Oh poor you saggy the diabetes thing must feel like the last straw Sad glad that Ryvita is looking good though! Smile how are they proposing to induce you? I've been reading up about induction by breaking waters (what they're proposing for me if I go over) and it sounds a bit like it can go 0-60 very quickly with hard contractions, eek. Apparently it can make labour quicker than normal though. Keeping my fingers crossed that I go naturally too!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/02/2014 15:50

well personally, having 2 previous inductions id go for prostin pessaries.
I've got my eye very much on Ryvita's safety and I think you're right about ARM. Also the hormone drip can be very full on so I'm not overly keen on the idea of that either. TBH im hoping we go spontaneously. Smile

GuffSmuggler · 13/02/2014 16:37

Glad baby is looking good saggy but goodness only knows how you're coping with the diabetes, pregnancy is hard enough without that!

Really hope I don't go over, DS was 39 weeks so am hoping I won't have to think about induction (I'm too scared to even have a sweep!!)

kjh5 · 13/02/2014 16:43

Glad Ryvita is doing well Saggy! Do you have any more scans before D-Day for was that the last one? Sucks about the GD :( but at least the end is in sight? (I sometimes want to punch people who say this to me and yet I can't help saying it myself...)

How are you doing? Jbrd and Hopeful? Hope you are doing ok and hanging in there.

If anyone fancies a bit of a giggle, I stumbled across this website earlier today www.pregnantchicken.com/home/ (was referenced in another MN thread) and it has given me a bit of a giggle. If you can get past the Americanisms (although the blogger is Canadian) there is some useful advice on pregnancy and some fairly entertaining posts

squizita · 13/02/2014 16:53

saggy glad to hear Ryvita looks good but sorry indeed to hear of your brown bread and salad situation.

Jbird and Hopeful keeping fx crossed for you both.

KJ Thanks for the link, will have a look.

I've got a bit of a backache, might mention it at my next appointment (Tues) simply because I think it feels similar- but 100 times milder- to my APS back/joint pains (when not on aspirin/clexane) so I wonder if they'd up my dose? I know some folk go on 40mg not 20. Mind you it could just be the awful weather.

And just because I cannot say it to anyone else: healthfood shop faux pot noodles taste of nothing when they go in you, but somehow taste of venomous arse when they shoot out of your mouth an hour later. Angry At least there's room for dinner tonight. Those milkshakes better be pasteurised!!

Lieslvontrapp · 13/02/2014 16:59

saggy/Pixie I've got an induction booked for 22nd and really hoping things happen naturally before then or at least if I have to be induced that the pessary works. The drip sounds hardcore do reckon I'd need an epidural. A bit gutted about going overdue really as was so hoping for a water birth in mlu.

mummy I remember u from the ttc thread. Lovely to see u on here and hear that you've already reached the 3rd trimester.

Mummytothearkbuilder · 13/02/2014 17:08

Thanks for the welcome backs ladies - forgot how lovely it was being part of these threads :-)

Hope things are okay JBird and Hopeful - the early days are so hard - I have everything crossed for you both and sending positive thoughts your way.

I have an uber relaxed evening planned tonight - hubby is out for the evening and my little miss bump feels huge so once DS is tucked up in bed its a nice bath and trashy tv for me - bliss!! :-) xxx

Pixielady83 · 13/02/2014 17:09

liesl one of my friends who was put on the drip said she didn't have time for an epidural and things went very quickly after that - she had had pessary twice first which hadn't work. She said the syntocin was hard but at least it meant everything happened quickly - after days of waiting to get started, her baby was there within a couple of hours. The pessary sounds much nearer to a normal labour. Due to my previous section they won't let me have pessary or drip, so it's ARM or straight to section if I go over. I'm not feeling that great about ARM but I suppose if there's a chance of natural labour after that it's worth a try rather than going directly to section. Trying very hard not to get too obsessed with it, 3 1/2 weeks to go yet. Fingers crossed for us all!

guff DD was just before the 39 week mark as well, so the thought of going over is one I'm not handling very well - when the consultant was throwing around 11/12 March as section dates I was thinking 'I might still be pregnant then??!!'

