Oh flump!

Mmm... Hospital turkey roast. Sad

Hopeful2013 · 12/09/2013 21:04

Hey everyone,

Wow Rollermum can't believe they come to your home to do sweep!!
Belle I would definitely count pineapple pizza :-)

Lady Flumpalot what do contractions actually feel like? Don't think I've even had any BH :-(

Poppety how's your spd?

Fast window wish I could muster up to Dtd but feels so good itching my rash can't concentrate on anything else and DH didn't fancy scratching as a form of foreplay haha! Dodgy tum sounds like a good sign of something happening.

Went to midwife today, third unsuccessful sweep, cervix still closed for business :-( fourth attempt Monday before induction Tuesday. Trying to stay positive but generally can't see anything changing over the next four days. Hopefully some of you will go into labour soon to give me hope there is light at the end of this tunnel :-) so impatient to have a cuddle with my baby now!

Hopeful2013 · 12/09/2013 21:06

Ps sympathy for you Lady Flumpalot Xmas day in labour!!

LadyFlumpalot · 12/09/2013 21:10

Hopeful - I can't actually remember what full blown labour pains feel like byt I do remember thinking that I qoils never complain about period pain again. You'll know it.

mrspaddy · 12/09/2013 21:10

Well girls... How are wall this evening. I treated myself today to a air cut, tan and brow tint Smile

Makes a change from cleaning. My friend recommended clary sage to me.. Don't know if I will bother..

LadyFlumpalot · 12/09/2013 21:12

I didn't even get hospital roast. It was 5 or 6pm before they put me back on the ward and deposited a pack containing an apple, a bag of crispsmamd a cheese sandwich on my bed.
I hate cheese but I was that hungry I ate it.

FastWindow · 12/09/2013 22:16

flump that's so sad. A school packed lunch.

belle sainsburys at ten pm, why?

hopeful sorry to hear about the closed shop. Induction isn't the funnest thing ever tbh, but at least you know that things are finally happening. My 2p on the contractions is everyone is different, yes you will know it when it starts, but it could be in your back, front or like me in your undercarriage only.

I might lay off on dtd though. With that and SPD, I feel like I've been horse riding. On an unbroken lunatic.

FastWindow · 12/09/2013 22:20

mrspaddy what does clary sage do?

Are you married to an oirishman as well? Smile

BelleEtLaBaby · 12/09/2013 23:08

I wanted a walk, but it was spitting with rain, and I also needed batteries for my tens machine, so once DS was dropped off we drove to the massive Sainsburys. It made sense at the time, ha ha :)

Creamtea1 · 13/09/2013 08:48

Hi ladies, joining after lurking for 2 weeks or more!
Am I allowed - am 41+1 by my dates or 40+5 by scan.
Massively FED UP! have tried everything. Have been in what I think is false/pre labour every late afternoon and evening for 2 weeks, but then I go to bed at night and wake up in the morning back to nothing. I was induced with both of my other pregnancies so don't know really what to expect. Sweep on Monday, induction on Friday if still no baby.

FastWindow · 13/09/2013 10:30

Welcome creamtea sounds like a bit of a roller coaster... Hopes up and down...

I'm now 39+4 but had my ds at 36+3 so I kind of felt overdue for three weeks now iykwim!

rollermum how are you today?

Rollermum · 13/09/2013 11:01

Hey all, welcome CreamTea!

Feeling meh today - just as CreamTea says you feel like something is happening and then wake up and it's h

Rollermum · 13/09/2013 11:04

Sorry...

Wake up and it's gone! Frustrating. I have been waking up with bad heartburn in the night, but also a headache last night. Genuinely thinking it won't ever happen. Kind of looking forward to my sweep tomorrow! Didn't think I'd be saying that. Am 41 weeks today.

Good luck everyone and thank goodness for this thread!

wispa31 · 13/09/2013 14:18

Can i be in this gang now? Currently 40+9 with induction looming on mon :( thoroughly fed up. Cried in car whole way home y,day from hosp appt with dp. Totally freaked when doc told me i would be in overnight for induction. Dp has told me he will sleep in waiting room or the car if needs be bless him.

Rollermum · 13/09/2013 14:34

Aw, Wispa so sorry to hear that. Crying at this point is perfectly understandable. Why is the induction overnight? My little pamphlet says I'll be sent home (am booked for thurs). Bless your DH, he sounds lovely.

wispa31 · 13/09/2013 15:31

Roller that's what I was hoping myself but when I said to doc I didn't want to be kept in she said as I'd be given meds they would keep me in. I never sleep when in hospital and definitely not now when I can't sleep in my own tranquil house!
Trying to stay positive and remind myself I will Be meeting baby very soon but induction is a fucking sore point and hoping I go into Labour myself before Monday. God I fucking hate being prego

Rollermum · 13/09/2013 15:49

Good luck, really hope it happens for you this weekend.

