Morning everyone!

ARGH! My mother is doing my head in. She texted at 7:30am.saying "we are thinking of going out for the day - need to know if you have any signs of labour?"

I replied with "no signs of labour but plenty of signs of being pissed off by being woken up on my only day with a chance of a lie in. I'M NOT DUE YET AND WILL LET YOU KNOW!!!"

Possibly a tadge grumpy, but honestly, they are going to be 20 minutes away. Maximum.

FastWindow · 14/09/2013 11:23

Morning everyone,

I have a mw appt on weds when I will be 40+1. I'll definitely ask about a sweep.

Sorry to hear about your bad night roller, I empathise, I've had a headache since yesterday afternoon. Can't shake it. Grr.

Flump! My mum doesn't text in the morning as she doesn't get up till midday. But around 5pm i get a singleword text. 'anything?' for a week straight now...

FastWindow · 14/09/2013 11:31

Hey, has anyone tried inserting evening primrose capsules? Read a thread on childbirth section that sounded promising.. Anyone know if this is recommended or not?

Kilkers · 14/09/2013 12:15

It's amazing how so many close friends and family seem to think we won't tell them when labour starts!

FastWindow, I've just taken my first EPO capsule (orally!). I plan on swallowing 2 a day and inserting one up my fanjo before bedtime! Like so many things the effects are unproven but there are some compelling stories out there. My baby is currently only 1/5 engaged so I figure it can't hurt as it's supposed to help soften the cervix and help the baby drop.

I'll let you know if anything exciting happens!

FastWindow · 14/09/2013 13:41

Hey kilkers!

Yes, please do update!! And don't forget to wear a pad.. By all accounts is a bit messy in the morning!!

Look forward to hearing that you went into super easy labour and took two hours like the lady in the thread I heard about epo on... She also claimed no tearing. I'm especially keen not to repeat my 3rd degree...

FastWindow · 14/09/2013 13:48

One of my friends has just fallen into the classic advice category... Whatsapped me with ways to bring it on.. Curry, pineapple, dtd, nipple stimulation...

The bed sheets will need a wash after all that.

Rollermum · 14/09/2013 14:53

Hey all - wow EPO sounds amazing! I asked MW about it and didn't specify oral or not but she said is sort of thing you'd need to be taking for weeks. Anyway, am interested to hear how it goes Kilkers.

Had epic sweep fail and feeling a bit low about it. I found it too painful to go through with Sad, but before I scare anyone I think it was because I am not really dilated or effaced at all. MW thinks the induction on thurs is v much needed. I had such lovely water birth hypno plans that to be looking at induction is a big disappointment and I'm quite teary. DH is looking after me though.

FastWindow · 14/09/2013 15:10

Disappointing roller!
But I don't see why you can't labour in the pool even if you are induced? Have they said you can't?

I've been having the odd stabby pain in my fanjo for the last hour or two. Nothing to phone home about, but quite sharp and surprising. And baby is zumbaing like crazy today, normally he or she is fast asleep all day.

Steffnexis9 · 14/09/2013 17:40

Fastwindow...

My doctor feels that he would rather get me moving early as he doesnt want to induce because of previous c section being a concernn for scar rupture... Im not convinced but been looking forward to tomorrow for ages lol ill be gutted if im not fapurable for a sweep lmao...

Rollermum...

Hope the sweep does something lol. Im looking forward to mine in a slightly freeked out soet of way so fingers crossed lol :)

Rollermum · 14/09/2013 18:59

FastWindow She said I could go with birthing pool if labour kicks off once waters broken. But she was quite open and said lots of people need the drip and I may well need an epidural for that, both of which rule out the pool. Ah well, I will see.

Steff Unfortunately sweep won't work as she couldn't get that far! No real opening to work with...

I'm going to spend next four days relaxing, doing some stuff to help bring on labour but not stress too much. I think I need to get calmer about possible induction.

Hope we have some more babies to report on this thread soon!

BelleEtLaBaby · 14/09/2013 19:05

Waaaaaaaah. That is all. :(

FastWindow · 14/09/2013 19:44

The way we are all doing it'll be the next thread!!

Any news anyone today? I think the next thread will be jam packed with babies! Nothing much happening here but feeling calmer... Though couldn't sleep til 3am.

FastWindow · 15/09/2013 12:10

Well, the only thing I can offer is that my sister who will be looking after my ds when I go to hospital is at a christening two hours drive away. So that might bring something on (you know, most inconvenient time and all)
I'm also going to go shopping. Maybe I can get free groceries for life in Morrisons hee hee.

BelleEtLaBaby · 15/09/2013 16:23

Hey - happy to say baby Stanley joined us at 5:51am after a seven hour labour :) He is 8lb 1oz and gorgeous :) :) :)

Rollermum · 15/09/2013 17:04

Congratulations Belle you won the race!! (Think we had same EDD). Aw, Stanley is a sweet name. Enjoy your cuddles Thanks

FastWindow · 15/09/2013 17:32

Congratulations belle! Hope everything went well. Welcome to the world Stanley!

CruCru · 15/09/2013 19:26

Hey all

I am 36+5 and feeling very round. I am being induced on 1 October (39 weeks) due to DS having had shoulder dystocia and my having gestational diabetes (last time and this time). Finding it much harder this time, partly because I have a giant boy to lug around.

CruCru · 15/09/2013 19:29

Congratulations on baby Stanley.

Re induction, the only reasons you wouldn't be able to be in a pool would be if there isn't one in the labour suite (for instance if you were going to be in the birthing centre if you weren't induced) or if you are going to have a drip in.

LadyFlumpalot · 16/09/2013 08:55

Congratulations Belle

Due date tomorrow! Am trying to maintain a state of zen.like calmness about it now whilst frantically rocking back and forth on an exercise ball

FastWindow · 16/09/2013 09:06

Hi crucru that doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun! You have a date to plan for, I guess your focus is on that!
flump snap. Minus the ball, due to spd (sob. ) trying to convince myself chocolate is a trigger.

LadyFlumpalot · 16/09/2013 09:31

I like the chocolate as a trigger idea FastWindow. Dya think that counts for ice cream as well. DH has a tub of Magnum ice cream that has exceeded the "been unopened in my freezer for a week" rule which automatically revokes his ownership of anything that I like eating. Grin

CruCru · 16/09/2013 10:25

Ah, it's not so bad. DS is fine and apart from a clicky shoulder got through unscathed.

Have to be honest and say I didn't find labour as bad as I thought it would be (perhaps I had heard too many horror stories) and I had what people think of as a hard labour.

This time should be easier. I'm planning to spend the next two weeks chilling out as much as I can.

FastWindow · 16/09/2013 11:39

flump yes definitely! Maybe baby will get the idea that it's too cold inside and outside would be much nicer. !!
