Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, pregnant with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Oh god I think Dh just needed to wang me! I've just had a teary outburst because Dh moaned I didn't like American football. I was literally crying and wondering 'wtf am I saying' at the same time! Arrrgh!

Foodylicious · 11/01/2014 08:38

Yay for 20 weeks puppy :-)

Been for 2nd cervical length scan this week and its the same as last time, phew. Ideally they like 4cm or more but said we are ok at 3.1cm, guideline for having a stich is 2.5 or less so still worrying but its a good thing its not changed so far.
So another scan in 4 weeks and 20 week scan in a couple of weeks.

Oh had a quick normal scan at the same time and beano was upside down, on its head doing a bit of break dancing we think :-)

These hormones are a bloody nightmare aren't they? Does seem like I NEED to have a good cry (read get hysterical) every few days to stay vaguely balanced the rest of the time.
Should have started yoga this week but wad too tired to go annd the aqua natal class that was meant to start next week has been cancelled too, bit grr about that

thunder I am totally with you there, really can't seeyself buying anything or doing and room prep until it happens or at least for a very long time. People keep asking about what we are going to do with nursery etc or what stuff we are getting, just try to brush them off saying " oh we have loads of time for that"
One of the girls I work with is off sick and think she has started knitting already, quick is lovely but makes me nervous.
Anyway the sickness is def creeping back in, so might re start the promethazine tonight.

Have a good weekend!!!

BlindKitty · 11/01/2014 10:45

foody I've got to have 2 cervical length scans in the next 4 weeks all because I can't prove I haven't had a loop excision!!! Great use if nhs resources! At least I get to see her a couple more times though.

PuppyMummy · 11/01/2014 15:26

I do hysteria quite well at mo to! feel quite sorry for my poor oh sometimes!

Just been measured in debenhams for a new bra. was a 30C now a 34D! she said that cup size will give me some growing room too as its on the bigger side!!

BlindKitty · 11/01/2014 16:36

puppy we ARE carrying their babies..they just have to lump it Wink

So I've been a bit naughty and taken most of my birthday presents back and managed to get £80 for the lot. Bought a jungle gym and a shed load of nappies! Know I must sound ungrateful but i need stuff for the baby atm rather than pamper sets and perfume! Might not mention it to my mates though haha

Tallyra · 11/01/2014 17:36

Great idea kitty, if you can get yourself a bit more baby money, why not?
I was going to save my £50 Christmas money for baby stuff but just been informed by mil that it's for me and any baby stuff it might have gone on will not be a problem for her to help with when the time comes Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/01/2014 20:45

The house move from hell has happened! We are in the new house, with takeaway pizza & ice cream, fire lit and tv on. Bed needs putting up and everything is in boxes but it can only be easier from now on!

Foodylicious · 11/01/2014 20:46

Getting increasingly annoyed at how many shops have stopped doing mat clothes online, GAP no longer do Sad

managed to get a couple of tops and a dress in h&M, but the range was really small and the leggings and trousers were just wrong!

Any suggestions of actual shops where I can try stuff on?

Tallyra · 11/01/2014 20:52

Yay Merk!!!!!!!! And I thought clearing out the spare room was hard work!

The only place in my town with maternity clothes seems to be New Look.....

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/01/2014 21:10

Mothercare, h&m and new look. Occasional department stores. Otherwise I have struggled with mat wear and found Asos to be the best in terms of range. I also found a French company (online only) with good medium priced basics... Will dig out the name if it helps anyone. I found h&m jeans the best, Asos ones don't fit me at all!
Would it be terrible to sleep on the sofa tonight? Sooooo tired

PuppyMummy · 11/01/2014 21:24

yay for moving merk when we moved a few years ago we slept on our mattress in the lounge for a few days while we got sorted! better than sofa!

re: maternity clothes. I can only find them in debenhams, as in, in the actual shop. I hav 2 dresses and jeggins from there. the rest I hav got online. I second asos - excellent customer service and simple free returns too. - also I have a few bits on order from new look...

BlindKitty · 11/01/2014 22:01

Bought a dress today actually Here hoping it fits as haven't tried it yet!

BlindKitty · 11/01/2014 22:43

Ignore last post, it looks bloody awful on and is going back! It's so tight round my boobs considering its a maternity dress!

PoppySeedBun · 12/01/2014 10:36

Hello, ladies - I'm de lurking after a very quiet period over Christmas. Have been busy and work and before that, just having a lovely quiet disconnected Xmas. And now it's taken me most of the morning to catch up on the thread!!
So here's a summary:

  • 25 weeks, being regularly booted by little poppyseed Smile
  • bra size up to 34D/36C from 36A
  • also getting cm high up - merk, you are not alone Grin
  • after good 20 wk scan and lots of movement, plus a realisation that the next few weeks were likely to get busy for us both at work, we bought pushchair and car seat over Xmas. Now contemplating cot, but leaving clothes, etc until much closer
  • welcome, charming and congrats to all those with good scans recently.
  • wardrobe down to bare essentials - a couple of pre-pg jersey dresses, two pairs next maternity jeans and yoga pants and super-long vests from sweaty betty. Never found anywhere to try things in-store (and I'm in London) so did it all online.
  • think I might be starting to get Braxton Hicks? I get times when the whole bump goes rigid and sore. Also starting to get the return of indigestion - better order some more bumper packs of Rennie Sad

merk congrats on the move - I can't imagine doing something so tiring at this stage!

