Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, pregnant with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Hey all, had a busy weekend but am back in the copter - lots has been going on!

Welcome bunny!

Went to see my SIL, her DP and their six month old and they gave us a ridiculous amount of stuff which I have been sifting through - 115 different articles of clothing, including 21 newborn sleep suits and 6 tiny baby sleep suits (he was born at 32 weeks) as well as nappies, blankets, muslins, pram suits, books, hats a clothes rail and just truck loads of shizz. It's all very lovely but a bit scary and overwhelming!

We have a list of things we need which we are crossing off as we go: nicked it from this website, but totally worried something very important will be missing!

jessplussomeonenew · 27/01/2014 16:44

Thanks for the welcome Smile

Tallyra, yes I did dip into the HG thread for a while but am doing much better now - still throwing up a lot but able to get enough food and drink which is a vast improvement! So sorry yours is going on so long - can't imagine how grim that must feel.

Bunnygirlie · 27/01/2014 18:28

Hi everyone!

Def need some more newbies in here, I feel like I'm in limbo, don't belong anywhere Confused

winohhh · 27/01/2014 18:33

Hi bunny!! I feel the same!! I'm lurking all over the place. Currently 6w5d, and terrified it's not going to stick. Do you know if you're having an early scan?

Bunnygirlie · 27/01/2014 18:46

Hey wino I'm scared too! I'm currently i don't know what! Is it weird that I keep peeking in the bathroom cabinet at the sticks?!?

Scan 2 weeks today Shock it feels too soon!

Thunderpantsarego · 27/01/2014 18:50

Hi hi everyone and welcome jess, congrats!

There you go bunny, two more newbies and many more berries to follow very soon.

Thunderbaby seems to be doing well. Head down and a bump of 31cm whatever that means

winohhh · 27/01/2014 18:52

I tested everyday for 10 days, and stuck them on a sheet of paper so I could see the line get darker. Also took pictures on my phone so I could check during the day!! So I don't think you're weird, but perhaps I'm not entirely sane either!!

I had a scan at 6 weeks, which helped, but only for a couple of days. I'm back to obsessing about miscarriage rates again. I'll probably have another scan at 8 weeks. I hope if I see a good heart beat then I can start to relax (although that's what I said at 6 weeks!)

Thunderpantsarego · 27/01/2014 18:54

Oh yeah- test sticks. I still have mine in my underwear drawer. And I still look at it now and then.

win step away from the mc rates...

BlindKitty · 27/01/2014 19:01

. Good luck for your booking in appointment but doubt they'll try to listen for a heartbeat at this stage as ots really difficult to hear. Mine wouldn't until 15 weeks although it is possible to hear before then. You could always buy a Doppler from Argos? They're about £20

bunny there's plenty of newbies now to keep you company so you can't leave!

winohhh · 27/01/2014 20:05

You are totally right thunder!! Looking at miscarriage rates is really not helping me!!

PuppyMummy · 27/01/2014 20:16

bunny I still look at my sticks although less now I have evidence of an actual baby In here! I will keep my sticks in my memory box until they go mouldy!

kitty I can't leave coz I never arrived, still dangling from the bottom of the rope ladder.

Question, so in 2 weeks time will I be 6 weeks then even though it's just been 2 weeks since embryo transfer?
Is it natural to feel your tummy is doing weird things or am I imagining it?

Foodylicious · 27/01/2014 20:58

Oh my god kat thats appalling! stunned and shocked for you!
good luck hon, hope you can keep in touch with some on here through pm's or if you are on the fb group x x

Boomgoestheweasel · 27/01/2014 21:39

kat what an obnoxious thing for someone to do. Very sad that they've stooped so low and used info they've found on here to score cheap points. I hope you can rise above it. Please stay in touch via pm or fb, we don't want to lose a lovely berry because of some stalker idiot! Xxx

BlindKitty · 27/01/2014 21:46

OMG kat what a total bitch! At least she can't access fb!

bunny ah but you obviously didn't realise I'd pulled the rope in so looks like you're stuck here. You calculate your due date from the first day of your last period I think. There's loads of online calculators that will do it for you but the mw is bound to say something different anyway

So guys I've just bought one of those bump to baby photo shoots! Trying to work out if I'm brave enough for a near nude black and white shot from the side....

Boomgoestheweasel · 27/01/2014 22:19

Ooh kitty go nude! I want to get one but scared...

bunny the date they usually go on is your 12 week scan date. All mine have been up to a week different, good advice earlier to aim for a due month rather than day. Besides, if it's twins they'll probably be early...Grin

TMI moment... One of my boobs is leaking! Eeeep! Seeing a slight ray of hope re: breastfeeding despite my poor mangled boobies. Going to have to buy breast pads a bit earlier than expected then Hmm

Tallyra · 28/01/2014 07:23

Kat???!!!!! Noooo!!!! That's so wrong!!!!!

Bunnygirlie · 28/01/2014 08:32

kat that is horrendous!

kitty let me out let me out!!!

Ooooooh naked bump shots! I saw one once where the mum had a large bow round her bump with a tag that said do not open till May 5th which I thought was quite cool.

boom I've told you before, don't mention the t word

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/01/2014 09:19

Er I managed to split the arse of my pj bottoms this morning bending down to grab the cat. Clearly I have put some weight on recently Grin

Good news on the boob front Boom

Kat I am disgusted on your behalf. And v shocked. Hope you're ok x

Thunderpantsarego · 28/01/2014 09:57

bunny I thought the point was you wanted to get IN the copter???

kat absolutely shocking. What a nasty thing to do, am totally appalled for you.

Brodicea · 28/01/2014 11:51

Horrified by the violation of kat's privacy - obvs we are on a public forum and there are some risks, but the idea of someone finding out your username and trawling through posts for 'evidence' is really off. I wonder if it's really legal, if she found out the username from someone else (a colleague / friend?) or through some kind of subterfuge - really angry for you! I can't believe she could really use anything you said here against you officially as it seems extremely high handed at best and an invasion of anonymity and worst.

Some comic relief there from merk!

BlindKitty · 28/01/2014 16:43

Oh boom pleeeease do it!!! That's fab news about leakage!!! (what a weird thing for me to say and I'm sure I'll freak if it happens to me before she's born!)

merk ha that happened to me a few weeks ago! You clearly didn't take foody's advice about wearing them back to front!

bunny you spent loads of time in here before you were diffed anyway!

kat could she have used your phone or pc when you weren't looking?

Bunnygirlie · 28/01/2014 18:30

Lol merk made me Grin after a tough day

I know thunder I just don't feel I belong here yet Confused
