mrsG lovely to see you here! Hand holding always available....

scater · 09/01/2014 07:45

Welcome giraffe, you will get great support here.

Well it seems that the sickness yesterday wasn't just nerves, ms is backConfused.

Can't complain really.

So sorry about the fall, good that you got monitored, enjoy the rest of your stay in the lakes.

Hope everyone has a good day.

MrsGiraffe12 · 09/01/2014 09:46

Thanks all for the lovely welcome :-) feeling quite positive about the pregnancy today which is good. Hoping to hear from midwife today so finger crossed x

Cybercat · 09/01/2014 12:48

Hello, can I squeeze my way in at the back of this thread please? Had BFP yesterday so Im very early days but I had MC in Oct (6weeks) and I think.a chemical pregnancy in December. Im finding it really hard to let myself think it could be ok this time.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 09/01/2014 12:50

Welcome Cybercat. Have a look at our stats list upthread. Lots of babies born recently. It CAN happen. Smile

BobaFetaCheese · 09/01/2014 13:25

Welcome Cyber & Giraffe.

cyber, I spent the last pg constantly monitoring myself looking for signs of mc...every milestone you think 'oooh, 12wks, now what can go wrong before the 20wk scan?'. It sucks but hope you have an uneventful 9 months

ChristineDaae · 09/01/2014 14:45

Welcome newbies! We're all crazy symptom spotters here, but as you can see by the stats list we DO get lucky. Just take it 1 day at a time.

I'm officially DONE being pregnant! I want my rather large child out now. Google days that oregano and basil are good for inducing contractions, just made a 'tea' with some, actually wasn't too bad. I tried eating a pineapple last night, managed about a third and my poor tongue was killing, how you're meant to eat loads is beyond me!

bakingtins · 09/01/2014 14:53

fod the latest series of OBEM has just been filmed at Southmead in Bristol, but not sure when it will be on the gogglebox.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 09/01/2014 15:01

Well I finally got my Glucose tolerance test today. It's 3 weeks late and the 4th appointment ive made! Confused
It wasn't too bad. The drink was pretty yucky but I got it down. It's really thick and goopy a bit like lactose, but tastes like lemon juice. A very odd combination!
anyway I waited the 2 hours and was really surprised that after no breakfast and that much sugar I felt fine! hopefully a good sign!
not quite so good was that they sent a wee sample away. It was + for protein and let ones. Sad
so it's another wait for results now. Life is one long wait! Confused Grin
Good news is that I'm now not working tomorrow. My boss rang and I sounded so bad he said NO NO NO!
He should see how bad I look! Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 09/01/2014 15:02

ketones. not let ones!

Welcome to giraffe and cyber fingers crossed all is straightforward for you both.

saggy hope your results are ok & not too long to wait.

kat really sorry to hear about your work situation. What a pain. Hope your growth scan is ok. It is quite nice to have the chance to see baby again later on.

christine hope not too long to go. I've heard you have to eat 7 pineapples but it's something in the core that helps get labour going. If you have a blender you could whizz it all up & drink it (slowly over the course of the day) - might get things going...

scater great news on your scan

fod really sorry to hear about your brother. I have family issues with my brother but nothing like your situation. Your poor mum too.

I don't think I've been on since baby pumpkin or little elf arrived so big congratulations. Lovely to see the list moving up & to not be right at the very bottom now.

Saw my midwife today for 16 wk check & this time heard a heartbeat which was lovely & made it all feel a bit more real. Have told work now & a few more people. Roll on 20 wk scan now. Hope everyone else doing OK.

Cybercat · 09/01/2014 17:45

Thank you for making me feel welcome. Having a wobbly tonight because a friend had posted on Facebook today that she is having a girl. We would have been due within weeks of each other and even though Im pregnant again it's still brought out the worst in me.

Will stop being so silly and try to get up to speed here instead!

banana87 · 09/01/2014 18:55

Hi all.

I'm getting nervous posting in pregnancy Confused I just really don't want to jinx things!

I'm 5 weeks tomorrow. No sign of nausea yet (thank god). But am in bed early most nights and my sense of smell is definitely heightened!

