Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, 1st to early 2nd trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

it sounds a little worrying to me. can you call 111 or something?

OP posts:
CatsCantFlyFast · 02/11/2013 11:22

I suspect its fine (googling suggests breathlessness is normal in pregnancy, I just didn't expect it when I'm not moving around). Suspect 111 would send me to hospital/doctor/midwife and I really don't want anything on me that raises my risk level if I can help it as I'm so keen for a home birth or MLU. I know that's stupid!

Tallyra · 02/11/2013 11:23

or just phone your midwife if it doesn't go? I'm sure it's fine though.

I had the weirdest dream last night. I had about 7 kids between about 5 and 15, but I knew it was a dream and didn't know a single thing about the kids or my house. disturbing, seeing as we've pretty much decided this is our only one.

merk my sister had this in her last pg, woke up in the night really breathless - turned out she was quite anemic, did not need to go to hospital or anything but her MW/DR gave her extra iron tablets and it sorted her right out!
Give your surgery a ring and ask who is available for advice!

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/11/2013 12:05

Could I still have low iron if I'm taking pregnacare every day?

Foodylicious · 02/11/2013 12:19

yep!

Foodylicious · 02/11/2013 12:26

This has alot of iron rich food ideas so ger some steak and green veg, mmm

BlindKitty · 02/11/2013 16:07

merk anaemia was first thing thing I thought of too actually. Have you had your levels checked? In meantime, plenty of meat (especially red), leafy veg, fortified cereal, nuts, etc. avoid tea with meals (inc caffeine free) and drink vit c rich drinks which will aid absorption. Iron in food is generally absorbed better than vitamin tablets as meant to have better 'bioavailabily'

PoppySeedBun · 02/11/2013 18:07

Hello everyone,

Sorry - no help on breathlessness. I've been getting it loads, but only when I go up stairs (even a small number of stairs) or do anything vaguely strenuous.

On the shopping front, we haven't moved a muscle. My MIL is convinced we won't be even slightly prepared, but my mum didn't buy anything at all until about 3 wks before she was due with me, so she's entirely relaxed Grin
That swedish baby clothes site is very sweet though.

LOL at the Futon of Fatigue BTW - that's where I've been spending the day! Feel bad for DH. Even though I've been going to work most days, I've spent pretty much every weekend at home on the sofa the entire time. Not much fun for him (although he's getting to spend some quality time in his garage, which he does like).

Foodylicious · 02/11/2013 18:09

Quiet in here today, you just must all lead such interesting lives!
(compared to mine, currently living a la sofa)

8 wks today Hmm

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/11/2013 18:23

Make room for one more....

PuppyMummy · 02/11/2013 19:08

I'm glad I'm not hiding my pg. I look ridiculously different these last 2 weeks. bump growing. books growing, face bloody growing. I know. its because I keep eating but really, its such a difference anyone who hasn't seen me since before I got sick will figure it out straight away!

Tallyra · 02/11/2013 21:20

Just seen baby kicking/punching through my bump!!

Quodlibet · 03/11/2013 00:50

Merkin try Spatone sachets to boost iron levels. I think mine were dropping as i was also getting tired/breathless/faint on occasions. Might be coincidence but started taking Spatone and it had gone within a week and energy levels much better.

qazxc · 03/11/2013 08:22

merkin how exciting! I'm really looking forward to feeling baby move. Scan tomorrow and am on tenterhooks.
I am not even looking at baby stuff until 13 weeks, don't want to tempt fate. But SIL is due in december and DP has plenty of cousins who told him that they had plenty of stuff left over from their DC's that they are not going to use as they are not having any more, so hopefully i won't have to buy too much.
still nauseated and my boobs are growing to the size of watermelons!

ladybunnikins · 03/11/2013 08:49

Hello everyone, I see there are some non-berries here as well. I'm Lady, 34, TTC since Jan 2012. Just had my first cycle of IVF and it looks like it worked, although I won't officially know until Tuesday. Still doesn't seem real!

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/11/2013 08:57

Welcome in lady, great to have you and great that you arrive at the same time as somebody else so you have somebody of a similar stage to you.
There was such a dry patch of BFPs for so long after I joined the berries (only mother) for over 7 months that all of these are so nice!
Oh and not only can I see and feel baby kicking/punching my tummy this morn, we could also see her pushing the Doppler away and moving it! She's quite strong it seems. And she has swapped ends again, has been head on the right all week but is wad on the left again now!

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/11/2013 09:03

Wad?? Back

FeatherFeather11 · 03/11/2013 09:10

Hello everyone, I've been on the berries thread for a couple of months and just got a bfp yesterday. Bit about me: Feather, 34, ttc since sept 2011, finally got a bfp on round 6 of clomid, 150mg.

ladybunnikins · 03/11/2013 09:12

Yes, it will be good to have someone at a similar stage, you all seem so far along already! Pregnancy paranoia has already set in, DH made his usual super hot curry and as I was eating it I remembered the old wives' tale about curry inducing labour. I googled hot curry and miscarriage and couldn't find anything to link them but I just couldn't face eating it anymore!