Aoifebelle · 13/02/2014 19:30

JBd, Giraffe, hopeful how are you all? I do hope the worrying symptoms are abating. I am finding time going sooooo slowly, and haven't had any major upsets as yet. I have all things crossed for you.

saggy great news that ryvita is on track, sucky news about the diabetes. Do you know if anything can be done to prevent gd? Just thinking ahead and conscious of my newly develoed sweet tooth.

Nothing new from me, except I think I am beginning to feel my womb. No cramps but I think I can feel it. This didn't happen until 10/11 weeks last time, when I could definitley feel something different particularly when I stood up. I am now wondering twins??? May ask for that early scan after all.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/02/2014 20:15

Aoife I don't know about preventing gd really, maybe just eat diabetes friendly just in case?

Penguinita · 13/02/2014 20:16

For those of you that we're thinking about getting Hotmilk maternity lingerie, there is a special offer on at zulily.co.uk for the next ten hours. 65% off, with most bras £11 or £12 instead of £30. You have to sign up to the website though, not sure if they then bombard you with emails.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/02/2014 20:45

Bum. None of those hot milk bras come in my size! Sad

Pixielady83 · 13/02/2014 21:07

zuliliy sends a daily email after you've signed up which isn't so bad. The hotmilk bras are the best reductions I've seen but they do have gorgeous kids clothes reduced to a semi reasonable price on a regular basis (by my fairly tight standards that is Grin ).

fod27 · 13/02/2014 23:06

kjh I don't envy you! Night shifts and SPD! Your a braver lady than I! squiz think your mums right - just do what feels best for you and ignore every bugger else (as women we tend to do that with every other aspect of our lives) nod and smile ;)

london I'm beginning to think that was a big mistake - I've drawn the line at candles in the bath although I've now lost my iPhone and docking station to their bathroom antics!

fod27 · 13/02/2014 23:13

saggy so pleased to hear that Ryvitta is measuring out - bet that's a huge relief! In your honour I have had bacon and ham tagitelli with cheese sauce for tea there was a ceasar salad for balance ;)

jbrd, hopeful and mrsG thinking of you and hoping for brighter tomorrow's for you all

leis yayyyyyy there's a date! Which means baby will arrive before then! Top and bottom of it is there's a baby coming!!!!!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 14/02/2014 08:33

Thanks Fod. I appreciate that. Wink Smile

JBrd · 14/02/2014 08:57

Had red blood this morning when I put the progesterone in Sad I don't even know how I feel at the moment. Have to get through the day somehow, thankfully, there is a lot to do at work.
Please, this can't be happening again...

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 14/02/2014 09:11

Holding your hand Jbrd. It could well be nothing. Distraction is the order of the day today. Keep busy. xx

Aoifebelle · 14/02/2014 09:13

Hang in there JBd. Maybe get to your docs. they may not scan you but they could do the 24hr Hcg test. It may help put your mind at rest. Always feckin happens on a Friday!

TeaAndANatter · 14/02/2014 10:03

Thinking of jbird and hamster today, and crossing everything xxxxx

Utterly convinced that this one is coming early (not today, just early!), due to feelings very low down, but midwife says is very normal for no 3, and probably won't be any earlier than the others. Feels like I'm getting a headbutt in my whiptangoulash regularly.

Pixielady83 · 14/02/2014 10:10

keeping everything crossed for you jbrd xx

squizita · 14/02/2014 10:43

FX Jbird it's all OK. I've had some tiny drops that never came to anything really hoping that happens with you, but the very sight of blood is so scary. :( Maybe try your GP?

Alb1 · 14/02/2014 10:46

Thinking of you jbird, hoping everything's ok for you!

I have scan doom looming today, 12 week scan is at 4pm, have absolutely no reason to think anythings wrong but I'm terrified anyway, hope this crazy paranoia eases slightly after today if all goes well tho I suspect im gona be paranoid about this for life

kjh5 · 14/02/2014 12:06

jbrd hope you are hanging in there, quite a lot of us have had bleeding on here, I had quite a bit in the first trimester and I'm still here at 30 weeks. You should be able to go down your EPU for a scan... Not sure where you live but if its self referral then most will have no problem having a look to see what is going on. If you are pre-6wks they may not be able to see much but I found the midwives to be lovely and very helpful every time I went to the hospital Thanks

Good luck for the scan at 4 Alb - we've all been there with the scan doom, Fx everything goes well and you get to see your LO wriggling away on screen x
