Hey all! 40+10 today - wasn't expecting that!!

Hi Crucru having a date to focus on and being calm sounds like a good plan to me.

Chocolate is a trigger for me - but only for heartburn. Bah!

No plans today except reading and pottering. Have a nice one all Smile

Quick update 41+6 today and felt slight trickle of water down my leg this morning. Went to hospital and they think my waters might be leaking so have booked me in for induction tomorrow. So disappointed as was hoping waters breaking would mean contractions would start but nothing :-(

Will update you on the other side and good luck to everyone still waiting!!

Report
CruCru · 16/09/2013 21:14

You could already be having mild contractions and not feel them (happened to me early on when I was induced). In any case, it may be that your contractions come on quite fast at this point.

Hey Hopeful, sorry you're disappointed. Crucru is right though - when I went in for my itching check the machine showed 'tightenings' that I couldn't feel.

Best of luck, will be thinking of you!

Morning everyone, still with us? It's my due date today!

Report
CruCru · 17/09/2013 08:48

Awesome LadyF. Try and get lots of rest and drink plenty of water - you don't want to be dehydrated when you go into labour.

Morning all! Hope your due date isn't too far off the mark LadyF.

I woke up with an urge to dust the houseplants (all two of them). Hoping its a sign!

I've had a few more intense tightenings this morning but nothing with any pattern to it. Not reading anything into it yet though!

FastWindow - you still here? It's your due date as well I believe?

Morning everyone, yes flump due today. I have felt nothing whatsoever, I might as well be 36 weeks for all the different i feel from then. Refusing to let it get me down though!

I'm just waiting for the flood of texts from well meaning family and friends...

FastWindow · 17/09/2013 10:52

rollermum it must be. Who dusts plants?!!

I do it seems! It gives them a growth spurt Grin. I also have a really weird stomach, hungry but not sure what to eat. Hoping it is going somewhere...but refusing to get excited this time.

rollermum i know what you mean, I'm sat here with some fruit and nut but it isn't what I want.
How about eating something slow release like pasta or shreddies just in case you are going to need the energy sooner rather than later!!

Report
CruCru · 17/09/2013 14:53

Eat something easy to digest. If you do go into labour, you may puke.

Hi all again. Oooo Rollermum I hope things are progressing nicely for you and you're starting to contract.

Well, I went to the consultant appointment last week about having a big baby and he wasn't concerned at all as I'd previously had a big one (9lb7). He did say I could have early sweeps though to kickstart labour.

So yesterday I had some acupuncture (my hospital offers it) and then not long after I had a sweep. Midwife said I was partially effaced and 1cm dilated. Does that mean it could be soon or still weeks away? I'm 39+2 today.

Had some cramps after the sweep but all died down shortly after. Decided to try putting an evening primrose oil capsule internally last night and have just now started to lose my plug. Well I think it is anyway. Like a huge blob of snot (TMI). Anyway, I have another sweep Thursday along with acupuncture again plus it's a full moon too. So fingers crossed a few of us might get our babies then?

Thanks for the food advice Fast and Crucru! I went for cornflakes which I've been obsessed with this last trimester.

Mummra - ooh, sounds like positive things are happening! Amazing the hospital offer acupuncture.

After cleaning and having a nap everything feels normal again. Bah. Am watching One Born Every Minute which is poss a bad idea.

FastWindow · 17/09/2013 16:48

I'm slightly disappointed in my absolute lack of desire to clean anything. Especially as some things need cleaning.
I've got a mw appt tomorrow at one so I'm hoping she will suggest a sweep there and then.
Did a bit of reading up on evening primrose oil up the fanjo. It seems it may well loosen the plug but a) this may not lead to labour and b) the plug just reforms which is why you can lose plug over days and days. Bah.

I've had some nasty tightenings today. Definitely sit up and take notice ones. If I follow the same pattern as last time then I will be cuddling my little girl tomorrow. Smile That's not likely though!

TMI warning.

I did think my waters had gone earlier but on closer inspection of the pad I think it was a case of pregnancy bladder instead Grin Sad

Hey mums to be... Soon. Im 40+1 now. What are you all upto while waiting for baby? Mostly lazying about in the house or up and keeping busy, cleaning etc?

Im mainly lying on the bed trying to keep myself occupied with a book or on the laptop.

Is it best to be resting or maybe best to be up and about encouraging baby with gravity? ?

What do you think?

Xx

Hey CharleyStar I'm mostly sitting on the sofa yelling at running around after a very mischievous nearly 3 year old!

If I wasn't busy with him I'd be sleeping I think.

Awww at least its a distraction. Im fed up of only having one thought on my mind at the moment, this is my first so no such worthy distraction.

I cant help feel that im making my labour come on later rather than sooner due to lying about too much.

Although i do occasionally bounce on the gym ball but this hasnt helped yet.

Go for short walks if you want but don't exhaust yourself. Active labour is very hard work - you don't want to go in tired and depressed from doing loads of jobs.

If you have one, sit on a yoga ball and watch some telly.

Labour will start one way or another... Sooner or later

FastWindow - interesting about the EPO thing.

Flump - hope it is the same pattern and you'll have the baby soon. No worries on the TMI sounds q common.

Charly - I've been alternating sleeping and resting with periods of scrubbing / cleaning and tried to walk 1-2 miles a day. Not sure any of it helps tbh! When I feel tired I always sleep though, because some nights I just can't drop off for hours.

Charlystar · 18/09/2013 09:55

Ive just had one of those nights where i just cant sleep. Woke up at 1am and eventually fell asleep again at 5.30am. I knew this would happen if i became overdue, which i am by only 2days now. My mind just wont relax till he arrives now.
