I found some great nursing bras on nursing bra shop.co.uk had a great selection and ones that made boobies look good whilst being functional!! Can't remember the make I went for but they were ace.

MrsGiraffe12 · 12/02/2014 20:24

aoife I'm ok thanks. The aspirin I'm on for my pre eclampsia in my previous pregnancy seems to be helping the pain x

LondonJen · 12/02/2014 20:35

Thanks Squiz and Cat, hope you're doing well at 8+4. Changing the bedding today was a bit much too. Not keen on the idea of being this out of puff for 8 months tho I will take it if it means success I really will

Handsfull hon I'm sorry your appointment was like that, I bet you were glad when it was done. He does sound a sweetie! I think I made a boob with the time as appt is not till after 4pm so will prob spend all day with it looming over me. Gah.

kjh5 · 12/02/2014 21:28

Thanks fedup I'll def have a look on there - ordered some Hotmilk ones and just had an email to say they've been dispatched from New Zealand Shock Hope they get here soon. I'm currently at work in a pyjama top because the built-in bra is the only thing I can bear to wear at the moment - have covered up the fact that I'm essentially at work in my pyjamas with a thick jumper. Needless to say some genius has turned the heating up in here and it's like a sauna - so I'm sweating buckets but can't take my jersey off... Pregnancy robs you of all dignity!

london I had the breathless thing from early on, it's something to do with your body diverting loads of blood to your womb for the bubba :) needless to say it gets worse... Which is a good thing!

Handsfullandlovingit · 12/02/2014 21:38

Yes to breathlessness! When I got pg by mistake with dd, in hindsight the first symptom was running out of puff while running before work. Thank you for reminding me, I've been berating myself for being out of shape... Which I am, but anyway.

Mummytothearkbuilder · 12/02/2014 21:55

Hello ladies :-)

I wondered if I could join? I'm not sure if anyone will remember me but I was on here a lot last year after our losses. We had a miscarriage in Feb and then another in June, both at 6 weeks and it was heartbreaking.

We decided to stop TTC and just concentrate on having some quality time with our son and recovering from the 2 losses. I decided to focus on my career and gained promotion at work and then discovered in September that I was pregnant!!!

It has been a tough pregnancy as I was sick until 20 weeks but its all going well and I am now 27 weeks pregnant with a little girl :-)

It's fab to see so many of you lovelies on here :-)

Xxxx

Aoifebelle · 12/02/2014 22:16

Hello ark builder. I remember you, I was on the boards last summer. Didn't get my happy ending them but am hoping like you it will be third time lucky.

So lovely to hear you are doing so well. There is a mythical fb page where all the graduates go. There may be more people you know there as well.

JBrd · 12/02/2014 22:31

Hello ark! I remember you, too, probably from this board? I've only just come back, too. Congratulations on your pregnancy! Hope that it'll be boring and uneventful right to the end for you from now on.

aoife I'm 6+3, and went to the GP as soon as I got my BFP two weeks ago (it seems a lot longer than that!). But in my area this only means that you'll get on the system and are marked as being pg, the midwife will then eventually get in touch to arrange the booking appointment. I'm still waiting to hear from her, but wouldn't expect to have the appt before at least 7-8 weeks.

I'm freaking out a bit at the moment - had a dull backache most of the day, and tonight my discharge was slightly darker than usual (sorry tmi). Please let this be a false alarm, please please.

pixie she was in the bath after after contractions all day that didn't get any closer together, then she felt the urge to push and pop! There's his head she said she was petrified and new she had to get the rest of him out, she placed him on her chest and then pushed out the placenta. She had her other 2 DC downstairs along with her mobile and her fella was at work do she didn't want to scare them, she is mega brave! I'd have passed out hahaa

Thanks london I've spent hours in there complete with candles, music and a warm brew ;) kids cottoned on too so they've now adopted my bubble baths complete with brews

mrsG so glad to hear your feeling better

fod27 · 13/02/2014 01:18

kjh my mother loves to run me down in public I find the " Another liquid lunch mother?" Tends to work very well or "ignore her she gets overly excited when she's on day release" then turn to her and say "see this is why the carers wont take you out anymore"

squiz every labour is soooooo different I think it's hard to comment, DS was 8lb 9, he was my first and I was 17 so I was terrified (still a girl) and ended up having pethadine and being cut - my son was born very quiet which I found distressing at the time but I was told that was down to the drugs however he's been quiet ever since so it's anyone's guess

DD was 9lb 4 I had only gas and air (mainly because I left it until I new birth was imminent before going into hospital as I was messed about so much first time) I found that labour easier because I could bear down more as I could feel her more - however DS was back to back and DD wasn't

Truth is there are soooo many variables that you have to do what's right for you, after my D and C I heamoraghed so much during and post op that all hope of home/water birth has been taken from me - I'm really gutted about it but DH is happy that there's medical intervention available should it be needed - just as well I don't get a say or he'd be feeling my wrath again

fod27 · 13/02/2014 01:23

mummy hiyaaaaaaaa!!!!! I remember you! I mc not long after your first! I'm sooo bloody pleased to see you here and sooo far along! What fabulous news! Awwww I love this site!

kjh5 · 13/02/2014 02:20

jbrd backache is totally normal during the 1st , 2nd and 3rd trimesters! I think it's something everyone seems to worries about at first... So try not to panic!

