Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, first trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a long time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Are you concerned about the chromosome side of things?

CatsCantFlyFast · 30/09/2013 16:58

I have been trying to be very sensible about the proper results, telling myself that the NHS results were not too bad and therefore everything would be fine. Hence forcing myself to think about the gender to prevent worrying and fretting about the main results iyswim. However I think I have put myself in a terrible position tonight as it doesn't look as if they are going to mail them tonight. Which leaves me worrying they are not 'good' results hence them not wanting to send them until the doc has rang me.

Regards the gender it is suffice to say that all I want is a healthy baby of any variety! I do have a teeny tiny weeny preference for my first child, but will not be disappointed either way obviously. (Dons fireproof suit for having dared admit something so frowned upon). It is to do with the fact I can imagine myself with one gender of child and have never pictured myself with the other gender iyswim. Probably a lot to do with me and my personality. It's hard to explain without looking like a witch so I shall give up digging a hole and let you all swear at me from behind the privacy of your computer screens. Least you know now I am always brutally honest!!!

Excellent news merk. Regarding fb I also had my hand twisted and had to announce after 20 week scan in order to avoid offending people. But I refused to do it before then!

BlindKitty · 30/09/2013 18:28

mother thunder my friend was worried about going to a mlu but in the end she found it much easier delivering naturally knowing she couldn't have an epidural, etc without going by ambulance

merk I have 2 friends who raved about their home births although I don't think they usually recommend it for 1st births

brodi after ttc for 2 1/2 years I am TOTALLY going to put it on Facebook! It's about time I got my own back! Will make sure all of our close friends know 1st though.

kat is your scan tomorrow or wed? Good luck for either! Is it 12 weeks?

boom what a complete bitch! I hope you told her that as well!

BlindKitty · 30/09/2013 18:33

merk how utterly annoying they haven't sent your results! Wouldn't stress though, the consultant prob just left without doing it

So only 14 1/2 hours to go until my scan...

MotherOfCleo · 30/09/2013 18:43

merk I wouldn't panic. No doubt they came in but noone had a chance to look at them or process them before they left so they left them until tomorrow. Everything crossed for you!

kitty Im more worried baby will get stuck and I'll need an episiotomy, forceps or ventouse and instead will have to wait to be shipped by ambulance with an unhappy bubba. Hope I need none of them though and he just slides out easily and painlessly Wink

PuppyMummy · 30/09/2013 19:10

merk hope they let you know soon.
kitty exciting! hope all ok!

I rang doctors today and made an initial midwife appointment. But am too busy tourturing myself that my boobs dont hurt as much today so im not excited...Sad

CatsCantFlyFast · 30/09/2013 19:44

Don't want to gloat am am prob counting chickens way too early but hopefully it may give you some hope if you're feeling crappy. I think my second trimester energy has been found. For the first time since about 5 weeks I have made dinner from scratch (2 courses) after a hellish day at work and don't feel like falling asleep on the sofa. FX this feeling normal stays around a bit. And tells my hair, skin and nails to get with the program!
Mother your edd seems so close now ShockShockShockShockShock

MotherOfCleo · 30/09/2013 19:55

Whoop whoop, nice work merk!!! Long may it remain!

MotherOfCleo · 30/09/2013 19:57

What about the woman who stood up and her baby fell out?! Shock

PuppyMummy · 01/10/2013 07:03

kitty we decided not to. were due to go away when im 8 weeks. if we had the scan just before and it was bad then holiday ruined, once we get back we may as well wait for the proper one.
