Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, 1st to early 2nd trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Welcome, funky - congrats on your BFP. I had an MMC four months before my BFP in August too, so you're in good company here.

Finally feeling like there might be a bit of a glow appearing here - at 17 weeks, about bl**dy time! (though I still upchucked on Friday morning Sad
But for those ladies who are smack in the middle of the first trimester and thinking it will never end - be reassured, it will! Just take it a day at a time.

kitty great news on your downs results.

Gosh, sausages seem like a really good idea right now - and I've just had lunch!

I'm up for moving over, though I think we might have to gently boot some of ladies out of there too - there are some berries that really can't be called antenatal any more! Grin

PuppyMummy · 16/11/2013 14:56

kat were not moving til I hav had my scan! couple of weeks Smile

qazxc · 16/11/2013 15:08

Well my stomach seems to be on a rollercoaster, mainly due to our rather fragrant customers at work. Most of them seems to have a scent which is a mix of stale fags, rancid chip fat and alcohol, coupled with an apparent need to invade personal space. It's like vomit russian roulette!

Also one of my male colleagues is adamant that i have given him my "stomach bug". The girls in the office know so are trying very hard not to giggle when he describes (to them) his ever growing symptoms and blames me for them. One of them did try to say "well maybe you have something else" but was greeted with Hmm "but what else could it be! of course it's the same bug, she shouldn't be in work really, it's hardly fair on us is it!". This is going to keep us amused til christmas, he's such a hypocondriac (sp?) he will never let it go. This is the man who went to A&E because he swallowed a fly! Grin

So 10 years ago today I met the love of my life. Never thought that 10 years down the line I'd have married him and have his baby inside me Smile

Tallyra · 16/11/2013 18:03

aaaahhhh that's so sweet kitty.

funkymonk · 16/11/2013 22:36

Bless you kitty Flowers

Thanks for the welcome ladies. Should I expect symptoms at 4 weeks? I have a few cramps which are just making me think af is coming after all. I had no symptoms when I had the miscarriage at 5 weeks 3 days so am worrying! When did most ladies find their symptoms began?

CatsCantFlyFast · 16/11/2013 23:31

Funky cramps are normal, think everyone has had some cramping or twinges in the early weeks. Other than that I would say don't expect an influx of symptoms, as you may not get any

BlindKitty · 17/11/2013 00:46

tally it's not my fault your hormonal Wink

funky yeh merk is right, it's just the embryo settling in

qazxc · 17/11/2013 07:52

I've had cramps and twinges, i think it's just the embryo getting snug/ growing pains.

funky I've pretty much sailed through my first trimester without many symptoms. My boobs are massive but less sore now. I've had mild nausea and only vommed once. Do know how you feel though, wanting some reassurance even if it does mean chucking up. Have you thought about a 7 week scan?

kat happy anniversary! Not much snuggling over here but then our friends are in the next room!

Tallyra · 17/11/2013 09:32

our anniversary this year fell while I was I'll, so we pretty much missed it. dh got me a card, I got him a hug!

funkymonk · 17/11/2013 09:43

Happy anniversary Kat!

Thanks folks! I already know symptoms different for everyone but worrying, worrying, worrying!

Sorry, can I ask something else... I'm taking 50mg b6 as part of a b complex vit. Anyone know if this is ok? Can I just stop taking it at 12 weeks? Research says its recommended in higher doses than that for morning sickness but can't find anything about coming off it.

Kitty I rang the fertility clinic minutes after the positive test to book the viability scan!

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/11/2013 10:01

Funky my pregnacare has 10mg of B6 which is ~700% RDA.

I found this from a study...
Doctors don't really know how much vitamin B6 you need to take to stop feeling queasy. [36] In one study, doctors found that a dose of 10 milligrams (mg for short) taken three times a day can reduce nausea. [36] This dose is about five times higher than the recommended daily dose for pregnant women.

Anyway if you're already on 50mg I would carry on until you speak to your doc/midwife/clinic. The main thing at this point is that you're getting your folic acid, I tool the pregnacare supplement as it made me feel like at least I was getting a decent amour of nutrients when I was throwing up everything I tried to eat!
The worrying is normal, and horrible. I'm afraid it doesn't get much better as time goes on Grin

Tallyra · 17/11/2013 10:23

me post.... I think I felt it move! I keep feeling it in the same place, central and low down. it kind of tickles! Grin

Yey, great news Tally! Grin

Brodicea · 17/11/2013 10:30

Ooo tally how exciting!

I've been feeling weird flutters and rumbles, but they usually precede a trump so, probably not feeling it yet!

Oh and hello funky congratulations Smile

Congrats to kitty too - shucks Thanks

funkymonk · 17/11/2013 10:47

Ooo tally!

Thanks merk. Will try and speak to clinic tomorrow. Am also on the pregnacare so its 60mg really.

qazxc · 17/11/2013 10:49

Tally how exciting!
funky i don't know how much B6 but as long as you're taking a pregnancy multi vit it should be all fine and dandy. I'm taking a "morning sickness" multi vit , think it has B6 and ginger in it, as well as wearing the sea sickness armband thingies and following the usual advice. still feel nauseated but less so, although it might be all placebo effect.

qazxc · 17/11/2013 10:51

I'm 9 weeks today! Scan on tuesday, fx all is well.

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/11/2013 10:56

Qaz those armbands really worked for me, if I took them off I would vom within half an hour!
