Hi Ladies,

Can I just ask how many cycles you had to go through until you got your BFPs??

Thanks in advance x x

first time... and I was also organised (sensible I'd call it!)... for 6 months before I cut out alcohol, cut down on caffeine, got fit, and just before started taking Folic Acid. Husband also cut down on alcohol (never drinks caffeine) and got fitter...

Third cycle for DS1, first cycle for DD and DS2.

Londongirl84 · 17/07/2013 20:53

For us I know that it I DTD within 2 days of coming off my menstrual cycle which lasts about 5 days, then I will get pregnant.

blondebaby111 · 17/07/2013 21:16

It took us 5 years and one failed ivf :( was just about to start ivf again when I got my BFP, now 14 weeks Grin

JiltedJohnsJulie · 17/07/2013 21:18

Pg 5 times. First night twice, one was my wedding night. 7 months was the longest. Never charted, preferred the other method of Wine and lots of shagging Grin

JiltedJohnsJulie · 17/07/2013 21:19

Oh congratulations blonde

Mamabear12 · 17/07/2013 21:25

Took first try both times...first time around I did not do anything, was an occasional smoker and drank a few times a week. Second time around, I took some vitamins, no longer smoking and still breastfeeding. I thought it might take longer, but got lucky. I know every pregnancy is different, so probably wont wait too long to try for baby 3! Just in case...bc u never know how long it could take.

mrspaddy · 17/07/2013 21:30

Just over a year.. stressful time.

suntodayplease · 17/07/2013 21:46

3 months with DD, 1st month each time thereafter (although 2 ended in MC) now very greatfully 29 weeks

blondebaby111 · 18/07/2013 08:42

Jiltedjohhsjulie, Thankyou, it really feels like a miracle, the last 3 years were tough but we never gave up and I was super healthy too, didn't smoke, took all the vitamins so I guess it was just one of those things x

EeyoreIsh · 18/07/2013 08:50

congrats blondebaby, I also got a bfp the month I was due to start ivf! It's a miracle when that happens Grin

blondebaby111 · 18/07/2013 09:40

Congrats to you too, I'd just started the downregging a few days before so we were shocked but so happy. Was u trying for a. Long time too?? Xx

neversleepagain · 18/07/2013 13:04

First cycle and twins. Both DP and I smoked (not anymore). We were both stunned and still are.

crazyhead · 18/07/2013 13:16

First cycle with first, one shag with second. I was surprised because I am mid 30s.

QuietNinjaTardis · 18/07/2013 13:32

Ds was conceived in cycle 3 and this pregnancy which is a girl, found out today took 10 cycles.

EeyoreIsh · 18/07/2013 13:38

blonde we'd been trying for two abs half years. We were told in Jan that it was highly unlikely I'd get pregnant naturally, and I didn't know it but was already pregnant! We lost that baby at 7 weeks. We were told by our fertility doctor we were still eligible for ivf as it was so unlikely we'd get pregnant without it. I was going to be on the short protocol so was waiting for af to arrive. No sign, did a test, bfp!

We were only supposed to have a 20% chance with ivf, so it's totally a miracle.

We haven't told family yet, they think we're holding off ivf because it's so stressful. I hope everything is ok at 12 week scan next week, and then share our news Smile

Ficidy · 18/07/2013 14:05

3 years, 1 iui and 2 ivfs. We got lucky on our second IVF last November. Currently 36 weeks and can't wait to meet the little one.

Plus3 · 18/07/2013 14:14

I know my cycle - it is absolutely every 28 days. Was pregnant with first cycle each time. 2 DC & one probable miscarriage (I say probable because I missed a cycle & when I POAS it was negative & period started the next day. my hormones afterwards were terrible)

I consider myself extremely lucky - I was 30 when I conceived DS and 32 with DD.

blondebaby111 · 18/07/2013 15:25

Eeyorish, that's great news. Good luck for your scan nxt week. I was terrified which I think. Is a natural feeling but all was well. Such lovely news for you, you must be so excited.
We had unexplainned infertility but the ivf clinic told me my egg reserve was low so I thought ivf was my only option xx

Solo · 18/07/2013 16:55

Eeyore that was my experience too. Exh and I both had fertility issues that meant there was little chance I'd conceive naturally...we were near the top of the IVF list, split up, met Ds's father, got pg very quickly which was amazing after 12 years of trying...best of luck to you!

HeyMicky · 18/07/2013 16:59

4 cycles. Didn't do an ovulation test till cycle 4 - had been out by four days. Once we tested we got pregnant straight away.
