking pregnant. Have just ordered a few more dresses from asos and a pair of maternity work trousers from next - will report back once I get them delivered. My over bump jeans are still too baggy to wear though! Oh, and have ordered a new bikini for holiday in May - eventually went for non maternity but bigger cup size.

I've always had a tendency to bleeding gums. I finally got it under control (sonic gum care toothbrush made a huge difference) a year or so before getting pregnant. It is definitely worse now, not helped by a strong gag reflex cutting down brushing time (though a smaller brush head is a bit easier). Am planning to take full advantage of the free dental treatment! In my experience once gums get sore it takes a while for them to settle down again even if you've stopped whatever was irritating them, so hopefully it's just a matter of time, Merk.

In other news, Gaviscon is my new best friend...

Angelina77 · 03/04/2014 12:51

bunny I got some decent under-bump black trousers from New Look which I've worn from early on and still fit ok.

Angelina77 · 03/04/2014 12:56

Just spent the morning in maternity triage, had some worrying cramps and baby not moving but thankfully all seems ok. Seems it's probably just stretching but it bloody hurts and comes at regular intervals. Anyone else had this?
