Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, 1st to early 2nd trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

qazxc · 04/11/2013 20:02

Yay foody so glad all went well. Come back soon and tell all!

Brodicea · 04/11/2013 20:06

Yaaayy foody!

Boomgoestheweasel · 04/11/2013 20:14

Hooray foody! Now I can enjoy my dinner without refreshing the screen every two seconds Grin x

PuppyMummy · 04/11/2013 20:29

we gave in and booked an early scan. the stressing finally got too much!

seen dancing bean with heartbeat waving its little arms and legs!! Grin Grin
Also put me about a week further than I thought so interesting to see if that evens out at the proper dating scan!

Didn't want to mention it in case it was bad news Smile

Tallyra · 04/11/2013 20:35

yay puppy and foody! good luck qaz, it's hell waiting when you don't have any answers but it sounds like you have every chance of it being good. xxxxx

qazxc · 04/11/2013 20:43

Ah puppy delighted for you. hoping that it will be me in 2 weeks and that my bean was just shy/hiding.
I know tallyra it'll be hell for the next 2 weeks as my paranoia will run riot. I do that many knicker checks at work they must think i have some sort of bizarre bug or the worst cistitis ever. Grin

Brodicea · 04/11/2013 20:43

Yaaaayyy for you also puppy Smile y'all are warming my cockles.

PuppyMummy · 04/11/2013 21:26

qaz fingers firmly crossed here for you

FeatherFeather11 · 04/11/2013 21:36

Yay foody and puppy! Great news!

So can I ask a stupid question? Is it normal to get weird pinching in my lower belly and around the pubic bone? Worried something is up! Also, did anyone else wake up at 5am every morning for no reason early on in pregnancy? Been doing it since last week - before my bfp. Driving me nuts. Oh, and one more thing: morning sickness - when does it start?? I'm terrified!

qazxc · 04/11/2013 21:52

feather i have had some ache and twinges but as far as i know that'snormal. I have also had bad sleep and waking v early, which is not helping the tiredness. Nausea started in earnest this week (am week 7), but as with everything in pregnancy no 2 are the same. Don't worry even though i'm a paranoid wreck myself

BlindKitty · 04/11/2013 21:58

qaz sure he's just hiding! Guess that's the prob with early scans and trying to find something so minute

foody yeh for scan going well!

puppy haha, knew you'd cave! Glad all went ok

merk any more movement?

angel you can get lactulose over the counter. Also prunes work wonders!

Question: those of you who have 'come out', how did you tell your boss? Did you just come out with it?

Foodylicious · 04/11/2013 22:36

HI!!!

So the scan was all good, dated us as 8+1 which is just right from when I ov'd (not the lmp which would have us at 8+3).
She said all looked good, had a bit of a mooch around, could not see either ovary due to bowels (nice!). Speedy little flutter and you could see it sort of fidgeting around a bit. she said it was nice and central too.
The woman was lovely and we have a few pics.
Thanks for all your support guys!!
feather I had weird insomnia from before the BFP (I knew it was weird cause I get insomnia alot and this was different some how) waking up really early or being awake for 2-4 hrs in the middle of the night but sort of spaced out?
'Fanny daggers' might be the phrase you are looking for feather or not?
I get pains and twinges quite a bit, worry when I get them then worry when I don't. Lots of funny stretching pains around wks 4-6, currently little stabby pains though I think most of thats trapped wind, i would swear its right at my cervix at the time, then it moves and was definately just wind (nice too huh?!)
Nausea and insatiable appetite started about week 5 for me, been proper pukey for last 2 weeks. Soo much worse when I have not slept well, so that is key for me, but there is not much. U can do to control it.
puppy that is fab, fab, fab! if ever I have a secret I will share it with you, well done keeping it to yourself Grin.
qaz the waiting will be tough, and am soo with you on the knicker checking. It bad enough that i need to pee about 3 times more than normal, then there is all the checking in between. And my poor boobs! simply getting squeezed and prodded continuously. Will need to stop this habit before I get back to work.

Awake, awake, awake! And eating. Ooh that feels better. Go ahead yoghurt bars are my saviour Grin

ladybunnikins · 05/11/2013 03:45

I'm also wide awake, I think it's excitement about official test day today. Feather, I've had cramps since the day of BFP, Foody gives a really good description of them!
Congrats on the scans Puppy and Foody and fingers crossed for qazxc.

Foodylicious · 05/11/2013 03:54

Ooh, good luck lady, FX
Going to try sleep again now x

CatsCantFlyFast · 05/11/2013 06:33

I think you get more symptoms early on, the twinges were definitely an early symptom that went after a few weeks. As was the insomnia. My sickness started around week 6 - don't worry feather if I can survive it (fear of being sick) then you can, although you might have to try hard to beat my levels of moaning! Then again you might not get any... A few people haven't.
Movement every day now, and DH can feel it too Grin

PuppyMummy · 05/11/2013 06:48

feather I havent been sick at all and not felt sick in the morning.
I had the insomnia for the first couple of weeks and sore boobs for the first week but they are on and off now and insomnia gone.
My main consistent symptoms are only being thirsty, weeing more and being tired.

the lack of symptoms is one of the reasons we caved and had an early scan! I guess we're lucky! but its all a worry!

BlindKitty · 05/11/2013 07:06

foody are you putting your pic up on mn?

lady foody I think I might be starting to get over my insomnia....fx managed. 6.30 every night this week Grin

Where is lady anyway?????

Thundercatsarego · 05/11/2013 07:27

Fantastic foody and puppy and promising qaz so fingers crossed the next two weeks fly by.

Boomgoestheweasel · 05/11/2013 08:04

Aaaah puppy don't blame you, lovely news!

Feather I got off very lightly with all symptoms, lower belly twinges in the first few weeks after BFP, bloating, very slight nausea and the joy of insomnia/midnight wee trips. All of which disappeared completely by about 13wks, I now feel totally normal apart from a bit fat and breathless!

Heh foody midnight snacking is the way forward. Can't remember who told me malt loaf was good...but boy, is malt loaf good when you're starving hungry!

FeatherFeather11 · 05/11/2013 08:05

Thanks for all the advice, ladies!

merk I have a fear of vomming too! Urgh. Hoping morning sickness is hereditary - my mum didn't have it with any of us. Although I have a feeling I won't be so lucky.

foody 'fanny daggers' ha ha ha!! Brilliant. That's exactly what it feels like. So pleased your scan went well. Hoorah!

lady fx'd for today! All will be well.

kitty think I saw her over on the berries thread. Getting confused splitting my MN time between both threads now!

qazxc · 05/11/2013 08:42

foody i have been prodding and squeezing my boobs since i started TTC as it the first sign. I once found myself doing it during a tesco grocery shop with a very embarrassed DP next to me.

still sore from the scan yesterday (well i hope it's the scan). had a panic moment when i woke up that all my symptoms had vanished but am now feeling nauseated so am all happy.
