I have 39 days left (AND COUNTING) until my planned cs on 11th april

I am fat, fed up, knackered, aching, heartburn-ridden and absolutely DESPERATE for the baby to be out. this will be dc3 and deffo my LAST

anyone else got a similar amount of time left and want a thread where we can share the joys of the final stretch of pregnancy

currently todays bugbear is my needing a wee constantly, which will no doubt keep me up all night again

Due on 22nd April with DC3 and totally exhausted - why? I don't know really maybe because I am older. I feel like such a wimp because have just decided this will be my last day of working because I am so tired.

Hello everyone Grin

BunnyTamer · 12/03/2014 00:09

I'm due 8th April but won't be allowed to go that far as I'm having a huge GD baby. Feel like his bum squashes my stomach and heart sometimes when I try to get up off the sofa. Have to wait until a week Friday to book a C Section in. A bit nervous as it's my first but really looking forward to being more able bodied and being able to eat things like dippy egg and blue cheese!

HelenHen · 12/03/2014 07:42

Don't worry... Hopefully you just ate one too many!

Inglori0us · 12/03/2014 08:59

Hello new ladies.
Still can't be arsed to go to ikea. Got a cough and sinusitis now. God, paracetamol is useless. Just had a bath with some Vicks in and now I'm basted in the stuff.
Dd is at nursery today so I'm back in bed.

Dh is away overnight tonight. If he moans about his hotel room/going out for dinner/free booze/cooked breakfast once I will divorce him.

HelenHen · 12/03/2014 09:04

Lol dh does that too and it drives me mental... I'd love to be in a hotel!

Hope ya feel better soon! Sad

I'm 34 and 4 and can't wait for due day. I have really bad back pain this morning and I feel sick. I know it sounds like I'm moaning but I'm ally not, I'm just ready for due day now, these last few weeks start to get so slow.

Inglori0us · 12/03/2014 13:58

43? Woah! No thanks. They only let you go to 40+5 here. Thank god! I'm banking on mine coming early any way (if not I'll prob going to be induced by 38w latest).

The ikea mission has been completed. Phew. Had a naughty McDonalds for lunch too. First time I've had an appetite in days and days. I also bought a huge box of choc and coconut biscuits in ikea, and 4 big bars of chocolate so that should keep me going for a bit!

HelenHen · 12/03/2014 15:05

Ah sounds yummy Smile

With ds I was induced at 40+12 and had him on 42! I still don't think he was ready!

BlessedAssurance · 12/03/2014 15:36

Hi all. I saw my midwife today and she told me that if i go overdue i might have to be induced after a few days. Last time i was induced at 42 weeks and ended up with an EMCS, so she said it is better to not wait that long. I would have loved if labour started on its own this time so i can have some experience of what it's all about but i kind of agree that i do not want to go 42 weeks again.

38+4

IngloriOusGrin no one is allowed to divorce their husband at this stage. Wait until the baby is 25 and have left your house then consider the thought...

Inglori0us · 12/03/2014 15:58

Haha Blessed you're probably right.

I had a great pregnancy massage the other day and the lady told me to try reflexology first if I'm facing an induction.

I'm not a fan of it generally. I had it years ago for some acute back pain and found it incredibly painful and unpleasant but it did give me some relief so I guess it's worth a go. She showed me the spot on the inside if the ankle that they work on, and did day it doesn't work got everyone but when she pressed there I could feel something inside my belly. Very odd but I'm open to anything.

My last induction meant I kinda had to have an epidural as I went straight into a high dosage drip. I still didn't progress so they whacked it up really high and told me it's be really painful. Not meaning to freak anyone out with this info btw. My waters had gone 30 hours previously (at 37 weeks) so time was of the essence. Also my baby was back to back so it wasn't your typical induction!

BlessedAssurance · 12/03/2014 16:18

Ouch. I am not really looking foward to being induced. The wave of pain that comes is horrible. I hear my friend going" my waters broke and the pain started but i could go to the shops and make dinner through them" what the heck? When mine started i couldn't see from the painGrin. Would love to know what the other option is like..

