A place to carry on chatting after a BFP and support each other through the stressful bits. I hope to see many new graduates appearing....

Ah bump I feel like tht too. Every morning I wake up and manically poke boobs to see if they still hurt.
I had a nightmare last night that I lost this one too. They hospital (in my nightmare) told me it was because the foetus had contracted pneumonia! Woke up hysterically crying which was lovely. That is just my paranoia isn't it, it doesn't mean bebby has gone again?! Argh!!!!

ibip it definitely doesn't. I've had 3 or 4 mc dreams. Really graphic horrid things. In my most recent one I had two mc dreams in quick succession in the same night but in the second one i knew that the first one was a dream. By the time I woke up I was extremely confused and very surprised to still be pregnant!

It's just your sub consciousness expressing your fears. They are horrid though, and have really freaked me out xx

Ah I'm so pleased we can all be jibbering wrecks together! No one in real life understands. Sorry about the bad dreams ibip and anda xx

Hi all

Sorry you are feeling worried. If it makes you feel any better I had a lot if twinges early on and the pain at 6 weeks. I instantly thought it was all over and got referred to the EPU for a scan. Things were fine but it didn't stop me worrying. I was like that up to recently to be honest. I just tried to tell myself positive mind = positive body but I know easier said than done! Still knicker checking now...

Report
IBelieveInPink · 19/03/2013 18:48

The knicker checking goes on?! Oh balls! In sure everyone at work thinks I have issues as it is, we have 1 toilet at work so everyone probably thinks I have issues right now!

To update, I did the sensible thing as instructed and got registered with the midwife. Just waiting for a phone call for appointment now so I can request a nice early one, and perhaps an early scan at the same time. The woman behind reception at the doctors said anything up to 10 weeks! I cannot wait that long!!!!

MrsExcited, sorry to hear you've been kicked off a bus...hope to see you here very soon.

Shell, I went for a scan at 6+6wks, there was a blob & the flicker of a heartbeat...good luck for yours (when you decide to book one in).

I'm 19wks & still knicker checking, and the doppler is getting a proper workout. Betty, my scan is next week & we're hoping to find out the sex. 2nd baby for us too, although DS was a 37wk induction so I have no idea what the start of a natural labour feels like!
Next milestone for me is a good scan next week so I can order my 'count the kicks' bracelet....still haven't told many people in real life!

Janie, any update on your wiping situation?

oh those dreams! i've had the - 'had a baby and not able to look after it properly' dream and also a dream where my mum was looking after the baby and brought it back in the pram, but the baby was actually my cat with it's eyebrow pierced WTF?!?!?!?

ibip i was the same with the work loo today - i kept thinking i was a bit 'squidgy' down there and panicked so kept running to the loo to knicker check.

i've got my doctors appointment on thursday afternoon to get registered. no sore boobs here, but i do have a weird metallic taste that i read is a symptom so hopefully that's good.

i'm off on a 2 night hen do this weekend, don't want to tell any of the girls that i'm pg as waaaaay too early so i'm not sure how i'll do the whole 'not drinking' thing. i was chatting to the hen today and told her i had a docs appointment n thursday as i had crampy tum she knows about my last mc) so maybe i can play the 'on medication' card.

Ooh Janie I have one for that! DH came up with this one!
We are going for a meal next week for his birthday with all his friends, most inconvenient!
So, we have bought a bottle of weight watchers wine and non alcohol wine. I am going to pour the ww wine away (it's vile anyway) and fill it up with the non alcohol! Will look just like I am drinking, and no one will steal any as it is special fat free wine!!!
Of course this only works with drinking at home or byo restaurants but it may help?!

hey garden i was just asking after you on the ttc thread!! i couldn't resist. TODAY I AM PREGNANT YAAY!!

pink you are a genius!!!!! (or should i say mr blue/pink is!!) that may well be the best i've ever heard! i have never been known to throw wine away but i think i could chuck ww wine away as i tried it before and it's properly rank! we are staying in apartments and we're having tea and games there on the friday night so it's a byo night. ok so a couple of girls are on weight watchers...do you think they might want to try it? does non alcoholic wine taste of wine?

Whaaaaat?! The knicker checking doesn't stop?! This is bad news, bad news indeed.

