I've had lots of nights like that Charley, so irritating!

I am 40+12 today Shock. After feeling weird yesterday nothing happened. Am booked in for induction tomorrow, and think I'll need it. The first stage is a tampon like thing and then go home for 24 hours. Hope it works.

That's a cruel trick the body plays charlystar

rollermum you'll have some news for us soon then!!!

Just come out of my mw appt. When I asked whether she would be doing a sweep, she said 'i don't do anything so yucky' weird??? Back again in a week...

Report
Charlystar · 18/09/2013 13:07

Fingers crossed rollermum

fastwindow haha that is weird, it seems to be the norm to have a sweep or 2 or 3 if u are overdue. An actual induction by 2weeks od is the last resort.

Im due to have a sweep tomorrow. I feel my body is gearing up towards labour so hoping it just needs that little encouragement.

What?! That is a weird and borderline inappropriate comment from your midwife FastWindow! Did she give any info on when / who / if you might get one?

How many weeks are you?

Rollermum · 18/09/2013 13:11

X posted - good luck with the sweep!

Well my daughter DID follow the same pattern as her brother! She arrived at 9:58am after a 4 (!) hour labour weighing in at 7lbs 4ozs. Smile

Congratulations, beautiful name. My turn next please ?! ....

FastWindow · 18/09/2013 16:10

Congrats flump!!! Love love love the name. Makes me think of frilly socks and patent shoes (like I wore in the seventies) can I have the same labour please powers that be?!! Pretty please!

rollermum 40+1. She made it sound like is have to go the hospital for that. I'm in Berkshire. I know different areas have different policies but really???

She seemed convinced it would come in the next week naturally. Happy with that. Also told me it was 7-8 lbs and that a bigger baby after a 3d year seafood thing as they come out slower. Hope so!!

fastwindow its still v odd that a midwife has the attitude of it being 'yuky' when im pretty sure she has to do more 'yukier' things in her job than a sweep.

As i said my sweep is tomorrow at my local GP surgery and im in Stafford. If the midwives working for Stafford General Hospital are willing to do them, then im sure they are elsewhere..... (Assuming u all know SGH reputation by now)

Congratulations Flump.

Good luck for today Rollermum!

Still here, I think the evening primrose oil tricked me into losing my plug. I've just had acupuncture and am waiting for my next sweep, hoping that will kickstart things for later!

I've seen this thread a few times and completely dismissed it as it wasn't relevant to me... just realised that now it is!

38+4 today. Or 39+4 according to my dates. Tick tock, tick tock.

Hi juniper

Welcome along. Your first dc or are you cool calm and experienced? Smile

40+3... Anyone still around? I've been getting some tmi discharge but nothing spectacular. More like ovulation than anything.
Asda today it is, but I might just wear a pad... Just in case...

Report
CruCru · 20/09/2013 08:55

Hey Fast. I am still around (37+3 so not that surprising). Not much to report.

Hello!

So I had no symptoms before labour started. Bloody show came away whilst pushing and the midwife had to pop my waters. So, don't be too disheartened if nothing appears to be happening. I was 9cm before I even realised I was in labour! Grin

I'm due on Tuesday 24th and very scared if I don't go alone I'm being induced on Thursday eecckk

Report
juniper9 · 20/09/2013 20:11

I've noticed a change in the last week or two- suddenly started getting heavier discharge and lots of pains and 'oophs'. Also, bump dropped so that's caused hip problems and back aches.

I keep trying to tell DP to be on high alert; he panics for about ten minutes but then forgets and asks me to help lay the underlay which I did

beck that's pretty soon after your due date? My mw won't even do a sweep and told me to make an appt next weds when I'll be 40+8.
Have they given you any reason why they are inducing so soon?

Report
FastWindow · 20/09/2013 20:27

God yes juniper the backache. I've got a six minute walk to preschool and had to stop and lean on a railing halfway there. Felt like I was going to snap in two. Plus all my big maternity clothes are geared towards high summer and the warm stuff I have a limited choice of makes me look like I got dressed in the dark. Yummy mummy, not so much. Rocking bag lady though.

Hi. I know I'm joining this thread really far into it but I'm due on 22nd Sep! Been feeling quite head achy and a bit queasy today, no idea if that means anything. Had my daughter's 2nd birthday yesterday so glad that's passed now - baby welcome any time now...
