Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, pregnant with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Breathing is crap today so am not doing anything really. Trying to rearrange our NCT as we missed our original course due to moving house. Of course there is a £25 admin charge to change

Clench everyone

Foodylicious · 17/01/2014 16:18

Discovered something that made me smile this week - I put on some pyjama bottoms I had previously noticed were getting a bit tight and oddly they felt fine, really comfy. I was a bit Confused but thought maybe I was just really bloated last time I wore them.
Anyway later on when I went for a wee I realised they were on back to front! So that was why they were fitting, the baggy bum of pjs was sitting nicely over the bump Grin
Will remember this for other pairs I think!

Hope you feeling a bit better tally and merk

I am contemplating a post on the baby names board... I am anticipating a flaming Grin

Tallyra · 17/01/2014 21:50

How flamey? Can we help?

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/01/2014 21:54

I just think the entire baby names board is flamey!
We are struggling because we are poles apart and can't agree. And I don't like the idea of choosing a name neither of us really love jut to compromise.
Everything he likes is too popular for me, and everything I like is too grannyish for him! I'm not sure how we solve it

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/01/2014 21:55

Booking on a Saturday Charming? Your midwives are good! How exciting, it feels much more real once you're in the system and have notes!

Thunderpantsarego · 18/01/2014 08:14

Morning all. merk just popped onto your name thread- seems like you just got lots of nice suggestions there and nothing too nasty- result! Did you get anything useful? I've got a new girls one I like now and not going to get to use it

charming, booking in... Woot! All gets a bit official then! How are you feeling?

kat have you tried the clenches while you're on the loo - it's when you stop the pee flow, so that's how it should feel.

winohhh · 18/01/2014 08:35

Morning all, just me again! Hoping to ask another question if that's ok. I've just realised my face cream has retinyl palmitate in it, some form of or derivative of vit a. Should I be worried about this? Just wondered if you guys stopped using certain creams etc? I'm assuming if there wa clear evidence it was bad they would have to write it on the bottle? Am I being naive??

Thanks ladies! You'll be pleased to hear that my shoulder pain has not returned and my worry about an ectopic pregnancy has receded to normal levels!

Happy Saturday everyone!

BlindKitty · 18/01/2014 08:48

foody can you believe I actually bust the bum in a pair if my pj bottoms sitting down! I think it was more the angle I was sitting in but Dh obviously found it hilarious!

wino the thought has never occurred to me! Do try not to worry though, you can worry yourself senseless otherwise!

So having my first pregnancy massage this morning! Also going to be naughty and (nip) into the sauna and jacuzzi for a couple of minutes if they're not too hot. Going through my swimwear was a task! Lets just say I'm putting Jordan to shame today haha!!!

winohhh · 18/01/2014 10:47

Thanks kitty, you're right. I just saw that it's in bio-oil, so it can't be that bad! My husband gave me a bit of a talking too this morning for being a bit out of control! I need to chill out!

Boomgoestheweasel · 18/01/2014 11:54

Hello all, fell off the thread again - I'm crap, I blame the long shifts as I no longer seem to have any sense of time or date...

Wino don't think I said congratulations, so congratulations!

I do actually know how to do my PF exercises, I just forget, so the clench reminders are doing my future 60-year-old self a favour, thanks all Grin

Kitty may I just say you looked stunning last night, I'm very jealous of your pregnancy chic! Hope you enjoyed the cheesy show Grin

Merk what are the names? G'wan g'wan g'wan, tell us! How's the breathing today?

Foody genius idea with the PJs...I'm currently sleeping nekked as have nothing left that fits...

Nothing exciting going on here. I'm very fat and tired and counting down the days until mat leave (7 weeks, groan...) Someone come and cheer me up, I have nothing to look forward to but a day of housework and walking dogs in the rain...

Just adding my name back on the list after it being chopped off by boom.

I have 7 weeks left of work too- we can count down together?

I understand that pf exercises might be doing your 2014 self a favour as much as 60 years! I have a few friends who are giving me a stern talking to about it after now being unable to go running or sneeze without leakage

BlindKitty · 18/01/2014 16:41

boom sadly I think thunder is right with doing the 2014 self a favour as am already a tiny bit incontinent since getting knocked up! Thanks for the compliment although its hard to feel pregnancy chic when a bit more wee is coming out after I've stood up lol

Dying to know merk's names now. We did have a 'tell all' thing on the names a while back but I can't remember now!

wino we all get overly worried in here, probably due to how long it's taken us to conceive and how precious our pregnancies are. In your case though I think it's your dumb ass gp's fault for making you worry!

So pregnancy massage was lurvley! As was the swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi.

Oh and someone offered their seat on the tube for me! Was too embarrassed to take it though! Sure the regular Londoners would take it in a shot!

Tallyra · 18/01/2014 17:01

We'll I had my one and only antenatal class today. Lots of info all at once, and now I'm feeling nauseous and knackered. I do however want to find out if I can have a water birth at home. I've had enough of hospitals to last a lifetime.
I did manage to leave my Wellies at the children's centre after being late because of walking the dog first, so I'm desperately hoping they will keep them safe for me as I need them pretty badly at the moment!

Tallyra · 18/01/2014 17:02

It's all getting scarily real. Especially as I realised yesterday that baby is due in exactly 3 months and I've only got 2 months left before I stop work. Aaaaaaaaargh!Blush

PuppyMummy · 18/01/2014 17:28

Hi all! Could someone pls add me to the list...

Puppymummy due 31st May - still to find out the official team!

Hey all just popping in while I have five minutes - I know what you mean about scarily real, we've booked our NCT classes for March! I also looked at books about breastfeeding today - a lot of them have very off-putting titles about 'womanly' and 'food of love' crap…

kitty that massage sounds great, I would love one.

CLENCH

BlindKitty · 18/01/2014 21:09

tally how come you only get one class? I paid for my nct ones the other day

I have 2 friends who have had excellent home births. Both have lots of space and neighbours that won't hear them though! Guess you'd be guaranteed your birthing pool if you rented one but don't the mws usually advise against for the first?
