I am fat, fed up, knackered, aching, heartburn-ridden and absolutely DESPERATE for the baby to be out. this will be dc3 and deffo my LAST

anyone else got a similar amount of time left and want a thread where we can share the joys of the final stretch of pregnancy

currently todays bugbear is my needing a wee constantly, which will no doubt keep me up all night again

Oh that's good news about the coffee although I have had many coffees out, I'm just dying to be brewing my own, every morning! Although with newborn and toddler I might stick to instant for now!

Yay, well done inglori0us Smile I got plenty done afterwards, cleaned more Windows, 3 loads of washing, put away toddlers small clothes and got his next size out, sorted out some newborn stuff and even changed some batteries in toys!

My best friends pregnant with twins though and she just found out her dad's dying so she's going home Saturday for three weeks (abroad). I've had a good cry on her behalf tonight... I feel a bit useless cos there's nothing I can do!

BlessedAssurance · 06/03/2014 07:33

helen isn't it just heavenly to sleep in a guest roomGrin. Mine has a new Ikea bed, haha and it is fab. Dh normally sleeps there when he comes home late after a night out with the guys and when he drinks he snores like a champ, sothe guest room is a Godsend..

Sleeping is going well, apart from waking up countless times to pee,and its not even much, more like a little trickle the whole night. I am tired though from just being me. Sitting on the floor hurts like crazy, walking is getting tricky because the baby's head is in my v-jay jay,at least it feels like it. So when i walk 10 steps i feel pins sticking me down there and without warning i have to pee but because i am in the middle of the road i double over and people in cars driving past look at me pitifullySmile

My almost 4yr old is great and in daycare everyday so i have all time to watch trash on tv or just be by myself. I stopped work 2months before my due date because the job was physical and i couln't do it anymore thank God. Baby clothes all sorted so i am just being lazy really.

However,my mind seems to have gone for a vacation. I can not read anything serious, i can't concentrate and i find watching anything serious or meaningful boring. What is that? I hope i will get my mind back when the baby comes.

Wrt wine, i do not drink, at all, but now when DH opens his beer oh my. I hated it before but now it smells and tastes so good[boak]. This boy is turning me into an alcoholicSmile and of course DH says it was about time. He thinks he has found a new drinking buddy.
Hope you all lovely ladies are doing ok under the circumstances. I miss sleeping on my back and tummy...

Heya, 1/4/14 here till my ELECS!

Also fed up, achey & heartburny. Cant wait to finish work on 21t March :)

NorthKate · 06/03/2014 16:57

Hi, I'm due 13th April with my first. Don't know the sex, so it will be a surprise!

I have been lucky and kept very well during my pregnancy so far (touching wood now!!). The only thing is the sleeping, used to sleep on my front and just can't get used to being on my side and it just makes my hips sore. Also am getting up to pee a lot during the night although its never more than a trickle!

Am counting down the days until my mat leave starts... only 7 days left Smile then I will really need to get organised. Haven't packed a bag yet or sorted much baby stuff, have bought or been given second hand stuff just need to wash and organise it.

I don't drink much either normally so not really missed it much, although it was my 30th birthday in January and would have liked some champagne or a fruity cocktail but heyho! I have been missing eggs though. I love a runny boiled or poached egg on a Sunday morning, am getting a bit fed up of scrambled Sad.

bopoityboo3 · 06/03/2014 17:25

Please can I join? Due 5th April have 1 day and 1 week left at work.
I'm soooo fed up now especially of the SPD and being hungry all the time then eating two bites of anything and feeling overly full.

Had my birth plan appointment today and midwife said baby is well down in my pelvis (she couldn't move his head at all) which got me very excited as hopefully he will be here sooner rather than later. But then she tells me he is back to back Confused which doesn't sound much fun.

NancyJones · 06/03/2014 17:35

Hi, can I join? I think I'm due later than everyone else 24/4 so I may end up on my own but I'm fed up and ready for it to be over.
This is our 4th baby. We have 3 wonderfully boys and I'm apparently having a little girl this time. So a new experience for me but I'm 43 so really feeling it this time. We didn't find out the sex for the last 3 but I had the new harmony test this time at 10wks which was amazing and tells you the sex to 99.9% accuracy which was good enough for me. Can't wait to meet her and can't wait to never be pregnant again either.

