Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, 1st to early 2nd trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Yay thunderpants! Grin

kat uff better than me then, got a whole three weeks and a day to go! May go mad.

Getting the first day nerves now...hoping I don't do anything too stupid!

Thunderpantsarego · 13/11/2013 18:01

You'll be fine I'm sure boom, I hope you'll have lovely team mates to look after you.

kat I usually feel movement sitting up I think, although sometimes it seems to be happening all throughout the day and evening. I love those feelings even though it feels bloody weird

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/11/2013 18:27

Agree thunder, its a v odd feeling. I feel it pretty much all the time but most frequently when lying down. You will have a couple of days of thinking you might have felt something but not being sure and then it will def start!
Kat I am sure you are in a time warp and catching me up!
Boom you will be fine. Haven't you practically been working full time advising me anyway Grin

Tallyra · 13/11/2013 18:28

at least you have a date for your scans you two. I'm just as far along as you and haven't heard when mine is yet. I was told it would be automatically generated but I'm starting to worry.

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/11/2013 18:41

Ring and ask Tally. Nothing bad will happen if you ring Grin

I have no more scheduled scans Shock next up is my 24 week app with the doc and then 28 week app with the midwife in Jan. Trying to persuade DH another private 3d scan is a good keepsake Grin

BlindKitty · 13/11/2013 18:43

thunder lovin the name change! Fear not, I fart in the comfort of my own home too! Try to do it discreetly but it doesn't always work like that haha. I remember the first time I slept with dh (back in 2003) and farting so loud in my sleep that it woke me up! I was convinced he'd be horrified and never come back lol

boom good luck for tomorrow!

So got my 20week scan date for 8th jan (makes me 21weeks), slightly annoying its late as will miss the next sale now!

Brodicea · 13/11/2013 18:53

Hello all, so glad to nip in here and see you have been talking farts.

I too have managed to keep them in around DH, until the last few weeks. We've agreed that anything goes at the mo (although I'm worried I'll lapse forever!), just this evening I managed to do a really loud one that started silent, got loud, got silent, then loud, then silent again: lasted a good few seconds. He was disgusted impressed I think Smile I simply cannot help them, they just pop out these days.

I'm starting to get that horrible feeling something might not be right in there - don't think I'll feel OK until I've had the next scan at 20 weeks (19th December!)

Tallyra · 13/11/2013 18:53

who do I call? the appt will be at the hospital, do I still call the mw?

OP posts:
Tallyra · 13/11/2013 18:56

Dec, Jan, you have your dates already? I'm going to have to chase this up urgently I think!

BlindKitty · 13/11/2013 19:13

Ah don't stress tally, maybe my hospital is just super organised (wow never thought I'd say that about them lol)

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/11/2013 19:16

Tally call the place where you have your scan... I assume your local maternity unit? The appointments for scans are created by them and not the midwives.
I have my 24 week app because I now go onto blended care with my GP and so I had to book that myself. The 28 week one I booked with my midwife when I had my 16 week check with her (I've always had the next midwife appointment booked at each appointment) however this was mainly because of Xmas being in the way (so we've stuck it on the 2nd jan)

Don't think my first movements were pre 19 weeks (maybe just around that time) but yes I'm tall/thin size 8/10 normally. However I have no stomach muscles so I blame that on why my bump grew so quickly
Having said all of that baby has been very low (head down in pelvis) until this week, even the sonographer commented on her upside down and facing out position barely using any of the space. However the last few days she has moved and movements are up around my belly button. So the movements I felt at first were v low
I might have done a fair bit of gentle prodding to encourage movement around 18 weeks
I was starting to panic about not feeling anything, despite knowing it was normal for a first timer...

Boomgoestheweasel · 13/11/2013 19:42

Tally I'd start off phoning the antenatal clinic at the hospital. They're the ones your referral should have gone through (although it might be the sonography dept, depending on the trust), and to be honest yes, you should have had your scan appointment through by now! Most likely they've made the appointment and just not sent your letter out though. Fret not though, they'll fit you in!

Brod I actually just nearly farted with laughter at your description of your multi-tonal trumping! Grin Sure everything is fine and dandy with mini-Brod but I totally understand the worry.

Kitty I've definitely woken myself up with a noisy one before. I don't count them though, Mr Boom is never conscious enough to realise it isn't him Grin

Have very definitely got the fear about tomorrow now, convinced myself I'll be in trouble for not having a uniform in time and that my manager secretly hates me for being knocked up! Aaaah, paranoia...

qazxc · 13/11/2013 19:44

I trumped so loud yesterday that DP jumped up from his chair thinking that something had fallen down in the kitchen. Blush.

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/11/2013 19:53

Qaz Grin

Boom it will be fine. I'm pretty certain my manager hates me for getting knocked up so soon after starting my new job. I don't give a shit what he thinks especially as he is the crappest manager I have ever had
My probation period is up in Dec, about 1 week before I have to give my notice of when I'm going on mat leave. Because he has treated me (and other colleagues) so badly I shall take pleasure in telling him I intend to go on mat leave as soon as I can. Yes, in this regard, I am going to act like a bitch to get my revenge!

Brodicea · 13/11/2013 20:59

tee hee qaz! and arf boom - glad to be spreading the love!

Good luck tomorrow boom I'm sure it will all be fine and that no-one hates you (thanks for the reassurance)!

merk your managers sounds like a douche.

I keep hoping every little rumble is baby, but I don't think so yet.

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/11/2013 21:12

Rumble is a good description... Very much felt like bubbly wind at first

Good luck for tomorrow boom!

Thunderpantsarego · 13/11/2013 22:17

I am hooting with the fart stories - so funny!

kat I started to feel something around the 19 weeks marks I think. I am kind of normal slim build (size 10-12 and I'm 5'10'') but have always had a bit of a belly curve podge if you know what I mean...

Just mentioned to DH perhaps I should nc to trumpypantsarego and he agrees wholeheartedly. Blush

BlindKitty · 14/11/2013 07:18

Lol @ qaz. Sometimes I do them so loud the cat's ears go back!

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/11/2013 08:08

Good luck today Boom.
For anybody bored I need some people to help me encourage RP to pimp

Foodylicious · 14/11/2013 11:22

Went the entire day without voming yesterday Grin, came close a few times though Blush
Think promethazine sleepiness might be wearing off a bit too, took it earlier yesterday evening and much less dozy this morning, though i did not get up till 10, I did not feel stoned when I got up at 6 for a pee.
Going to take it early again tonight and try to get up at a reasonably early time to test it out.
merk sorry but I am not up for encouraging RP this month, sure she said a few days ago she really does not want to test early this month, though I know we all said that most months Wink

My wind has not been that bad this week but the bloating it ridiculious - trousers that are lose in the morning are so tight I have to undo them or change into pjs by the evening.

PuppyMummy · 14/11/2013 17:18

Hi all, checking in!

foody I expand in the evening too. Don't look too bad in the morning but by 5pm I look 'properly' pregnant. bought new work trousers in next size up and they r roomy so hopefully lots of expansion space!

nothing to report here. 11 weeks today. Not long til official scan! Yay! Have been feeling much more positive since private one though! Smile