Hope you are all well (will catch up now!)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 09/01/2014 19:31

Cyber have a hug.
I felt the same when I came to this thread. A couple of people who were at the top of the list had originally been on the Antenatal thread I joined before I MC. Much as I love them for the support they showed here to me, I couldnt help feeling envious. But time has helped. Over that time, others who MC from the same Antenatal thread have joined here and MC again. So I am now in that position of being at the top of the list.
It's hard but it's all swings and roundabouts. When I got envious of friends I told myself I should be grateful that they hadn't been through what I'd been through because it's shit and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Sad
Anyway. preach over. You are here now. We will listen and sympathise and you will be ok. Smile {{{hug}}} There are times that the stats list moves really fast. Its very reassuring. x

Cybercat · 09/01/2014 20:00

Thank you. A good nights sleep is all I need (I hope!). Its so nice to know we can post here for reassurance.

Mabelandrose · 09/01/2014 20:23

I'm in the same boat as all you other new ladies. I'm so anxious which I know doesn't help. It's nice to see the success stories. Next stop 12 week scan. I don't know how I'm going to get through that...

TeaAndANatter · 09/01/2014 21:03

Just booked my water pool for a planned home birth - getting a little bit exciting!

If I end up strapped to a bed on my back in some medical ward after planning this, I'll bite someone

Purple37 · 09/01/2014 21:05

Having a nightmare, am 4 weeks 2 days, Just been to the loo and am spotting, reddy pink mucousy but only a bit. Devastated and don't know what to do..

banana87 · 09/01/2014 21:11

purple try and relax she says knowing its impossible and try not to think the worst! Its quite likely implantation spotting, very common!

Purple37 · 09/01/2014 21:14

I am just full of dread, I don't know how I will cope if it goes wrong again.

Jemma2907 · 09/01/2014 21:14

Hello, can I join please?

Been trying for two and 1/2 years. Had an early mc in Sept last year and am now currently 5w 6 d. I was so nervous that I paid for an early scan (which I had yesterday). Have seen my little ones HB now, even got a DVD of it in case everything goes wrong. I was devastated when it happened before and now I've seen the little 'un inside me I seem to have just made myself even more worried.

Hope you're okay Purple x

TotalShock · 09/01/2014 21:23

Purple try not to panic. A lot of ladies on here have had spotting at various points thoughout pregnancy and been fine. I know it's so much easier to say than to do but everyone is here for you

Jemma try not to worry yourself. Again easier said than done I know but your in good company here

Kat glad your appointment went well but sorry to here of all the extra stress your going through with work

Fod hope your work starts to buck there ideas up soon and it isn't all getting to you to much

Scater brilliant scan news

Christine my goodness my eyes are watering. My husband was apparently 10lb 2 and he's over 6 foot. I on the other hand am 5 foot and this corncerns me!!

Welcome to all the newbies. It's very supportive in here. Big hugs to everyone

MeDoingMyThing · 09/01/2014 22:18

fod many years ago I had a boyfriend who pretended to be terminally ill. He sucked everyone in. My father was the one who worked it out in the end and confronted him. I am ashamed to say that I stayed with him for another year or so trying to make it work - I was young! I left him in the end and in hindsight think he was a sociopath. Even when found out he was only ever upset for himself, not for all the people he had lied to.

He's now married and apparently has a normal life - he's a teacher. I wonder if he was very stressed by events in his life at the time - a full on job, a much younger girlfriend, some financial issues. He didn't just lie about being ill, he lied about his parents jobs, being able to drive, his past girlfriends.

I don't have any answers about your brother but wanted you to know I do understand the emotions you go through when betrayed like this. Is there any way you could have family counselling together to at least work out how you move forwards?

Anyway - I hope you are managing not to let his behaviour cloud your pregnancy. x

kjh5 · 09/01/2014 22:38

Welcome newbies!

Purple don't worry - it is highly unlikely there is anything going wrong. Spotting is perfectly normal - we
Just tend to freak out about it because we've experienced the worst. If it makes you feel any better I had a bleed at 4+1, spotted a bit until 6 weeks and then had a heavy bleed at 7 and 9 weeks. But I'm still here at 26 weeks and everything so far is fine. Spotting is normal, cramping is also normal so are having lots of pregnancy symptoms and almost non at all! The midwife always told me the only time you need to worry in the early days is if you have heavy bleeding with cramping. Hope you are ok - the first few weeks are the hardest but you'll get through them!