Also up to the loo constantly and my hips and back is really painful.

Somanyillustrations · 06/03/2014 17:38

I'm due 8th April with my second. I'm a student radiographer, and have 3 weeks left in work, including clinical assessments and appraisals, plus assignments to write before baby gets here!

Knackered from running round after a 3.5 year old too... AND I've got my bloody driving test on Monday after failing last week...

I just want to sleep and eat biscuits!

NancyJones · 06/03/2014 17:45

Bopoity, my ds1 engaged around 30wks but didn't home until 39wks. He was also back to back at that time but still managed to swivel round by the time he came. They gave me some pointers which I followed religiously. Not sure if they worked of whether he would have spun around anyway. Here's what I remember;
-I didn't sit on sofa at all from then on in. Only on the ball. Lots of swiveling and bouncing on ball.
-I went for one hour walk almost every night. I had SPF but power walking actually helped a little as long as I had a warm bath afterwards.

  • I did these stretching exercises on all fours. A bit like yoga.
  • I only slept on my left side and placed a pillow behind me to stop myself rolling over. Not sure why this is supposed to help but I did as they suggested anyway.

As I say, maybe none if it worked but I'd read it slowed things down and could be more painful so I was willing to try anything.

bopoityboo3 · 06/03/2014 22:49

Thanks Nancy will be trying all of these. Also going to try some cat curls as instructed by yoga teacher. Will do anything to not have to labour with a back to back baby have heard horror stories about it from a few friends.

Inglori0us · 07/03/2014 06:22

My daughter was back to back and although labour was slow it was ok. Not that I have anything to compare it to yet.

Had a massive tumble yesterday, tripped while running after dd in the playground, fell over, cut knees & hands, trusted ankle and landed on the bump. :(
8 hours in labour ward then they sent me home. Was having mild contractions but thankfully they stopped.

Knees and ankle are killing me but baby seems fine. Very scary though. Take care pregnant ladies!!
Now struggling to sleep even more than before as everything hurts! Sure it'll be better in a few days.

BlessedAssurance · 07/03/2014 09:21

Inglorious that is Sad. Glad you and the baby are ok. That must have been scary falling on your bump. Please do take care, we haven't got long to go now.
Hope you get better soon.

balenciaga · 07/03/2014 11:06

Ouch inglorious Sad glad you're ok! I did the same the other week was very scary and painful. I think when we are this pregnant it's easy to lose our balance etc.

Well I'm shattered today, am trying to have a day doing housework as place is a shit tip but keep having to sit down every few mins Blush

35 days left!!

Oh and ps welcome to the new thread joiners x

Misty9 · 07/03/2014 12:15

Glad you're ok inglorious I was worried about you (from your other thread). I definitely am more wobbly recently - but luckily running is a distant memory thanks to SPD!

Keep getting stitch like pains in my lower bump when I walk (as well as pelvis trying to disintegrate) which bloody hurts. Ds having a rare nap at the moment so I'm taking the opportunity to sit down. Random strangers are now informing me that I'll go early, due to how low I'm carrying apparently. Well, the same was said with ds - and he was dragged out at 40+5! We'll see, but I'm happy to wait for now :)

bopoityboo3 · 07/03/2014 17:45

Ouch inglourious glad you are okay. Nice to hear that your back to back was ok even if long.

Starting to break things down in my head into manageable lumps i.e. only one more year 9 lesson to teach, only one more break duty to go etc. Next week can not go quickly enough and then the joys of mat leave can start Grin

HelenHen · 07/03/2014 22:00

Haha blessed... Guest room here is usually for dh when he gets drunk too... But I'm absolutely loving it. It's just so... Bare! Lol. I can't concentrate on anything either... I've given up on watching films... Even Disney confuses me! Grin

Apparently dc is sideways and head down... But on the right side, lefts supposed to be better but dunno why! It keeps poking me in the bladder though making me think I'm about to wet myself... Joy!

I feel ridiculously sorry for ds though. He's wonderful but I'm a shit mom at the mo... I keep thinking it will get better when baby comes but that's probably not the case! I really feel like I'm failing him Sad

Inglorious nooo Shock that sounds awful! No more playground for you!

