Anyone due October 2004?

Feel very nervous writing this. But I'm in my bold "sod the doctor" mood. Anyone joining me?

Eyelash? (after all, I consider it to be you who got me here in the first place )

Anyone else?

OK, had an early scan done yesterday and I am officially 10wks pregnant, due on 15 October, so it's time to join this thread! Could see little bubba waving its arms around and moving around - very cute. As you might have guessed from other thread, I am however extremely sick and have actually lost over half a stone since the beginning of this pregnancy. So envious of those of you who are able to eat without throwing up....

Me too Eyelash, with both the stone overweight and the walking starting soon (although maybe not tomorrow )
Congratulations Florence UK!!!

Thanks to everyone who has asked about me I am afraid it is not good news lost the baby at eight weeks and have been ill as well with a bad cold so all in all not a good time. Doctor is going to do a blood test to check my blood just incase the miscarriages are down to that. I will let you know what the outcome is. Good luck to everyone and I have been grateful for the support I have got from this thread. Thanks and hope to be on again with good news soon.
Love Diddums xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Diddums - so sorry about the loss of your baby. I have replied to you on the other thread and if you need to talk, vent anger etc there are plenty of mums on mumsnet who have experienced miscarriages. Please take care of yourself at this distressing time.

I feel bad asking this question but I feel like my aches and pains are getting worse by the day. I have read that sore boobs are normal but I am getting sharp shooting pains up one side? Not sure if this is streching pain or something else? between the morning sickness, leg cramps, head aches and nose bleeds, I don't know what is worse? I keep thinking this will all disappear after 12 weeks. Wishful thinking I think!

Diddums, that's really sad. I send you every best wish for getting through this to a happy outcome soon.

Turtle35, I remember sharp, almost electric shock pains in my breasts first time round. Short lived though. Maybe someone else will be able to shed some light. Poor you, it does sound like you're going through the wars.

Harman, I can really relate to you also. I can't fit into my jeans anymore but splashed out and bought a VERY compfy pair, Earl Jeans, they strech as you do and will last through out the pregnnacy, I live in them now. I could of killed my DH this w/e when he said "you've been so miserable so far, I thought you would be happy about being pregnant"!! I could of strangled him but burst into tears instead, my hormones are completely out of control, we have been trying to get prgnt for over a year and I am so happy it's finally happend but feel like a complete lunatic most of the time. I don't think my DH was expecting such mood swings but I have now given him plenty of books to read so he can see it in black and white!! It's not just me.

By the way Harman, try and stay positive that it WILL pass and get easier, I am sure of it. Why is your scan so late?

maybe a silly question but does anyone know if using hair removal cream is dangerous? the hair on my upper lip is getting out of control!!!!!!

Harman - a friend of mine who is a midwife said that many women in your situation (ie who don't have a booking scan at 12 weeks) go to their local EPU saying that they have had a bleed and are given a scan for reassurance. I know it's not exactly the most ethical thing to do but if it gets you a scan and reassurance perhaps it's worth considering.

I would echo piglit on that one, have to say, those few weeks (while we are not at the kicking, or other obvious sigs stage) can feel very long. 17 weeks does seem an incredibly long time to have to wait.

Diddums, I too am so sorry, please take care of yourself.

Have been feeling pretty hormonal myself, but also we had the funeral yesterday for my sil's baby daughter, so we have all been a bit tearful lately, has to be said. Am also not sleeping very well at all - is anyone else having this? If I ask anyone they just seem to say "ha, well, that's mother nature preparing you for the lack of sleep to come", which really helps.... (sorry, obviously a bit grumpy in my tiredness!)

beansprout - I fall asleep at 9pm (no matter what I'm doing!) and then lie awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night/early morning. Of course, when it's time to get up I'm like a zombie.

Piglit - Same here - early to bed and then awake for hours in the night! Is this a common pg thing? Sorry to hear you are having this too. Will be glad when I can announce myself and give some sort of explanation as to why I am constantly yawning in the faces of my work colleagues!!

Report
piglit · 23/03/2004 11:42

I am 12 weeks tomorrow(!) and I think I'll start telling people next week after my nuchal scan on Friday. I've been yawning like mad for what seems like ages. The guy I share an office with started yawning yesterday and he said "I think I've got what you've got". I could barely keep a straight face!

Report
beansprout · 23/03/2004 12:02

Am not going to go to the "how it would be if men were pg" place!! Hope he is supportive when you tell him, sounds like you work in close proximity.

Am 12 weeks on Friday, with booking appt on Thurs. After all this waiting, I'm not sure if I will be shouting from any roof tops, as am feeling wary of the pg police and the "public property" bit. May actually start a newby strand on this one! That said, I am feeling very, very relieved and happy to have (finally) got to this stage.

Couldn't agree more beansprout. 12 weeks seems like such a milestone. I think I'll have some cake to celebrate...

Report
beansprout · 23/03/2004 15:35

Piglit - hope that bit of cake was good, am polishing off some Maltesers myself and am chuffed to bits as my sickness just seems to be getting that bit better - the worst is over!!!

I started the other strand with both of us in mind. I increasingly feel I don't know what I am letting myself in for - eek!

Thanks for that beansprout!

My sickness seems to be getting better gradually - I hope that those long dark days of 24/7 nausea, retching and heartburn will soon be a distant memory. I do find it gets worse again if I get too tired. Any excuse to be in bed by 9 pm!

Harman, totally understand about tempting fate, am sure I would actually be the same, despite any advice I might give to the contrary! Hope the appointment goes well, sorry to hear you are feeling so rough. How many weeks are you now?

And welcome to FlorenceUK!! Congratulations (sorry, I meant to say that earlier!)

Bean sorry to hear about the funeral that must of been really tough.

Lucky ladies almost 12 weeks!! I am still only 9 but feel the next three weeks should go pretty quickly - to be honest the last 3 weeks has flown by. All of my work trousers are getting to tight around the waist and I am getting looks from colleagues in the tummy region, it's almost impossible to hide what looks like a 4 - 5 month bump - not 9 weeks. Maybe it's twins!!?? Would I know by now? A very good friend is now 19 weeks and I am jealous but she said the sickness was gone after 13 - 14 weeks so hang in there!