CatsCantFlyFast · 12/01/2014 15:58

Hey poppy, nice to hear from you.
Am jealous of your Braxton Hicks, I've had none and am worried my body doesn't realise its supposed to be practising Grin
Still cleaning/unpacking/tidying here... As you can imagine there's still a lot of boxes. However have emptied kitchen boxes (although some cupboards are chaotic and I have just close the doors on it for now) so one room is bearable at least. Planning to paint tomorrow as everything is so grubby (and a bit smelly).
Boo for the badly fitting dress Kitty... I've had quite a lot I had to send back early on, but since then have only been buying jersey/stretchy fabrics (how lovely) so everything is passable

Angelina77 · 12/01/2014 18:41

Hi all, been away for a while (long enough for the thread to slip off my list!) but just checking back to let you know my gender scan results.

Well, merk & boom you were right, it's a boy. We're over the moon :)

Brodicea · 12/01/2014 20:37

A boy! Is that the first one in this iteration of the copter? Congrats angel

On the subject of maternity clothes, I got some nice things from Mamas and Papas online, and my new city also has an actual store.

merk I feel your moving pain - been here a week now and things are still a bit topsy turvy!

BlindKitty · 12/01/2014 21:29

Poor merk! Do not envy you atm. Think you need to start delegating some responsibility!

poppy nice to hear from you! I had no idea you could get bh so early! I really should so more research and not wait for merk to do it

angel ah fab news! We don't have any blue ones in here yet!!!

Boomgoestheweasel · 12/01/2014 22:07

Just popping in as I realised I'd also fallen off the list!

merk yay to the move and the useable kitchen - rather you than me with the painting tomorrow and make sure you ventilate well nag nag nag

poppy hello old bean! Glad your poppyseed is booting away merrily. I was wondering today about Braxton hicks but dismissed it as wind (so glamorous)..

angel oooh, a boy! First official willy in the copter!!

thunder how are you? Hope you're having a few more episodes of positivity x

kitty bum to the stupid dress...I am embracing my badly-dressed side for the remainder of this pregnancy! Mat clothing sucks!

No real news here. Am the size of a house, although stretchmarks still miraculously at bay.. Bambinos kicking more although still not loads. Flying visit to London with Mr Boom tomorrow for dinner and a show Grin can't wait!

Angelina77 · 12/01/2014 22:11

Thanks :) Got some lovely bollock shots for the album.

BlindKitty · 13/01/2014 07:02

Berries - when are you likely to get stretch marks? I'm being meticulous with the bio oil but have been told I'll prob just get them anyway...what do you think?

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/01/2014 07:10

Kitty the ones on my boobs came up quite a few weeks ago. I think it can be any time, I seem to remember one of the grads getting them v v v late on, but other people get them early.

Congrats on the first boy for the copter!

Boomgoestheweasel · 13/01/2014 07:53

@ bollock shots Grin

kitty just depends on if and when your skin gives up the ghost! My friend made it all the way through to labour with nothing and then found a massive one afterwards..gutted...some people have them by 20wks, some never do. I'm quite proud of making it this far tbh!

Thunderpantsarego · 13/01/2014 09:15

Morning all, and happy Monday Hmm

Did you all have good weekends?

merk fantastic news on being in your new house! Well done for surviving the slog and hopefully now it's all about nesting and settling in. I've got it all to come (hopefully) and I'm not looking forward to it but can't wait to be in. brod good to hear you're settling in too.

poppy, foody and angel congrats on good scans and massive congrats for the first confirmed copter boy!

All ok here, very wiggly baby which I LOVE. kat I am like you taking time out to hang out with the baby now- much easier when my belly looks like it's been taken over by aliens as it's so entertaining. First hiccups felt last night Smile. No Braxton hicks tho, but I'm not worried about that.

Do we need to start making some more space in this ere copter then? Wink

Brodicea · 13/01/2014 10:39

The copter must be pretty full of biggish bumps by now I guess!

I had a weekend which involved DH's first ever trip to… Ikea. It ended in a very stroppy and stressed out DH. However he was pretty well behaved with the assemblage which is usually his bane, I think he's gone into 'capable and protective' dad mode. Further evidence: watching Charlie Brooker talking about the Blurred Lines video made him start worrying already about our girl growing up in such a sexualised world! Dear oh dear.

My hips are still pretty stiff and I'm getting thoroughly fed up with not being as mobile and energetic as usual (which is saying something).

Har Re: bollock shots. When my friend had her scan, and they found it was a girl, the sonographer referred to her girl-bits as 'the front burger'