BlessedAssurance · 07/03/2014 22:18

helen you are not a bad mom and it will get better when the baby comes. We all have bad days. Around 25 weeks i was crying to DH almost every day because i felt horrible about the way i treated my DD. I just did not have patience and she picked up on that and our home became a war zone. It got better and now we are getting along fine. It is a difficult time and we are not in control of our emotions when pregnant. Sometimes it feels like i am someone else, up today, down tomorrow.

Hang in there, it will pass.

HelenHen · 07/03/2014 22:35

Thank you Smile just sometimes he looks at me like 'what the hell's wrong with ya? Come down on the floor and play now'. It must be really confusing! Thankfully dh comes home asks throws him around loads and he loves it! What do you do with dd? I bring him out every morning for a couple of hours but it's the afternoon I really struggle with. Although I have heard the words 'high pressure' mentioned in relation to next week Grin

PARK!!!!!!!!!!!! Smile

Inglori0us · 08/03/2014 07:35

I know exactly how you feel Helen. My dd is definitively not getting out as much and she knows something's about to change. I do feel sorry for her and sad our time alone together is ending.

I'm
Im feeling better today. Knee is a bit easier and ankle can bear weight. Hoping to get out today for a bit.

Saw mw yesterday and baby is now transverse. Still hoping he'll flip down but he feels soooo big now. My bump is absolutely massive!
I also had a really vivid dream last night I'd had the baby and went back to Slimming World and I'd only gained 10lb. Yeah, right!! Weird subconscious mind wishful thinking!

BlessedAssurance · 08/03/2014 08:18

helen my Dd is turning 4 end of this month so she is older than your DC, therefore she is in daycare most days. I kid you not though she is there from 9 to 4 and she chooses to be there that long. Daycare is 5 min walk so she knows mummy is home and if she wants to come back anytime they can call me and i will get her.

Our problems were from the same helen because one day i was playing hide and seek with her, running, roll on the floor games, reading and writing with[work in a daycare myself] and other things which made me the coolest mum everGrin. Then the the next day sitting on the floor was no longer an option. She got very confused but after a couple of months when she saw how big my tummy was, i think she "got" it. Dh thank God had taken over.

Parenting is hard imo, we are always on the guilty train but it gets better thankfully.. I think you are doing great already and at this stage being outdoors works like a charm...

HelenHen · 08/03/2014 10:15

Yep I was a pretty cool mom too and now I'm just a big fat couch potato Grin

Thank you though but yep I'm sick of the guilty train!

Inglorious yep I hear you about the alone time coming to an end Sad we're stepping into the unknown now and I just hope it doesn't totally mess him up!

NancyJones · 08/03/2014 12:52

Oh Helen, the guilt is hard, I know but it doesn't make you a bad mum.
My guilt at the moment isn't do much my toddler but my 2 school age boys. I feel like they were getting so little time anyway with a 2yr old taking up our time and meaning we couldn't do all the stuff we had done but now I'll have a 2yr old and a newborn. It's all such a rush to do Sch run each morning and then evenings are crazy. I hardly have time to look at their homework with them and rarely get to read with them anymore. DH is often either very late or away so evenings fall to me. Not sure how I'm going to fit anything in after this. It all seemed so easy with just 2 boys, 18mths apart! Oh well, this is definitely the last!

NancyJones · 08/03/2014 12:57

Sorry for the rant. I just feel that my eldest especially never gets any attention. My ds2 is this crazy, wild academically gifted whirlwind who always manages to get the attention he needs but my eldest is quiet and reserved and such a good boy that I feel I've been guilty of leaving him to get on with things too much.
Gosh I'm crying now! DH is out today but I'm going to make a point of trying to get in some quality time with ds1 tomorrow whilst DH has the other 2. Parenting!!!!!

BlessedAssurance · 08/03/2014 13:02

Nancy Thanks

bopoityboo3 · 08/03/2014 19:49

Has anyone packed their hospital bag yet? I had a antenatal all day refresher class today and the midwife leading it said ' as you are now 36 wks obviously you have your bag ready to go'
I haven't even thought about it Blush I have one more week at work to do and figured I'd sort it first week of mat leave. I went 12 days over with DD and was induced so think this had made me rather laid back about it but now I'm panicking and can't remember anything I took with me last time and what was helpful and what just took up space. Confused

BlessedAssurance · 08/03/2014 20:24

Yep, all packed here but i am 38 weeks on monday so . I went 14 days overdue with DC1 but have a feeling this one is not going to wait that long..
