I have 39 days left (AND COUNTING) until my planned cs on 11th april

I am fat, fed up, knackered, aching, heartburn-ridden and absolutely DESPERATE for the baby to be out. this will be dc3 and deffo my LAST

anyone else got a similar amount of time left and want a thread where we can share the joys of the final stretch of pregnancy

currently todays bugbear is my needing a wee constantly, which will no doubt keep me up all night again

Thanks Blessed. How are you getting on?

Misty9 · 02/04/2014 18:38

I take my hat off to you inglorious - I can hardly cope with a whole day of looking after ds at the moment! I'm lucky in that dh works from home and is winding down his work at the moment anyway for when the baby comes, so he's finished by 3pm most days. Definitely try to get some rest when he's back as you'll probably go into labour as soon as you relax!

39wks here and no sign of anything happening. That said, I didn't get any advance warning last time, so who knows. Intense pressure when I sit down but that could easily be trapped wind and uncomfortable bhs, but all par for the course at this stage I think.

So hungry though! Anyone else? I'm wheat intolerant and heartburn is back, so I'm really struggling to come up with decent snacks. Any ideas?

LastOneDancing · 02/04/2014 20:01

My appetite is coming and going Misty, I'm either ravenous or really not bothered. I've got a bit of a thing for cucumber though...

I'm so glad the baby hasn't arrived while your DH been gone Ing! I was a bit concerned by the silence Smile

Well, long walk, a day of cleaning, power nap and curry for tea, let's see if it kicks off overnight again! Sweep tomorrow - I'm excited!

Inglori0us · 02/04/2014 21:07

I can't really face food but I'm forcing down an evening meal and having some fruit throughout the day. Constantly thirsty so srinking pints of squash all day. I need the loo as soon as I've been which is annoying, think the baby is really squashing my bladder. It feels like all my internal organs are being crushed!

Dd is resisting naps but I brought her into our bed this afternoon and cuddles her to sleep. It was really nice to have that time with her.

Dh now tells me he's going to Dublin on Tuesday but "just for the day". That'll help if I go into labour then! Don't really care anymore. Just want this baby out!!

Good luck with your sweep tomorrow Last!

Misty, you're probably right. The bh have come back now dh is home!

I've eaten half a fresh pineapple since yesterday morning. That's supposed to help isn't it?

Misty9 · 02/04/2014 21:11

I'm afraid you'd need to eat about 7 pineapples for it to have any (non scientific!) effect inglorious !

How far along are you last ? I don't think I'll be offered a sweep until 41wks. It's starting to get frustrating that it could literally be any day now. I can't keep myself in a constant state of anticipation, but I also feel reluctant to resign myself to three more weeks of this...

Time for cornflakes :) I seem to have a corn addiction this pregnancy!

Inglori0us · 02/04/2014 21:20

Oh well. The only food I fancy is acidic fruit so I'll just keep munching the pineapple anyway. :)
Still got 11 days til my cs date. Feels like it's endless!

LastOneDancing · 02/04/2014 21:40

Yeah I'm into fresh fruit and salad or breakfast stuff (toast, cereal, milk)! Proper dinners leave me uninspired! DH is very grumpy about it as he likes a proper dinner and I'm all 'meh...'

I'm 39+4 Misty but baby was already 7.6 estimate at 36 week scan so MW has said the consultant will do a sweep (please please please). I'm worried that each day Baby Last is in there s/he's getting bigger and bigger!

Just dropped half a cup of boiling raspberry tea on my bump. I feel so guilty... Please don't call SS Sad

Misty9 · 02/04/2014 22:52

Ow last are you ok? Don't panic, ds was 9lb at 40+5 and his birth was fine won't mention the three hours pushing his head out though.. Grin

Suppose I'd better get to bed and attempt sleep...

LastOneDancing · 02/04/2014 23:13

I'm fine thanks! It was my own fault for trying to carry everything up the stairs at once - I've now got a nice pink patch on my tummy and received a couple of angry kicks. Poor baby.

Inglori0us · 03/04/2014 06:53

Ouch Last. Good luck today! Let us know how it goes.

Another crap nights sleep here. Can't get comfy and turning over is a nightmare.

Got 2 hours of private work today with an old client. Thought I may as well as dd is out all day and the money is good and the work isn't stressful at all. Needless to say dh not impressed! It'll keep me busy though.

Yesterday I built and painted the ikea chest of drawers finally and put away some baby clothes. Nowhere neR enough space for it all though. Not sure what the solution is other than move house!

LastOneDancing · 03/04/2014 07:18

Morning! Hmmm... I got woken up about 6 with period type pains which particularly painful but definitely different to braxtons.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up but it's hard not to symptom spot - is there anything you experienced ladies recommend to encourage things if it is... You know what?!

I've bought a couple of big storage boxes from the works - nice ones with 'the tiger that came for tea' on to store clothes on top of the wardrobe. Our chest of drawers is already rammed with MIL purchases, but that's a whole other thread... Smile

milz2014 · 03/04/2014 07:56

5 weeks until my planned section. eeek!

Inglori0us · 03/04/2014 08:47

Ooh Last, it migh be happening! My advice is download a contraction counter app for your phone. There's loads of free ones. Then you can keep a check on if the pains are getting more frequent or lasting longer.

Hi Milz. Hope your 5 weeks goes quickly for you.

I'm having more braxtons today but still mild. Dh has gone to Reading today (from S London) so he's not too close by. Have consultant check up tomorrow morning, then pre-op meeting with anaesthesiologist a week tomorrow. Feels like it's getting close now.