I've got a new obsession though...movement, and worrying about the twin which isn't moving as much as the other one. In fact, at only 15w, this 'movement' might be completely imagined anyway. Oh well, 16w scan on Tuesday, and still got all sorts of work shit to contend with (one to one consultations tomorrow) so maybe that will distract me!

Hello gardenworm welcome to a hot bed of neuroticness! Wink

Ooh that's sneaky ibip :) one of my friends is pg and didn't want to tell us too early so at our Christmas get together she pretended to have fallen down the stairs and be on strong pain killers, she was entirely convincing!

Report
GardenWorm · 19/03/2013 19:53

Sneaky! But now if I see someone with weight watchers wine I will always think they are pregnant!!!!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 19/03/2013 19:57

Janie, glad to hear everything seems to be better! Fingers crossed.
I like IBIP's suggestion of the nasty WW alcohol.
You could always have a blood test/followup at Drs on Monday and don't want to have an abnormal result due to getting smashed at the weekend?
You can't give blood if you've had a drink in the last 24hrs.
Urm, just volunteer to be the designated sensible one?

at Garden, welcome!

Hello Janie and Anda Grin - am so up for this I've got every symptom going however clearly I can read into this in a negative way as with DC1 I had none! Argh!!!

Janie - perfect for the Friday you can do garys and Saturday use the blood test excuse! If they ask to try it, say yes, but unfortunately they cant have a glass as you have only brought one bottle and you want to know how many points you are having! :)

Hey garden! Good to see you here.

Dietcoke, wow that's gone quick! 16 week scan? Yaay.

Mr pink is very smug that you all like his idea. :)

god you girls are so good! gotta love the blood tests! i did in fact have to go for fortnightly blood tests for months after my last mc and the hen knew so maybe she won't ask too many questions as it's pretty sensitive. dammit i bet no one on the hen party even gives a toss haha!! just hope the shots don't come out!

i just read another one online... bring some bottled beers, let everyone see you opening it and tip it to your mouth (without drinking) to make it look like you're drinking. then go to the loo and tip it out and fill it up with tap water :) drink away!!

Dopplar? What is one of these? And how do I use it? Is that what you listen to bebbys heartbeat with?

Report
andadietcoke · 19/03/2013 20:35

ibip yep. I both want one, and don't want one, simultaneously. I think it would make me even more neurotic than I am already trying to find two heartbeats!!

I got the angel sounds one from amazon (you need some jelly too) and it was the best thing...I rationed myself to once a week unless I had a real symptom to worry abt, so I wouldn't get obsessed and it was such a reassurance after the MMC.

People say that it can cause more stress if you can't find the heartbeat but I drank a pint of water and waited till I was desperate for a wee and always found it within a coupla minutes Smile

Hi everyone.
Big hello to garden - yay glad to see you here

So had my scan today. It was good, in that there is a nice sac and nice yolk sac and it looks fine. Tiny blip of a fetal pole but no heart beat yet. Bit disappointed but I knew it was a probably a bit too early due to my longish cycle. Just annoyed as I think even a couple of days later and I would have got a heartbeat. So I now have another week of stressing as being scanned next Tuesday. However they put me straight onto clexane so that's a good thing I had the scan so early I suppose. Midwife made me do it and found it harder than I thought. Just had to seriously psyche myself up to stick the needle in and balked the first time. Anyway did it and it stings like a bitch!!! and got a nice bruise and blood blister there now. Hopefully will make a better job of it tomorrow but might get hubby to "have a go" Feeling a bit sorry for myself at the thought of doing this for a year. Might order myself some swimsuits for holiday in may as thinking my lovely array of bikinis aint gonna look so hot with a tummy full of bruises :-( Please excuse my self pity party.

Pink I had a nightmare that I had MC too and I also squeeze my boobs too every morning - and throughout most of the day come to think of it. Guess all of this is natural for us.

As for symptom spotting got my first wave of nausea - ever (like in any pregnancy) this morning. Also been getting that metallic taste in my mouth ( so glad on a par with jane - must be a proper symptom then) and feels like it fills with saliva more then usual (sorry TMI).

Sorry for the long post xxx

Bod!!!!!! Yay for a successful scan. And Tuesday isn't far away at all (or so I keep telling myself!). So pleased for you that everything's on track. The injections sound delightful, but all for a good cause, and as you say, the earlier the better Grin

Ps 6 more sleeps Wink
