Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, 1st to early 2nd trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Tell me I'm being silly? I've got my ante natal appt tomorrow after not having a scan for 2 weeks. I thought I was fine with every 2 weeks instead of every week as we're so far past all the mcs I've had before, but I can't feel any movement yet so I'm worrying that everything has stopped again. I'm being paranoid right?

Oh Tally its completely understandable that you are fretting, but don't let the paranoia win!
What time is your appt and remind me how many weeks you are now?

Hi I'm 7 weeks with twinkie #1:) I was told that I would probs struggle to conceive so it's a happy surprise! My only question is, I am really happy about the maybe-baby but sometimes I also feel panicky...is that normal!? I'm not a kid or anything...

Tallyra · 11/11/2013 19:45

I'm 17 weeks, nearly 18. I've been spoilt by having so many scans, I don't know how you lot cope with just the official ones!!!
It's at 9 tomorrow, or whenever they can be bothered to see me. my consultant is away so I don't know who I'll see or whether I'll even get a scan, but a Doppler will be fine as long as I hear a heartbeat.
I'm so impatient to feel something though!!!!!!

Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight tally try not to fret too much. Can you watch a film or something to distract you? I find I need something really engaging, not just tv when i am worried

BlindKitty · 11/11/2013 20:05

tally it's no wonder you're fretting but I can always give you a wang if you need one? Wink

stephie nah we're all a bit para in here! Have you thought about having a scan? My 7 week scan massively put my mind at rest

Man, feeling the baby move feels like so far away! I can't wait!

Tallyra · 11/11/2013 20:12

Its probably because dh is working so my mind has nothing to concentrate on except crap TV and a snuggly dog. A Wang might help! It doesn't help that I have a headache and paracetamol hasn't helped.

Stephie, everyone here worries!

Tally its understandable with your history, but even without a history of mc I am paranoid at every scan. And whilst being able to feel baby all the time helps, it also adds to the paranoia the minute I haven't felt anything for a while! I swear by my Doppler, being able to hear that heartbeat and get the reassurance whenever I need is amazing. Think mine was about £20 from amazon

PoppySeedBun · 11/11/2013 20:43

Hello Tally - I'll give you a wang if you give me one back! Thinking exactly all of this for my 16 wk appointment on Weds (actually 17 wks because I couldn't go last week). Even though I've been up chucking until last Friday, and still have all the symptoms, including a bump, there's a part of me that still thinks they won't find a heartbeat, just as there was at 12 wk scan. Funny, I haven't had a scan since then, and haven't really worried about it in between, but now the appointment is nearly here, it's at the front of my mind again.

On flu jab, FWIW, I'm having mine tomorrow at work - office pays for all those who want it to have it and I have for the last couple of years. No idea if it's made a difference in the past, but given how miserable th real thing is, I think its worth having.

Hi stephie - congrats on your BFP and welcome to the club! We do plenty of worrying/panicking in hear as you can see from the nonsense above

Tally I'm with you (and all the other nervous berries) on wanting the babies to just MOVE! Stupid anterior placentas getting in the way Angry I also love my doppler, I've been told off by everyone for having it but for me it's been the difference between just about holding it together and being a complete gibbering wreck. Mine was amazon too, and works really well. Good luck for tomorrow, I'm sure everything will be fine. I'm impatient to get to 20 weeks and my next scan now...roll on 5th December!

Hi Stephie, congratulations and welcome to the loony bin Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 11/11/2013 21:19

Incidentally, I fear Mr Boom's man flu may prove fatal. It's not looking good Wink

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/11/2013 21:28

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/11/2013 21:29

Boom i was wanting to know when the third tri starts as information online (even reliable sources) seems as confused as me!

In my latest symptom news I appear to have pulled a muscle in my groin (which I am attributing to the baby as I haven't done any exercise) and i have what feels like a bruised fanjo (which I am attributing to the baby as I haven't had any action Grin). I am also still farting for England, and now have very little control over them Shock
You all have these delights to come! Night

BlindKitty · 12/11/2013 06:45

merk and boom from when could you hear the heartbeat? My mate has popped her sprog now so I get to have her Doppler but I'm only 13weeks tomorrow.

merk farting sounds fun, thank goodness I don't fart Wink

CatsCantFlyFast · 12/11/2013 07:16

I got a heartbeat well before then Blind. It may take time the first time you try though. And (s)he is probably lower than you think
