Baby is back to back too......

Going to have some Paracetemol now. Tried lying on the couch in the hope of getting some rest, but back's too achy. So tired Hmm

Can't hold out on the bath much longer, so think that's the next step. Might try and find something good to watch on catch up when I come back down. Doesn't help that I'm not normally a TV watching type.

Air - all fours is meant to take the pressure of back to back.

38wks so not strictly due any day, but midwife says baby is very low in pelvis now & could arrive any day. She doesn't expect me to make my next appt with her.
Had pains for weeks now & tired of thinking 'is this it?' But last few days pains (especially shooting down or across my flu) have become a lot sharper.
Hubby keeps feeding me spicy food & suggesting dtd, he's so impatient lol.

welcome "newbies"!

just to clarify I'm not pg, but have kids - so I was giving some advice and lots of encouragement on previous thread.

and now I'm stuckGrin

I'll read back properly tomorrow - till then all the best, rest, keep hydrated and soak up these last few days before your baby is born.

especially if you are a first time mum - right now you can't imagine what it will be like to hold your baby.
but when s/he is finally here, you'll look back and wonder what it was like before they were born.
your mind will boggle, I tell ya!Wink

have a good night.

I'm due on Tuesday . Can I ask those of you who have had sweeps how painful they are honestly?

Report
thekatsatonthematt · 03/08/2013 23:39

40+2 with dc2. No signs as yet. DS was born 40+2. So I'm officially more pregnant than I've ever been!

Seeing mw on Thursday for sweep if I want it. Hadn't really thought about it as last time my waters broke.

Very bored of family asking if I'm in labour yet (particularly when they are stood in front of me and I clearly am not!)

Report
ZingWidge · 03/08/2013 23:45

honestly some find them painful, but I think most people find it uncomfortable. if it's done well and successfully you might feel a bit sore during or after and you might bleed a little bit.

it's probably as uncomfortable as someone pulling on your tongue gently. a bit worse than having a cervical smear
you might feel a pinch.

it's all good though.

Soontobe, my first sweep with ds1 was painful. I shed a tear.

I hAd a sweep on Thursday but it wasn't that bad. More uncomfortable than anything.

Maybe it had something to do with knowing what to expect. I hadn't even considered it would hurt first time around.

I'm in bed hooked up to a TENS machine. Contractions have slowed right down again - once per half hour just now. Can't sleep through them but trying to sleep between them to get as much rest as possible. Any tips for sleeping in early labour anyone?

Hi all just checking in! I had a baby girl on Thursday 1st at 8am. She's healthy and gorgeous. Am finally home after losing a while load of blood and having an awful labour. She was worth it though.

How's everyone? Not had a chance to read the thread so don't know what's been going on.

Quick question for non first time mums...if your room is 25 degrees, what would you dress baby in at night?

Hi reebok - huge congrats!

My ds2 is sleeping in an all in one without vest and then swaddled in a muslin. Slightly cooler here and he freaks if not all limbs are covered though Grin.

Xxx

Congrats reebok. Sounds like a tough ride but you did it! Fab!

The general rule of thumb is one layer more than you are wearing. 25 degrees at night; either a vest or sleep suit and swaddle in a muslin. Hope that helps.

CONGRATULATIONS!
well done both of you, yay!

reebok, I was worried that something wasn't right. sorry you lost a lot of blood. try taking Solgar's Gentle Iron tablets to "build up" your blood.

did either of you get an epidural?

Congrats ReebokThanks

Mine stopped too air. Managed to get some sleep though, which was good. Floods of tears this morning. Not really sure why, felt massively panicked and suddenly terrified of needing a CS etc. Confused

Girls, I'm sorry I haven't updated sooner! After posting on Monday I was induced and after long and emotional labour (which went nothing like my birth plan) I've had my beautiful baby girl Isla on Tuesday 30 July. She was 8 lbs :D Ended up having forceps delivery, lost over 1 litre of blood but Isla is perfectly healthy and gorgeous so it was all worth it!!!
She's currently napping next to me as I type this.

Congratulations to all of you who had your babies already and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for those still waiting.

Just wanted to say thank you [thank you] so much for your support - I loved coming over to this thread and reading your updates!

xoxo!

Congratulations Reebok soursweets and marushka82

I hope you're all feeling as well as you can.

Zing I think this thread could keep going and going and you'll continue to be needed to give advice to the newest influx of new due-ees!

It's my dd's 2nd birthday party today... I've been getting some twinges this am but nothing to make me think baby's actually coming. It's her actual birthday tomorrow, I wonder if they'll end up sharing the day?

Sorry you feel bad air, yes, talk to us, we understand the frustration.

beans and thy and air, even if things stop and start, your body is still getting closer to pushing that baby out!

beano I know, I've realized that....Grin
but I'm happy to help. in RL I shy away from giving advice (unless asked). I don't go to baby groups either - as soon as people find out I have 6 kids they either ask stupid boring questions (like how much shopping I do - that's not a fun, bonding subject!) or close off as they might think I'm a know-it-all or that they bore me. not fun...

but here I can give as much advice as needed without wondering "do they think I'm showing off", and if anything I say is useful I'm glad! Smile

marushkaaaaaaaaaa

CONGRATULATIONS! well done! very similar to my first birth, I hope you will recover soon!

When DS1 was 3 weeks old I took him to my osteopath for a cranial check up - any damage by the foreceps can be detected and corrected.
DS1 had no damage at all, MW did a fab job, but I'm glad we checked him out.

beautiful name as well, give her a cuddle from me please! X