HelenHen · 12/03/2014 19:04

I'd love to know the other option too... Maybe even waterbirth... I've packed my bikini just in case lol. My bag is like I'm going to the beach for a weekend... Bikini, towel, magazine's, snacks etc

BlessedAssurance · 12/03/2014 20:54

Do we need towels in the hospital bag?

HelenHen · 12/03/2014 21:39

I brought one the last time and used it but I get the feeling that my hospitals just shit Grin

Inglori0us · 13/03/2014 04:29

I've packed a beach towel. Hospital did provide a towel last time but I had to ask for it and it was tiny and crunchy!!
I'm hoping to get a private room again on the post natal ward as it's likely we will need to stay a few days and I hate the idea of trying to rest surrounded by other people visitors and crying babies. They never charged us last time so I feel I'm winning and don't mind paying this time!

Can't sleep due to sinuses, sore throat and general uncomfortableness. Midwife suggested I use saline nasal spray suitable for newborns and take paracetamol. What I actually want is sudafed, Night Nurse, codeine and gin!

HelenHen · 13/03/2014 07:02

I find Vicks pretty helpful, rub it on your chest!

How do ya go about getting a private room and how much does it cost? I had my own room for the two nights we were in after I had him (ds was in nicu and they said it wouldn't be fair to have me on ward with other babies) and it was wonderful! They were lovely on post natal and that first night after I'd had him was the best sleep ever! It was wonderful and I believe it really gave me a head start on motherhood Grin

Inglori0us · 13/03/2014 08:08

The cost varies loads from hospital to hospital, there was a thread about it a couple of months back. Mine was £160 a night but we were never billed. Hooray for crappy admin!
My room was lovely. Like a nice hotel room with ensuite bathroom and table and chairs for visitors.

HelenHen · 13/03/2014 08:12

Mine was the same! Like a really cheap hotel but, after the night before, it almost seemed like pure luxury!

Hmm Blush that might be a bit much but maybe for one night. Can you just decide when you're there?

HelenHen · 13/03/2014 08:15

Is anybody else getting period kinda cramps at night? I've had it the last few nights and almost woke dh with it last night. It's at the top of my legs. I googled it and many say it's normal but some say it's early Labour and to get to hospital. I mentioned it at last gp appointment and she said normal, ligaments stretching, etc. But she didn't really seem to know what she was talking about!

Inglori0us · 13/03/2014 08:30

If it's not getting any worse and you have no other symptoms then I'd assume it's just random pains rather than labour. I'm not a doctor though!! I'm getting lots of front pelvis pain at night. I think it's SPD for me.
You can't pre-book private rooms at my hospital, even if you have elcs. It's first come first served after you've delivered so you ask if you want one and you get one if there's one available.

HelenHen · 13/03/2014 08:36

Ah cool, I'll see how I'm feeling and how bad the ward is then Smile

yeh, that's kinda what I thought. Didn't wanna start thread or people will insist I get to a&e immediately Grin

I might ring the midwife and see what she reckons. Everything else is fine though and I'm in good form with plenty of energy this week!

Aww that sounds horrible too... As if we don't have enough trouble sleeping!

Misty9 · 13/03/2014 16:05

helen does your bump go hard at the same time? I've been getting tight/period type pains in bump and tops of legs for a while, probably due to how low she is.

I had a private room last time and it was £60 I think; not ensuite though, and definitely no tables and chairs! Unfortunately they did remember to bill us eventually.

I was induced with ds (straight onto synto drip) and didn't find it too bad...but it was over quite quickly and I was considering using the gas and air when I was in transition.

I remember looking forward to Fridays when I worked - now I dread them slightly as I'm at my most knackered and ds is also tired from a week of nursery and activities. Sigh.

HelenHen · 13/03/2014 17:09

No misty, it's just the cr

HelenHen · 13/03/2014 17:10

Amps (bloody phone) spoke to mw ttoday. She said if it happens tonight, take paracetamol (never occurred to me, idiot, lol) and if it doesn't help to get to gp tmrw!
