Hi total my ds also had a tongue tie and it made for a nightmare. Annoyed me how the NHS didn't spot and sort it from the beginning... I just got told he was jaundiced and needed to feed through it. Where are you based total? It was going to take 3 wks on NHS to get tongue tie sorted so I went private and it was over in a flash. Managed to get it on work health insurance but think it would have been about £90 if we paid ourselves. Worth it though as his feeding improved and I could carry on bf for months. Was very stressful though and everyone has a different opinion. The best people I found was a breastfeeding counsellor. She was very supportive and not critical which you don't need when an emotional wreck. But I also met a right plonker of a bf councillor once so I do think its a person by person thing.
Whatever though, saggys advice is good. Keep up the expressing as will help increase your milk supply. And whatever option you choose it's okay and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Too many women are made to feel guilty for choices (or sometimes just the right thing to do!) they make and shouldn't. Take care of yourself xx ps oh and fenugreek herb is supposed to help milk production.

Eek loads of luck saggy nearly there nearly there! Thinking of you so much this morning. DD obviously is too as she has insisted on dressing up as bagpuss for world book day?! her favourite tv programme at the moment, she has clearly missed the book part!

garden thanks for the induction encouragement Smile I think I'm about there with wanting baby out, will be frustrating if they send me home tomorrow to wait for section next week. Blood tests back today so will see what they say, itching isn't persistent though so hopefully just odd rash rather than OC.

bakingtins · 06/03/2014 07:47

total have a look at the milk matters website, run by 2 v good lactation consultants who specialise in TT. They will be able to put you in touch with someone in your area.

MrsGiraffe12 · 06/03/2014 08:16

Good luck saggy xx

pgchimp · 06/03/2014 08:17

great news from squiz and very best if luck to saggy and ryvita today.

I am 26+3 and people feeling they can comment on the size of the bump has started. ooh it us going to be big. ooh you have suddenly expanded. I think this is going to drive me mad!

MrsGiraffe12 · 06/03/2014 08:27

Haha pgchimp me too, I'm only 13+4 and people feel the need to comment on my tummy and that I'll have a big baby. Urgh, they can just sod off. Surely they know that's one of the most annoying things they can say to a pregnant lady x

Thunderpantsarego · 06/03/2014 08:48

Good luck saggy! x x

squizita · 06/03/2014 09:14

Quick question - in error my scan notes (12 weeks) have me down as purely asian but I am 3/4 white 1/4 asian. I know different conditions apply to different ethinicities more and less ... should I ring them and let them know or just mention it next time I'm in (4th April)?

squizita · 06/03/2014 09:14

...the irony is I look completely white and I only know to check as they were slow to pick up my molar for that reason!

Thunderpantsarego · 06/03/2014 09:30

Hi squiz, that's strange isn't it? Do you know if they're likely to do anything different based on this in between now and 4th? If so, ring em now, otherwise they'll probably tell you to bring it up then so they can change your notes I reckon.

Alb1 · 06/03/2014 09:38

Good luck today saggy! Smile

I rang them - it's wrong on the print out only. On the computer it's correct. It's just the odds for different genetic problems vary slightly depending on ethnicity - but only slightly.

Saggy Best of luck!

Pixielady83 · 06/03/2014 10:08

Ooh saggy exciting! Hope DP is doing ok too and not too nervous. Have they told you if you're at all dilated already?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 06/03/2014 10:17

CorporeSarnie · 06/03/2014 11:48

Wishing lots of luck to saggy, fingers crossed you are seen very soon.
I reach a new landmark tomorrow - the gestation at which I had my MC. I tested a lot sooner in this pregnancy, so feels like I've known for a lifetime already, and having seen the gestational sac this week, exactly as it should be, I should be feeling OK I guess. But I am not feeling particularly sick, I've been quite hot in the night, my pelvic floor feels 'heavy', I am tired and grumpy - a weird mixture of symptoms that makes me nervous. I spotted for a week before losing the pregnancy last time, so in that respect I am not feeling bad, but I know that making it through another couple of weeks until I see the MW is going to be tough. Last night DH popped out after dinner and I failed utterly to motivate myself to get DD to bed - I simply couldn't be arsed to move! The new babies here do help with remaining positive - there is no real reason that it should happen again.

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 06/03/2014 11:52

Good luck today saggy, hope it all goes perfectly for you. Enjoy newborn cuddles with your special princess xx