Hi Ark how fabulous to see you here!! Love your happy story :)

Fod OMG!! Your friend is amazingly brave - that's a crazy story - but kind of empowering at the same time

fod27 · 13/02/2014 03:00

That's what I thought too kjh I've messaged her best friend and mentioned the idea of having the local paper doing a story on her - what a fabulous keep sake for her lil man ;)

I take it you can't sleep either?

bakingtins · 13/02/2014 07:18

mummy wonderful to see you here! Congratulations!

I'm another breathless/dizzy person. My blood pressure is down in my boots.

jbrd hope everything has settled. Aches and pains all par for the course.

kjh5 · 13/02/2014 08:15

Haha fod I work nights and find the distraction of a bit of MN keeps me sane at the end of my shift. Although I'm not sleeping brilliantly at the moment. Par for the course in the third trimester and suffering from SPD I suppose?

Can't say I'm overly thrilled at being awake at 8am but we're expecting builders around to lay the floors in our flat. I've only had 4hours of sleep so I'm tired, grumpy and they're late! Angry

squizita · 13/02/2014 08:47

Hi Mummy so glad to hear things are working out! :)

Thanks Fod yeah I know it can go any way, TBH I have no illusions about some painless magical home birth etc': I want to be somewhere with blood packs, painkillers and a midwife with good embroidery skills if needed. My mum's 1st were twins, so she is very down to earth about it (calming) though on the topic of TMI mums... she does say things like "If the experienced midwife says you need a cut, you need a cut, you don't want to tear from f**y (or C word) to arsehole..." in Costas causing mass disgust.
The bath story sounds Shock (in a happy ending way)... accidental water birth!

JBrd · 13/02/2014 09:49

Brown cm this morning Sad I'm (quietly, because I'm at work) freaking out - this is how my mcs started... Sad

Pixielady83 · 13/02/2014 10:04

jbrd really hope it's not the start of anything, how do you feel otherwise? will be thinking of you today, hope it turns out to be nothing xxx

Pixielady83 · 13/02/2014 10:05

welcome back mummy so nice to hear you are well along the way Smile

LondonJen · 13/02/2014 10:19

He he handsfull glad to be of assistance! Kjh I like your positive take on this, I will have to sit quietly and put MrLondon in charge of laundry! Such a shame Grin. I am laughing that you are in your pjs at work btw! Good thinking if you're comfy but highly amusing!

Bakingtins I do usually have slightly low bp, perhaps that exagerates it then? That would make a lot of sense not you've mentioned it!

Hello Ark, sorry you had a tough time before but lovely to hear you're doing so well now.

Fod, that is toooo cute that your LO's have brews in the bath to be just like you!!

JBird I'm sorry you've got a symptom that sparks the dread feelings. It's not over yet. Hand holding a plenty here xx

HopefulHamster · 13/02/2014 10:19

Hi Jbrd, I'm 6+2 and slightly off-colour discharge here too. I can't be sure it's not normal - I am constantly knicker checking and holding tissues up to the light (what have I become), but I think it's slightly browner than it should be. I'm terrified and keep deciding I'm fine one minute, then it must all be over the next. How are your symptoms and such? I'm also worried because I don't really have any... Could you book an early scan? I've had fert treatment so will be getting one on Monday - I had a bleed last week (which had gone away until today's discharge issues) so it can't come quick enough!

Hope everyone else is well, sorry haven't read back properly! Too busy checking knickers!

bakingtins · 13/02/2014 10:35

Offering a hand-hold to jbrd and hamster the first few weeks are so hard. Hope everything settles down for both of you.

GuffSmuggler · 13/02/2014 10:52

Yay mummy great to see you, I think we were on the TTC thread together last year.

Sorry some of you are having worrying times, thinking of you jbrd and hamster, sometimes the only way is to get through one day at a time.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/02/2014 14:10

Hospital day today for me. git to my 10.50 scan appointment only to discover that it was at 9.00!
they fitted me in though and Ryvita is looking good. All her wafty measurements are levelling out and she's just about average throughout. Smile Then saw the diabetes crew and got told to try harder! Sad They considered giving me some medication to help but decided not to as that would mean induction at 38 weeks and there's not much point given that my girly is not huge anyway. So its brown flipping bread and salad still for me! Confused And induction at 39 weeks instead. unless Ryvita makes her own plans!