Steffnexis9 · 13/09/2013 16:05

Hey people...

Im 38.5 and my seond baby... First by c section so i will be getting a sweep on sunday... Thought stuff might be happening tne last day or so as had really ba back and pains but i tnk i just hurt my back lol...

Hoping i get to see my baby soon as i am very impatient and cant walk much because everything hurts lol

FastWindow · 13/09/2013 17:08

Hi steff

Forgive my ignorance but are the c section and early sweep connected?
My midwife hasn't mentioned anything about sweeps to me (mind you she seems to want to keep me in the dark anyway, it's weird)

Rollermum · 13/09/2013 17:16

Hi Steff I hear you on the impatience! I'm
actually looking forward to the sweep tomorrow! Kinda...

FastWindow my MW only brought it up at my week 40 appointment when I was actually 40+4, so hopefully she'll mention it next time.

wispa31 · 13/09/2013 17:32

Sweep for me tmw when i go in for monitoring. Hoping to hear that things have progressed since wednesdays sweep and hoping this one works! Never thought it would be this stressy waiting! You ladies also in waiting have my sympathies!

4boysthatilove · 13/09/2013 20:37

Hi, I had my baby at exactly 41 weeks, he was born on Monday 9th Sept just before midnight after a long and drawn out induction, due to my age. I am an ancient 46 - baby complete surprise as we already have 4 children, and we only found out he was on board at 22 weeks! The induction was everything I dreaded and more, and finished off with a PPH - not saying anymore as its not pleasant and don't want to scare anyone. Anyway, main thing is he is fine - he was a good size - 8lb 13oz and thankfully I am too. Ignore anyone who tells you subsequent labours get quicker LOL - my 4th baby 4 years ago was a 4hr labour and even at the start of the induction I was being told to expect it all done within 2 hours - ha ha, 16 hours later (10 of which were on the dreaded drip!) he was finally born. Very worth it and yes, if I could, I would go through it all again, but won't be greedy, 5 boys is more than enough. Guess I had better change my user name now ;) xx Good luck to all the other imminent ladies :)

FastWindow · 13/09/2013 21:04

Well I look forward to hearing all your experiences with sweeps. Have heard various good and bad things. So they really just pop a finger up there and rummage? Sounds like a job for DH

Hopeful2013 · 13/09/2013 22:21

Hey Everyone,

Hope you're all well and maybe some of you may be on your to labour?

Lady Flumpalot I'm shocked you didn't get a Xmas roast, that's outrageous!!

Welcome Creamtea wow induced twice, I hope that this time will happen naturally for you, what was being induced like?

Rollermum totally understand the fact your looking forward to your sweep tomorrow, I've got all my fingers crossed that it kick starts things for you :-)

Wispa totally feel your pain, was so scared abou the thought of induction bu the lady at the tescos checkout put my mind a bit at rest saying she was induced and had her little one in 2 hours!! I hear you about not wanting to stay in hospital alone, I was horrified when I found out they sent your partner home if you hav to stay in after you give birth!! What century are we livng in?? I thought the men were meant to share the experience and be hands on bu clearly only n visiting hours in the nhs eyes!! Rant over... Good luck with your sweep tomorrow!

4boys many congratulations on your 5th boy!! Labour sound horrendous but lad you are both safe and well :-) what a surprise to ind out a 22 weeks!!

Fastwindow have you got a sweep booked? Yep fingers go up and have a rummage about, uncomfortable (as most things are when strangers have their fingers in intimate places) but I didn't find it painful.

Bit fed up today, 41+3 and bored of spending every night not sleeping and itching my horrible puppp rash :-( it's now nearly covered my entire body and I am just crossing all my fingers that it will go away as soon as the baby is born! Started telling everyone we will be doing radio silence from Monday night as not sure how long induction will take.

Had a random lady I've met twice before come and knock on my door as she said she heard a baby crying... My friends baby. FFS she only saw me two days ago, even if it was my baby what did she think I would do, let her in for a cuddle??!! Sorry rant over....

Wishing you all lots of contractions and waters breaking over he weekend...

Rollermum · 14/09/2013 09:30

Hey all, trying to keep a Smile on my face after a bad night! The itching was practically gone but I woke up at 3am and couldn't sleep til 5.30. This happens more and more now. I had heartburn and a bad headache, which has now gone thank goodness. Will tell MW though when I see her later for the sweep.

4Boys wow! Congrats on your 5th boy!

FastWindow will update re sweep. I believe it is just a rummage yes!

Hopeful who is this random woman?! Sorry to hear rash is worse.
