Congrats gerty love the name!!

FastWindow · 11/09/2013 15:42

poppetty and hopeful hi!!

Yes it is a bit weird to be second time round and still have no clue what to expect. I'm a bit scared of having very painful contractions whilst still at home and no access to gas and air, and we are a good half hour away from the hospital....

I'm hoping to avoid the pineapple scenario. Never mind tongue burn, it makes my hands itch. Dtd all the way!!!

Rollermum · 11/09/2013 19:30

Rollermum · 11/09/2013 19:33

Sorry!

Was saying Ina May Gaskin's book was very calming influence on me - has lots of positive birthing stories.

Well no sweep for me - they don't do it in appointments round here - MW is coming to my house (!) on Saturday. I was surprised but hopefully it'll be more relaxing... Not sure what the thinking is.

Also I have an induction date: 19th. Hopefully wont have to use it.

How is everyone doing? Any more amazing feats of pineapple eating?

Rollermum · 11/09/2013 19:35

Also meant to say - blood tests for OC are clear. Just need to drink more water and gently brush skin to help liver out.

BelleEtLaBaby · 11/09/2013 19:43

I had a Hawaiian pizza last night - reckon that counts? ;)

BelleEtLaBaby · 11/09/2013 19:43

Ps glad your OC was negative :)

LadyFlumpalot · 11/09/2013 19:46

39+1 here! I'm a second timer and I have no idea what to expect either! I had no symptoms at all last time, thwn slept right through the latent phase! Woke up in the early hours with a bang when my waters went and the contractions ramped right up.

Unlike this time. Have been having random spurts of contractions for about a fortnight now. It's getting annoying.

Rollermum · 11/09/2013 20:51

Belle that totally counts! Thanks, am relieved re the test...but still itchy Sad

Hey LadyFlumpalot that sounds like a great latent phase!! are your random contractions painful? I've been having more the last 24 hrs but as sporadic they must be BH? I still get confused...

LadyFlumpalot · 11/09/2013 21:12

Sometimes they are painful, sometimes not. Yesterday I had an attack of them for about two hours and they HURT. Made me double over. Then it all stopped. Nothing but strong painless BH today. Sad

Tempted to spend 10 minutes on the toddlers trampoline! Grin

FastWindow · 11/09/2013 21:30

I might have to include my pineapple in a non alcoholic pina colada.
I also bought some bananas today to help with the restless legs, which is keeping me awake more than ds ever has!
Rollermum pleased to hear your good news.
Flump, glad I'm not alone!!

FastWindow · 12/09/2013 09:17

Very quiet this morning... Dare we hope this means baby news?!!

On a personal and tmi front, I have gone from constipation so bad I thought I was never going to go again, to the complete opposite. It's a sign!! Isn't it??

Rollermum · 12/09/2013 10:31

Hey all - no news here. Just, like Lady Flumpalot lots of BH.

FastWindow yep could be! Though I've had that on and off for a few weeks...

FastWindow · 12/09/2013 10:54

Hi roller. Yep I'm getting BH but have been for weeks as well (now I know what they are!)

Was just telling my sister about the restless legs and how well the banana worked to stop that... And made a big old connection between fairly green banana (the way I like em) and the loose tummy... Bah.

Rollermum · 12/09/2013 11:19

Oh sympathies! I was kind of like 'it's happening' a few weeks ago because had sudden stomach emptying. But then DH had it too. Bah!

40+6 today and twinges vanished. Just want to sleep.

FastWindow · 12/09/2013 11:29

It's amazing how long 24 hours can be isn't it? Every morning I wake up surprised I am still in my own bed.

Is this your first Rollermum? I haven't searched the thread sorry!

BelleEtLaBaby · 12/09/2013 12:20

My false alarm the day before my EDD has definitely made this worse. I am not good at waiting at the best of times but it seems worse because I had regular mild contractions all day on the 5th. We really thought it was happening, DS1 went to GP's, DH and I wandered round Sainsburys at 10pm all gooey eyed and 'we're going to meet our baby' and then... Not a peep. So we geared ourselves up and now nothing.

Got the consultant on tues - I'll be 41+4 by then (if I get that far) and I'm literally willing myself not to make it.

BelleEtLaBaby · 12/09/2013 12:20

Ps Rollermum exactly the same dates and same - twinges seem to have vanished now. Aargh.

Race you? ;)

LadyFlumpalot · 12/09/2013 12:27

Oooft. I can feel every slight movement against my cervix this morning. Horrible. I'm nesting hard as well. I never clean, hate it, and I have just found myself with my head in the dishwasher scrubbing it!

BelleEtLaBaby · 12/09/2013 12:36

I caught myself bleaching the back door two days ago. Weird - we've just had the whole house replastered so there are loads of cleaning jobs to do - so why I felt the need to scrub my back door clean I will never know. And I didn't even go into labour :D

Rollermum · 12/09/2013 13:15

Belle you're on! I haven't been too weird with the nesting - though we moved house a month ago so hard to tell what's normal. At least you have a lovely clean door; and dishwasher Flump.

Yes, this is my first baby FastWindow. I know exactly what you mean - I am baffled nothing has happened each morning.

I rashly booked a haircut for this afternoon. Haven't had it cut for months for various reasons - nausea, fatigue, flu whilst 3 months preg (that was fun). That's ok right?! Is only 11 mins walk away...

FastWindow · 12/09/2013 14:25

The nesting is a big symptom I think? I tried but the SPD put paid to that. So my friend nested for me, I have a lovely hoovered home now! Cue lying on sofa eating chocolate and watching buggy and charmed.

I did the haircut thing last week!! More so I didn't look a wreck in the delivery suite (again) damn you, frizz. I'm all for booking things to do, to try and sort of bring on the event when is inconvenient iykwim?

FastWindow · 12/09/2013 14:26

Buffy... Doh.

LadyFlumpalot · 12/09/2013 14:36

FastWindow - I know exactly what you mean. DS came exactly on his due date and I'm convinced it was because his due date was the most inconvenient date in the whole year. Xmas Day!

is never having sex in March again. Ever. Not even with protection
