Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, 1st to early 2nd trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Good luck with your quest angel!

Guess, what? He got the job! Leeds here we come!

Boomgoestheweasel · 05/11/2013 16:31

Brod AWESOME!! Well done him! I'm next door to Leeds, we can hang out on mat leave and be pregnant fatties together Grin WHOOOOOP!!!

Brodicea · 05/11/2013 16:36

Yaaay!! Really pleased Grin also slightly bricking it as we now have to find a place to live and get ourselves mobilised, all the way from Brighton! Still, I'm pregnant so can't do any heavy lifting (BONUS!).
So glad to hear you're so close boom - I was wondering, when you said I should wave hello on my way to York - we'll be fattie bumbatties and sleep deprived zombies in the North together!

Angelina77 · 05/11/2013 16:41

brodicea great news! :)

CatsCantFlyFast · 05/11/2013 16:46

Jealous face, I would LOVE to move back up North.
Is anyone else near London to keep me company in Surrey?

Foodylicious · 05/11/2013 16:48

Great news brod I am in Leeds (well Pudsey), any idea where abouts you will be living? is his job in the city?

Tallyra · 05/11/2013 17:11

Kent is nearer to surrey than Somerset.... Fab news brod! I moved down here from York and have also lived in Leeds- Yorkshire rocks! (But I am a West Country girl in my heart)

Brodicea · 05/11/2013 17:37

Thanks for the congrats!
He'll be working at Leeds Uni so we're thinking Meanwood, Headingley, Kirkstall (Hyde Park might be a bit TOO student-y). He's from Chapel Allerton but doesn't want to be too freshly reminded of his teen years at every corner!

It's a shame we are so spread out, maybe we should plan a grand meet-up somewhere in the middle.

ladybunnikins · 05/11/2013 17:43

Congrats Brod and Mr Brod! Making friends should be easier with all those baby groups to join.
My beta was 49 so OK but I was hoping for higher after 5 days of BFPs. Feeling deflated. And they kept me waiting until 1650 for the phone call! Blood test being repeated a week on Thursday.

PuppyMummy · 05/11/2013 18:02

congrats Brod we have lived in meanwood its nice, the problem with the areas you mentioned is they r sought after so quite expensive! when we wanted to buy we moved to South Leeds - loads more house for your money! how exciting!

foody malt loaf, yum! with loads of real butter!

cant remember who said it but I hav also put on 5lb since bfp! mainly cos stopped running 10k 3 times a week but also been sooo hungry! oh well

FeatherFeather11 · 05/11/2013 18:03

lady keep the faith! Beta doubles and triples and quadruples within days, doesn't it?

Congrats Mrs & Mr Brod!

Found myself in John Lewis this afternoon, having bunked off work early. Was looking at all the baby stuff. Bloody hell, it's not cheap is it! (I know it's v early but I couldn't help myself - just wanted to get an idea!) ??????

ladybunnikins · 05/11/2013 18:19

Feather, I fell in love with the baby jogger versa gt months ago. It was on Amazon for 283 (normally 449) so I bought it. This was before embryo transfer! DH doesn't know yet. It's in a box in the garage. If this baby survives though, I'm hoping to borrow loads of stuff from my sister, if she doesn't get updiffed again soon.

BelissimaLol · 05/11/2013 18:20

Merk I'm in Middlesex Grin
Think janey, akex and quod are also in London! Maybe mother too????
You will have to spend more time with the grads GrinGrin

Foodylicious · 05/11/2013 18:24

Have a really good look around house hunting if you can brod before we moved to pudsey (20 min drive from city centre we lived in armley. The centre is not that great, but we rented just outside in a lovely 3 bed house for the same price as a flat in headingly.

MotherOfCleo · 05/11/2013 18:27

I'm in Sussex lol Smile I'm definitely in the minority I think!!

Boomgoestheweasel · 05/11/2013 19:24

Come to Harrogate brod! Easy train to uni and we eat teacakes off doilies at Betty's EVERY DAY that's a shameless sales lie, in case you were wondering

Boomgoestheweasel · 05/11/2013 19:30

lady stay hopeful, those numbers will go up!

feather I believe Santa might be bringing me a babyjogger city mini twin for Christmas Grin. I love that a buggy can be GT though!

Just yoga'd, now I'm going to stuff my face with fish pie, have a bath and go and snore my head off!

Brodicea · 05/11/2013 19:31

Yeah even though Mr Brod grew up in Leeds he hasn't lived there since he was 18 so is a bit clueless. We did look at Armley as some bits seemed OK. I think we want to find somewhere OK to rent and then save up to buy something cheap - everything looks cheap compared to our rent in Brighton!
Ah the famous Betty's - well, you never know we may buy outside of Leeds, it's just our Yorkshire starting point.

lady good sneaky shopping skills!

Boomgoestheweasel · 05/11/2013 19:41

Sorry, meant to direct my babyjogger comments to lady...duh

ladybunnikins · 05/11/2013 19:47

Boom you can get the BJCM double as a GT too!

qazxc · 05/11/2013 20:43

brod congrats on the move, very exciting! and you have the perfect excuse as to why you can't lug boxes

FeatherFeather11 · 05/11/2013 21:57

lady and boom what's a gt? My eyes got all swirly in the shop today and I started to feel a little overwhelmed. Fine now though - it's just all so new and surreal (and a bit terrifying!). I spent so much time TRYING to get pregnant that now that I'm here I don't know what to do with myself!

ladybunnikins · 05/11/2013 22:15

GT version just has different wheels, forever air I think so they don't get punctures.
I've been in kiddicare, mothercare, babies r us and john lewis in the last few days but I didn't stay long, I felt like such a fraud!
Have a look at the pushchair threads in the products section if you want some ideas.
