Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, pregnant with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Oo I see, we'll let us know how it goes kitty. But why would you get into big trouble?

Boomgoestheweasel · 02/02/2014 01:17

Because posting nekked pics of oneself on a public forum is unprofessional and a big NHS no-no! I'd happily email them though if anyone wants a squizz, assuming they turn out ok. Not intending to go full frontal after all!

thunder what boom said! I'd email them too, assuming they're not going to get sent to the Sunday sport haha! I'm not aiming to show any bits either. I'd just like something to look back on when I'm old and decrepit and that depicts this point in time. I can pretend I really looked like that as well haha

Surely a private group doesn't count? And these are dead tasteful arty shots and not just naked pics....? But yeah I can see why you might want to avoid the risk!

BlindKitty · 02/02/2014 08:20

Well I hardly know the grads and I'm sure the other berries won't want to see if so unless we created a whole new group 'naked berries and their bumps' we don't have a forum!

Hey win So that makes me 5 weeks tomorrow and I'll be 6 weeks when I get my first scan next Monday. I had ivf so I know exactly when things happened lol!

boom kitty good luck with naked bump shots, lol at new group naked berries and their bumps

I am constantly on knicker watch and terrified something will go wrong. This week is going to drag!!!

How is everyone doing?

Guys, random question but does anyone else's baby kick in threes? Dh has just said he hopes she doesn't have OCD haha!!

Report
Foodylicious · 02/02/2014 10:30

kitty I thought mine did for a while, more of a punch, punch, kick I think!
Seems a bit more random now, can feel it having shuffles and turning over a bit more than separate kicks yesterday and today. Think it was using my left side as a trampoline when I was in bed this morning Grin.
I have got into the habit of turning over a few times in the morning to wake baby up then stay there for a few minutes waiting for the fidgeting to start Smile was nearly late to work a few times this week!

bunny one day and one week at a time is the only way you can take it. Time does feel as though its going sooooo slooowely, I never thought I would get this far, but here I am, half baked at 20 weeks (well 21 weeks todayGrin). I have done some pretty extreme mentalling, disappeared right up my own a* for a bit but managed to find my way out again Smile. I spent weeks and weeks knicker and knocker checking, had all sorts of funny pains and aches, a couple of early reassurance scans, oh and weeks of feeling and being sick (still on the pills now).
If you can try to take time for yourself and keep busy, here's hoping the week flies by!!!!!!!!!!!

foody since saying that this morning she has done nothing but somersaults all day! No OCD after all!

bunny afraid I'm still knicker checking! Love my new knockers though, shame they probably won't stay!

Out with my friend today (who had the mmc). Really hoping my bump doesn't upset her or I say something stupid

foody wow 20 weeks already, that's insane!

No knocker checking yet, my smarties on an ironing board could hardly be called knockers anyway lol.

kitty hope your friend is doing ok x

Opinions needed. Looks like we are going to have to compromise on a name as OH will not accept Edie . What does everyone think of Tilly? (Not Matilda just Tilly)

Report
Foodylicious · 02/02/2014 20:22

Oooh, we have not even started to discuss names yet! think I am putting it off so we don't argue.
I like Tilly though!, Edie is also cool though Sad

bunny yeh she's doing ok. She's fallen out with her best friend though as she's hardly bothered with her since the mc. It's because she doesn't know what to say but when my friend brought it up she said she'd been distracted! Stupid thing is I know she's lying!!

foody me too but mine comes and goes. Got it from yoga today!!

merk if you want an honest opinion I have to say Tilly is the name of my parents cat so will forever be a cats name in my head.
Edie is cool though, sorry DH doesn't like it.

Right, if you can all remember back that far, did you have baths during your first 12 weeks? Did you exercise? I am worried that after dieting for Christmas party I am now gonna get chubby as I start to eat more.

What I really want is a medium cooked steak, poached egg with something followedd by a hot bubble bath and a glass of wine!

Report
BlindKitty · 02/02/2014 22:25

I personally didn't have baths as I was worried I'd cook the baby or something but its meant to be fine as long as its not too hot.

I stupidly didn't exercise, again worried the baby would fall out or something and now I'm regretting it. 5 mins on a treadmill today (walk/incline) and I was out of breath! I was quite fit pre pregnancy!

I adhered to all the 'rules' re diet at first but I've relaxed them to an extent now

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/02/2014 22:36

I have never given up on my hot baths. Seems to be a UK specific thing as other parts of Europe (eg Sweden I think) are fine with saunas etc!
Diet wise I have eaten runny poached eggs since the beginning. Provided they are lion stamped they are from hens vaccinated against salmonella so they are fine. I think the only thing I haven't had is pâté, I really haven't worried too much about it as I have a steel stomach!
Exercise wise you are fine with anything you normally do, just don't start anything new. I however did nothing, I was a bit worried during the first 12 weeks that I would blame myself if anything did go wrong after exercising.

Report
Tallyra · 02/02/2014 23:41

I bathed as normal and didn't worry too much about food til I got too sick then I ate anything I could stomach. I also did nothing after 6 weeks due to the sickness and am now out of breath walking the dog up a small hill.

Bunny, I'm too scared to exercise too! I've kept up walking about 45mins a day, but stopped the gym. I understand it's fine to keep doing exercise you were doing pre pregnancy, but had only been running and doing classes etc intermittently and wasn't sure it counted. If I get to 12 weeks I plan to gradually reintroduce exercise then.

I was a bit sick in my mouth after dinner last night, and dry heaved a couple of times. Definitely counting them as symptoms! Also (tmi!) I've heard you ladies talk about an increase in cm. when did this start? I seem to have had an increase in the last week or two. Can I count this as a symptom???

Report
PoppySeedBun · 03/02/2014 08:24

I didn't do much exercise I the first 12 weeks, but mostly because of sickness. Swimming is good, and I found that when I did go for a walk it helped a lot.
Also worth saying that the breathlessness is not just about being unfit - it also comes on anyway because your blood volume goes up so rapidly. I felt really breathless early on and it almost got better as I got bigger!
Oh, and wino - increased cm can definitely count as a symptom! For me, it did go up early on, but then increased even more from somewhere mid 2nd trimester.

I've had a new one for the last week, have been waking up with swollen hands. Today and yesterday it was painful to bend my fingers when I woke, although it gradually wears off during the day. Skin feels so tight though
