Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, pregnant with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

And CLENCH!!!

Bunnygirlie · 28/01/2014 20:04

Is this clenching an in joke?!?

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/01/2014 20:07

No Bunny, its a reminder to do your kegels 3 times a day. Scroll up on the thread a bit and you will see I've posted (a big post) on how to do them (stolen from another post elsewhere). There will be plenty of people telling you why you should start doing them now so read the instructions and join in...

PuppyMummy · 28/01/2014 20:34

bunny start doing it now before the little bits of wee get you!

Foodylicious · 28/01/2014 21:07

hey - 20 week scan yesterday, all is good, we are still in team surprise!
OH does not want to know so I have found out and am keeping it secret! Grin it does care him how good I am at keeping secrets.

To make things simple we are just telling everyone that we have decided not to find out (but I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) hee hee.

Went for a swim after work for the first time since I can't remember when, took it steady, pretty much just one length at a time with little rests in between. back a bit sore to start with but warmed up ok. did 18 lengths all together over about 40 minutes so really not too strenuous!
Was odd tummy being so soft under water then big and hard again once we got out!
Seems to have grown a couple of inches overnight anyway Smile

Have finally mended some trousers and then realised they are a size 10! no chance of getting in them so not even bothered to try.
Waiting for my latest ebay bargains to turn up, 3 pairs of trousers, 2 pairs of jeans and a top all from next maternity range for £30! winner!
I might have shared this joy akready, have now banned myself from anymore ebay as its quite addictive Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/01/2014 21:48

Congrats foody. I would NOT be able to keep that a secret, if I didn't let it slip by accident I would probably burst from not telling anyone!

Bunnygirlie · 28/01/2014 21:51

foody glad your scan went well

Just been reading back over the thread and a little freaked out by growing boobs,Flood like cm, bollock shots, twitching your twinkle etc Shock

I have made the first step to admitting this might be real, bought decaf tea!

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/01/2014 22:21

Bunny what did the clinic say? Have you also arranged registration with your midwives? (Either self referral or via your GP). Have you got yourself some multivitamins? I took pregnancare (felt better having a full complement of vitamins going in when the MS struck and I was living on crisps). However some people just took plain folic acid. You'll want to start on that ASAP as its most important the first 12 weeks I think. I would stock up on panty liners while you're there... You'll soon need them Grin

BlindKitty · 28/01/2014 22:31

bunny you forgot burger toning... and you thought berry hq was bad...

Bunnygirlie · 28/01/2014 22:37

Merk scan booked for 10th feb, can they even see anything at 4 weeks past ET?!?

Have been on folic since new year like a good girl.

kitty ewwwwwwwwww

BlindKitty · 29/01/2014 06:26

CatsCantFlyFast · 29/01/2014 08:36

Bunny that will be around 6 weeks so you might be able to see a heartbeat (I did at my early scan). You know you still need to register with your midwives locally don't you? Also they will advise vit D and potentially iron too, hence a multivit being good. Are you on a pregnancy dose of folic acid?

BlearyeyedLol · 29/01/2014 08:59

You may have a date with mr dildocam at 6 weeks bunnyGrin

I had a scan at 6-2 and could see a flickering baked bean. You will love it!!!

Boomgoestheweasel · 29/01/2014 11:30

bunny you can hold off registering with your midwife until after the scan I would think, they normally send a referral to your GP to get the ball rolling (I believe) once they've confirmed your baby bunny(ies) is/are firmly in place. Are you actually in the copter yet or just hanging on by your fingernails to the open door, Arnie-style?

Good news today, had our 28wk growth scan - both Babybooms are bang on 50th centile, weigh 3lb3oz each (ish) and baby 1 has gone head down so as long as it doesn't flip I'm on track for a normal delivery Grin Grin Plus my GTT was normal. Yay me!

foody I would POP if I tried to keep something like that a secret! I would last all of about three seconds. I'm guessing blue! We were on willy watch again today but nothing obvious, I'm starting to suspect that Merk was right with her girl/girl prediction...

