Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, first trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a long time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Oh yeah there's a definite place for ranting, I wasn't suggesting that we shouldn't do it. I just decided not to do it myself this minute morning!

Boomgoestheweasel · 04/10/2013 09:09

thunder you are indeed right, oh wise one...but I can't concentrate on your sage words because of the overwhelming egg-shaped void in my breakfast plans!

However, have sworn at severely chastised Mr Boom and he has gone out foraging for eggs. So all may yet be right with the world this morning Grin

Poor boom - MrBoom 'the egg snatcher'!

How very true thunder, we've all come a long way to get here.

Thundercatsarego · 04/10/2013 09:31

Ok continuing on my annoyingly positive attempts this morning, anyone got anything good coming up?

My happy thoughts for today are:

  1. The bowl of porridge in front of me with a good half inch of golden syrup on the top
  1. I'm taking oh out for dinner tonight. About time we had a date amongst all the other challenging (but good) stuff going on at the moment.

Hope the eggs arrive sharpish boom and mr boom doesn't suffer too much in the digestion department after eating all the others.

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/10/2013 09:47

Yes - I am hoping to make the progression back from cave woman to human today!! After an amount of waxing, massaging, threading, a manicure/pedicure AND my haircut I should be vaguely presentable enough to leave the house and go for dinner with DH. (Did you mention letting myself go? Moi? Surely not!) It was our anniversary yesterday (as in when we first got together, not wedding anniversary) so hoping to be able to stay awake long enough to celebrate. And not have to go out with a bag on my head either

Thundercatsarego · 04/10/2013 09:53

Ooooooo merk that sounds fantastic. and better than a bowl of porridge and 2 courses for £15 up at the farm shop

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/10/2013 10:10

I would love 2 courses for £15 at the farm shop. Much better than going to a restaurant where there is nothing i fancy on the menu

Thundercatsarego · 04/10/2013 10:11

It's fish Friday- would that put you off?

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/10/2013 10:16

Maybe. I was fancying some lovely homemade sausages!

Thundercatsarego · 04/10/2013 10:20

Ah that sounds nice. Are there no restaurants near you that serve that sort of thing?

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/10/2013 11:19

DH likes his Indian/Mexican/French restaurants and being as he has had to put up with me moaning for the last few weeks feels like he should get his own way!

Tallyra · 04/10/2013 18:48

hi guys. sorry, another me post. I had my dating scan today. so, despite feeling like absolute crap and being peed off with being ill, I can almost see things happening now. everything is well with baby, and the longer appointment meant I had more chance to get my head around it. I even heard a heartbeat and squeezed a couple of tears out. inside I'm smiling even if physically I'm finding it hard. I'm dated at 12+1 which is just right. so I'm hoping I can start believing in it now!

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/10/2013 18:53

Tally have as many me posts as you need - all of mine are me posts and I'm not even ill! We miss hearing from you. Are you feeling any better at all clutches at shred of hope on your behalf? Your scan is great news, do not feel bad about struggling to feel positive about the pregnancy when you are so ill - that is perfectly understandable. Sounds as though this bean is sticking around tho, and you will be thrilled when he/she arrives not least because the sickness will stop regardless of how you feel now x

Tallyra · 04/10/2013 22:22

ever so slightly better - mornings are easier but pm still a nightmare.

CatsCantFlyFast · 05/10/2013 04:06

Lovely middle of the night insomnia due to v bad indigestion. Grump!

Boomgoestheweasel · 05/10/2013 07:38

Aw tally great news, both on the scan and on feeling a bit better. Fingers crossed the trend continues, you and merk and thunder can find your glows together....?!

Wallowing in bed on last morning of holiday here. Got to get up and pack and drive eight hours home with two stinky dogs later - joy!

merk sorry you had a rubbish night Sad

Did those going out for dinner last night enjoy it up until indigestion hit?

BlindKitty · 05/10/2013 08:06

tally GREAT news re the scan! Have you put a pic up? At least mornings are starting to be more bearable. Maybe this is the start of blooming?

So in my news dh's best friend announced his dp was pg yesterday! Think we stole their thunder when dh announced that so were we!!! Oops!

Then we went to a party where 2 of our friends were pg. I'd planned to keep it completely under wraps but then our other friend announced she was 7 weeks pregnant so I just had to blurt it out! Can you believe she's due 3 days before me?!! I have a baby buddy (except for you guys of course!)

MotherOfCleo · 05/10/2013 08:13

oh how lovely kitty! I have a friend due a week before me, its nice to have someone in RL to chat to Smile

merk pepermint tea with a teaspoon of honey really helps with a dodgy tum!!! Worth a try.

tally so so pleased things are progressing for u!!! Hope you feel better soon.

BelissimaLol · 05/10/2013 09:00

Tally that is amazing news. Maybe the pregnancy bloom will hit you and you will be as good as gold from now on! Look at Kate Middleton GrinGrin. She got better didn't she? although I'm sure she was not half as sick as you are
Regarding this blasted bloom, I never found it. I came to the conclusion it was a polite way for people to call me fat when they said I was blooming!!
I hope you are all feeling a bit better as the days go by and you enter the second and third trimesters!

MotherOfCleo · 05/10/2013 15:42

lol that's exactly what I think when people say 'your blooming', I always just think they're trying to find a nice qay to say 'geez luv you've let yourself go abit, looking a bit chunky these days' Wink

My OH keeps getting annoyed when I comment about how fat i am, he likes to point out it's not fat it's baby......still feel fat though. Shock Blush

BlindKitty · 05/10/2013 16:30

I feel fat but prob because it is fat lol and not baby yet! Prob because I've not exercised since conception!!! Eek!

PuppyMummy · 05/10/2013 16:50

snap kitty!! mine is definitely fat and not baby!! im considering trying the gym next week!

MotherOfCleo · 05/10/2013 17:16

Fret not ladies that stage does pass, I got to around 21/22 weeks before I went from feeling tubby to feeling like I had a bump. You're not fat its just everything is pushed out/moved around as bubs grows.

CatsCantFlyFast · 05/10/2013 17:47

Existing on gaviscon today Shock

BlindKitty · 05/10/2013 18:26

puppy it's not even like I feel that bad, I'm just being paranoid! Really do need to sort myself out! X