LastOneDancing · 03/04/2014 10:21

hi Milz - are you all ready & prepared? Is this your 1st?

I have downloaded my counter & I'm averaging about 15min intervals but not particularly strong, just like a bad period pain.

If it continues I don't know if I should keep this consultants app - which means the faff of getting someone to take me to hospital - or cancel & stay at home to see if it kicks off!

Will you have a scan tomorrow Inglorious? Remind me - do you have a date booked for your section?

Inglori0us · 03/04/2014 12:46

No scan tomorrow Last. Just a check up.

ELCS is booked for a week on Monday. The surgeon will scan me that morning to check baby's position.

Inglori0us · 03/04/2014 21:00

Eurgh. Feeling rough. Was sick earlier after feeling really nauseous all of sudden. Then I felt really light headed and weak. Had a hours sleep on the sofa and woke up feeling better. Just had some food.

How's everyone else?

NKffffffffe749edcfX11d6d7397af · 03/04/2014 21:10

Ahhh...jut two weeks till my planned c-section!!! Settling in to maternity leave and feeling a bit odd... Still really stuck for names. Suddenly don't feel very prepared...

Inglori0us · 03/04/2014 21:54

We have no names either NK. How are you finding mat leave? I did some freelance work today as I've been bored. Same with my last pregnancy, I ended up working til the day my waters broke. Said I wouldn't do it again but here I am, working away! Want to keep busy. Got a bit more to do in the morning then I'll stop. Only a week to go for me!

BlessedAssurance · 04/04/2014 15:06

Inglorious-thanks for asking. I am still struggling and not there yet but i know it will get better. It can't get any worse than it has been- hopefully. Please STOP working and restGrin. You are going to need it for when baby comes.

LastSad forget SS. How are you? Boiling tea my Lord!! If anyone should get a visit from SS it's me. I was on the bed waiting for Dh to pass me the baby, i settled down, was just opening my arms at the same time Dh handed me the baby. Result was an arm whack on Ds's head. I am not proud but i might have raised my voice at Dh,something to do with coordination. Ds is fine, infact he carried on with whatever he had been doing or not

Nk-names can be a pain. We also strggled with choosing a name for Ds. Then when he was born called Dominic-lovely name but we felt it was not right for him. In the end we chose Jonathan and it just is the name for him[may i say i kicked out MIL for wanting to call him BoaGrin so take your time. When the baby is here you will find a name that will suit him. Good luck..

Inglori0us · 04/04/2014 19:12

All drama here. Went for my consultant appt having lots of much stronger contractions. Sent to maternity unit with view to EMCS. Had exam showing 1cm dilated and transferred to labour ward. So far so good. The consultant on shift scanned me and baby had moved to head down in the time it's taken to get to the hospital. Cs now cancelled and contractions tailed off. I'm being kept in overnight incase he turns again.
I'm obvs glad I don't need EMCS but I'm so tired and really I just want this baby out now, and I'm not mentally prepared at all for a natural labour.

My last labour was 2 days long, traumatic and I needed a long recovery after a horrendous episiotomy infection, and that was with a skinny 3kg baby. This ones a whopper and I'm scared I'll end up with forceps or EMCS anyway. Also this poxy pregnancy could now drag on for weeks more (I'm 37+4).
I'm on a noisy & busy ante natal ward, which has women with newborns on it as post natal is full.
Generally annoyed.

Jonathan is a lovely name Blessed. xx

LastOneDancing · 05/04/2014 00:40

Baby Last arrived Friday morning after a flurry of drama starting with my waters going pop in a costa coffee (cringe) and ending in an EMCS at 5.15am as I only got to 9.5cm and it turns out baby's giant head had got wedged anyway Confused

He's a chunky 8lb 8 and incredibly gorgeous with chubby cheeks and fuzzy blonde hair but guess what NKf.... He has no name!

How are you getting on Inglorious? Hope you get some sleep in hospital, the ward I'm on is like Piccadilly circus and there's only 2 of us in here.

Inglori0us · 05/04/2014 05:17

Congrats Last! Great news.

My waters broke an hour ago so I'm having my baby today!! Hooray! Exciting.
Bit rubbish that I've not had hardly any sleep though. Adrenalin is going to have to see me through. I'm still on the ante natal ward but I burst into tears at 1am about a lady's constantly crying newborn and midwife reluctantly let me sleep in a side room. Not moving now, haha!
Contractions are 4 mins apart.

Misty9 · 05/04/2014 07:14

Oh wow, I'm getting left behind here!
Congrats last and Grin at your waters going in costa. With ds mine went in our favourite pub after lovely meal - tbh they didn't bat an eyelid!

Exciting inglorious I bet you're glad to be finally getting on with it. Can't deny I'm jealous though... Hope it all goes well - baby's head down now is that right?

Is anyone else still pregnant?! Looks like I'm headed for post dates again...

CaipirinhasAllRound · 05/04/2014 07:49

I'm still here misty (and also a tad jealous)! Currently 38+3
Congrats Last and good luck today Inglorious!

BlessedAssurance · 05/04/2014 09:23

Preens) thanks Inglorious. We love it and actually use it. Dominic was just heavy on him.pheew! Glad we changed it asap.

last congratulations youThanks. Well done! You went all the way to 9.5 only to get Emcs? What is wrong with these kids nowadaysSmile. Glad that you and baby are doing great. Good luck on choosing a name.

Great news Inglorious. All the best for today and don't come back until you have had mini ingloriousSmile.