Those swimmers amongst you, do you have a maternity cossie or are you just going with a bikini? Or what? I haven't got anything at the moment other than a string bikini which I suspect will not contain the boobs/bum any more..

Brodicea · 29/01/2014 12:03

Nice one boom!

I haven't been swimming - I am a crappy swimmer at the best of times, but was considering going to aquaerobics (they have one near me which allows pregnant ladies) and was thinking of getting a pregnancy tankini. My arse and boobs have grown way to much to wear any of my old (teeny tiny) bikinis - when I unpacked I was in awe of my tiny non-pregnant bras - sigh. Never thought I'd miss having 32As!

CatsCantFlyFast · 29/01/2014 13:54

Boom, great news. It has just dawned on me that you have to come up with two girls names and two boys names... that would be the end of us!
I was idly wondering last night if I would be able to fit in pre pregnancy bikini bottoms... not sure anywhere nearby does maternity swimwear.

My Moses basket arrived today so miniMerk now has somewhere to sleep at least.

MotherOfCleo · 29/01/2014 14:01

sorry to post but I thought I may have ideas re swimwear. I went on holiday to tunisia when I was around 23/24 weeks I think. I bought normal bikinis just with a much bigger boob size. The swimsuit I bought when I was around 30 weeks was also a non maternity one, its got runching/gathering at the front so it could stretch over the bump but also fit me afterwards Grin Just my ten cents for what its worth

CatsCantFlyFast · 29/01/2014 14:39

Thanks Mother. Am so jealous of all the swimming that's been going on I am now desperate to go floating swimming myself

PoppySeedBun · 29/01/2014 15:03

I ordered this maternity costume a couple of weeks ago:
www.figleaves.com/uk/product/EJ-932

Has ruching down the side, so should fit OK afterwards as well I think. Not a big fan of bikinis at the best of times, and although my one piece fitted OK until about 20 weeks, I wanted to make sure I could keep going as I got huge as well Smile

boom good work! My GTT is tomorrow morning, so hoping for that all to be normal too.

foody congrats on your good scan too. I'm with you on the swimming - so nice just to feel the sensation even if the actual amount of exercise is quite small Blush

Tallyra · 29/01/2014 15:46

I was thinking about getting a cossie too. Saw a nice tankini in sainsburys but wasn't sure.

With regards to the high cm, I have just started to notice mine is too, it wasn't much different til this week. Not sure if it's related to the fact that I feel like I've been kicked in the fanjo today. Maybe I have!

Boomgoestheweasel · 29/01/2014 16:22

Uff Merk don't talk to me about names! Pregnant SIL came round the other night and we were having a conversation about whether she'd picked a name..she went 'oh well I really like XXX' which is one of my two boys' names! GAaaaaah. Now I either have to look selfish and tell her I've already bagsied it, or say nothing and risk her being upset if we do decide to use it. I feel I've lost it now and am going to have to think of a new one! Angry

Thanks for all the swimming costume ideas folks. I might pop into primark and see if I can get something cheap if the consensus is that a specific maternity costume isn't necessary..I think a tankini might be the way forward, because my top half is definitely going to need a bigger size than my bottom half!

merk I'm on 400 squiggles according to the folic acid bottle, is that right?

lol another dildocam, woohoo!

merk boom I think if all goes well next monday FC will discharge me back to the GP.

boom great news that the twins are doing well! What's a GTT?

I am def hanging from the rope ladder from the copter at the mo!

BlearyeyedLol · 29/01/2014 18:35

Yeah 400 thingys is enough folic acid. But like merk said you may want to take a pg vitamin instead. I never liked pregnacare and took centrum pregnancy throughout. If you are on a budget the asda and sainsburys ones are good too x

CatsCantFlyFast · 29/01/2014 19:53

Does a baby need a bib if it's breastfeeding?

Tallyra · 29/01/2014 19:57

Merk, I'm pretty sure a bib isn't needed then.
