Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, 1st to early 2nd trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Think the Conjestion is normal as your body producing lots of mucus.

qazxc · 01/11/2013 15:25

Damn it had to have an intensely embarrassing conversation with the recruitment guy telling him i was pregnant and didn't feel i could give my all to the job. Don't think he quite understood as he said "so you're turning it down! Ok then, get well soon!" Confused Blush

Boomgoestheweasel · 01/11/2013 17:15

Evening folks. Budge up on the Futon of Fatigue, I need to crash somewhere - knackered!

tally excellent results! Wouldn't worry about high risk, they love high-risk-ing everyone these days Hmm. My 16wk is on Thursday, will be my last community mw appt Sad such a shame I'm going to miss out on seeing my profession at work from the other side!

qaz well done being offered the job, shame he didn't understand why you didn't want it!

foody I think the congestion has to do with pregnancy hormones affecting your blood vessels and like Merk says your mucus production. It's called rhinitis of pregnancy, annoying but normal!

Well I've had a successful day, found a moses basket for £8 in charity shop (BARGAIN), then went to hospital to have a grovel with my ward manager about being knocked up, get my rota sorted, order maternity uniform Grin and get ID badge printed. Now crashed on the sofa eating all the trick or treat sweeties. Also my brother and sister have offered to club together to buy me a double buggy for Christmas (lawyer and banker, so I don't feel too bad getting an extravagant pressie from them even though they'll probably get a Terry's Chocolate Orange from me ) so it would appear that I'm starting to accumulate actual baby stuff! Exciting scary !

CatsCantFlyFast · 01/11/2013 17:24

boom you've had an amazing day! I'm still in bed Hmm

thunder dunno if you have time to stop in and read but hope everything is going well and cake turned out fabulously too

qazxc · 01/11/2013 17:34

glad you had a good day boom. Wish i could munch on sweets but i feel pukey, which i'm strangely happy about although i'm guessing THAT won't last

Boomgoestheweasel · 01/11/2013 17:56

Ooooh I had no idea that time had come around so quickly! thunderpants hope all is going smoothly and wishing you a fanbloodytastic, er, party tomorrow Grin Thanks

BlindKitty · 01/11/2013 19:32

Omg is thunders 'party' tomorrow?! Have a fab day!!!

Nothing interesting to report here! Just looking forward to a bit of eastenders...has she killed her or not?!?!

Brodicea · 01/11/2013 19:35

Wow what a day boom - I second that congrats tally!

I had my flu jab today and my arm is all hurty (wimp!).

In other news, my hip (I had thought it was my bum cheek) reeeally hurts. Went to the Drs and they said I should go to the midwife to get a proper preggers-specific physic appointment. I just can't get used to the idea that I should go to the midwife about stuff... I bought myself one of those special pregnant lady pillows and sadly enough I kind of can't wait to go to bed and check it out. So rock and roll these days!

Brodicea · 01/11/2013 19:36

Also boom inspired by your charity shop buy - I've been fantasy buying over the internet, but the imaginary bill soon mounts up!

Brodicea · 01/11/2013 19:37

Oh and I've been looking at Swedish baby clothes polarnopyret.co.uk

BlindKitty · 01/11/2013 19:50

I've been buying stuff for weeks! Mostly clothes when I've seen them reduced! The way I see it, I have so many presents to buy (6 friends before me popping em out!) I'm just buying stuff when I seem it cheap and if I end up keeping anything then so be it!

CatsCantFlyFast · 01/11/2013 19:55

Brod will be checking out your link. Can you report back on pillow as I'm thinking about buying one. I'm pretty lax when it comes to money but £40+ for a pillow stopped me in my tracks! Assume you've got one of the loooong sausage ones?

Tallyra · 01/11/2013 20:11

what's so special about the pillow? I don't understand what it's needed for yet.

OP posts:
Brodicea · 01/11/2013 20:36

I bought a 'theraline maternity pillow' from amazon it is indeed a long sausage (boomerang type shape), mainly because my hip has been so darned uncomfortable at night and Dr Google tells me that using one of these pillows might help. I have been using a cushion between my knees (which is much cheaper) but I tend to wake up to find I have ejected it in the night www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/a1394420-is-it-worth-forking-out-on-a-pregnancy-sleep-pillow-if-so-what-one-shall-i-buy
I probably would have tried to seek something cheaper, but I just got a very late birthday present on cash and this was my treat (sad!).

Kitty you sound like a pro, I dig your shopping skills!

Boomgoestheweasel · 01/11/2013 20:38

I want a pillow! Keep waking up flat on my back and short of breath. They're bloody expensive though. Back to the charity shops! tally they support your bump and legs and stop you rolling onto your back.

brod boo about the hurty bum/hip - yeah get a physio appt booked, they sometimes take a long time to go through! I have self-diagnosed with bernhardt-roth syndrome of pregnancy tonight - ie my thigh has gone numb. It doesn't hurt but it's really annoying. Thanks for the link too, I'll be having a quick flick through that tonight!

Kitty not an enders fan here, but I say she killed her whomsoever she and her may be

BlindKitty · 01/11/2013 20:39

brod planning on going a bit mad in the Christmas sales!!!!

Brodicea · 01/11/2013 20:43

I think people with non-painful hips only resort to these once they have a big uncomfortable bump.

Brodicea · 01/11/2013 20:44

Oh dear boom - sounds annoying.

Good work kitty keep us posted on your bargains!

BlindKitty · 02/11/2013 06:44

brod well actually I might take a leaf out of boom's book and do a bit of charity shop shopping!

kat my mum made me laugh the other day. She was like 'is there anything else you still need to buy' (I'm 11+3!). 'Erm everything lol' Hmm. She then proceeded to tell me how she'd practically bought everything by the time she was at my stage! Oh and pretty sure she mentioned how she conceived me in the first month (again) as I've clearly not heard that story before...

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/11/2013 09:59

boom apologies for using you like my personal midwife! However have a question... I'm sitting reading the paper this morning and feeling quite breathless. I had this once during the week when I wasn't doing anything too but just ignored it. It's not liked am gasping for breath, just that I can't get enough air in iyswim, a little bit like the very beginning of an asthma attack (but I haven't had asthma since I was a child). Should I be worried or is this normal?

Tallyra · 02/11/2013 10:35

meek, is that with your heart booming in your throat? I've had that a few times and my ex gp mum says it's perfectly normal, but I have never had asthma so I wouldn't take it as gospel from me.

OP posts:
CatsCantFlyFast · 02/11/2013 10:47

No my heart rate and everything feels fine, I just can't get enough air in. It's probably been an hour now, still the same. I'm getting a tiny bit worried

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/11/2013 11:06

Also has everybody else's body hair stopped growing? I'm barely having to shave my legs at all! Bonus except for the fact it seems I'm stuck with the results of my over enthusiastic bikini wax for a while
