Ooooooh 2nd trimester thunder! You're definitely using a time machine to get ahead...

Tally good to hear from you and so glad all is ok with your scan. Sorry you're still feeling so shitty, hope things get better soon!

I had dirty Pizza Hut for lunch. Now feel grotty - that'll teach me to feed the babies junk!

Thundercatsarego · 18/09/2013 16:26

boom, that's nothing. I'm scooping golden syrup from the tin and licking it off the knife while at my desk. Filthy

Boomgoestheweasel · 18/09/2013 16:28

Thunder, you're actually my hero. I feel better about eating spoonfuls of butter and jam this morning now Hmm

Thundercatsarego · 18/09/2013 16:33

I just have up on the knife and stuck my finger in there. Yummmmmmmmmmmmm

I've got scones and clotted cream at home as well Smile
Want one?

Could we all go together? We could just hover over the grads thread when we're all ready and invade en masse?

Well I seem to have been stuck in week 8 for all eternity, I'm neeeever going to make it to 2nd trimester! Maybe you should dip a toe in and report back on the temperature?

You can leave the scones and cream here though Grin

boom I'm not telling you only because I asked you ages ago and you wouldn't tell me I like you tactic with your dh, I might have to pinch that....

merk at what point can you have a harmony test? Is it a scan or a blood test? Is this the downs test as well?

tally so sorry you're still feeling crap. I wish I had some words of advice! Are you managing to eat anything? We've had a few patients where we've started naso-gastric feeds but imo that isn't necessary the answer

So we had a talk on maternal nutrition at work today, especially the first few weeks. Really wanted to ask loads of questions but didn't want to arise suspicion!!!

PoppySeedBun · 18/09/2013 19:31

Second trimesterdom? Sounds very advanced thunder Congrats - you can still hang out with us not least because I will probably still want to hide when I catch up

boom I'm with you - time seems to be going very slowly at the moment. I'm 9wks today but the last week has seemed to last ages. I'm sure my team at work are getting fed up with my general slackerness as well - keep coming in late because I feel nauseous in the mornings and then can't bring myself to stay late as I'm so tired.

kat and tally congrats on your scans! I don't think I have another one now until 12 weeks and wondering if I should book a 10 wk one anyway...

Wish I felt like scones and cream. Most disappointing thing about this PG so far is I don't even feel like indulging in cake or biscuits, whereas that would usually be my snack of choice. Mash is another matter though Smile

CatsCantFlyFast · 18/09/2013 19:32

Blind the harmony test is a blood test that uses baby DNA in mums blood to identify (99% certainty) the risk of three chromosome disorders (of which one is downs). It can also identify baby gender from the bloods with 100% accuracy. Most clinics combine it with a detailed scan to look at soft markers for downs too.
Am hoping in your talk today they said it was fine to live on multivitamins and crisps and chocolate ShockGrin

BlindKitty · 18/09/2013 22:13

merk erm yeh I think they did say that, just as long as they're prawn cocktail crisps and galaxy's.. Wink

Thundercatsarego · 18/09/2013 22:42

So did you have it merk? What happened and what happens next?

BelissimaLol · 18/09/2013 22:49

Thunder it's about time you joined us mrs!!! Grin
Otherwise you might only show up after baby is born! although I was also too freaked out and only rejoined MN about a couple of weeks before I gave birth
Good news all round here. The so called 8ww does seem to take at least double that amount of time! I'm sure mine lasted at least 15 weeksGrinGrin
When do you get results merk? You should come over too. No need to leave helicopter. Do what I do and stay on both when I should not even be here really but don't feel ready for post natal threads

CatsCantFlyFast · 19/09/2013 08:00

It's today Thunder. Hoping for a new picture to add to my collection tonight!

Thundercatsarego · 19/09/2013 08:22

Oh sorry merk, I'm dazed and confused as normal! So it's blood test and scan?

MotherOfCleo · 19/09/2013 09:24

Yeah ladies, hover between the 2, come throw your 10 cents in with us guys every now and again. We are nice, honest.

Thundercatsarego · 19/09/2013 09:30

I thought merk had been over there all along. Because she is brave and sensible...

Boomgoestheweasel · 19/09/2013 09:33

Hope it goes well merk. How long until you get your results?

Gearing up for my Gran's 90th birthday party tonight. Slightly too fat for all the dresses I was thinking of wearing so may have to go naked Hmm. Still, taking Mr Boom to buy a new shirt so a new dress might be in order!

So far have been very good today, had porridge, a glass of fruit and veg juice and my 12 folic acid tablets for brekkie. Now eyeing up the scones I pinched from Thunder last night though..

Thundercatsarego · 19/09/2013 09:40

Ooo nice bit of dress shopping?! Great!

MotherOfCleo · 19/09/2013 09:46

I think merk has been lurking Grin

Ohhh got to love a new frock Smile I discovered A Line was my friend when I got preggo Wink

Boomgoestheweasel · 19/09/2013 10:36

A-line is definitely the plan! Might hide my scone-baby as well as the baby-babies!

CatsCantFlyFast · 19/09/2013 16:15

I've been lurking on the grad thread since well before i graduated! Was hoping the good luck would rub off! As I am now starting to believe this might be happening (really hope that's not the pride before a fall at tonight's scan - touch wood) I am desperate to know everything the books won't tell me hence the grads are the experts!

Scan and blood test at 5.30pm, blood test results take 15 days. Have just got the pre-scan nerves back - I can imagine myself appearing on the bloomin labour ward at 40 weeks and still being petrified I've dreamed it and there is nothing in there Grin

Brodicea · 19/09/2013 16:18

Ooer Merk - good luck for later! It would be pretty embarrassing if come to the labour, you just emitted a long fart rather than a baby - but I reckon it's pretty real!
